Objective To analyze the literature distribution and research status of osteoporosis in the elderly published in Chinese Medical Association journals. Methods The literatures of elderly osteoporosis published in Chinese Medical Association journals from 2008 to 2013 were collected. And the publication year, distribution, content, institution and region of the literatures were analyzed. Results From 2008 to 2013,there were 76 articles about osteoporosis in the elderly published in 22 kinds of journals of the Chinese Medical Association.Among these journals, the Chinese Journal of Geriatrics-published elderly osteoporosis articles occupied the most number [28 (36.8%)].There were 21 articles published mostly in 2013 (27.6%),secondly in 2009 (17 articles,22.4%) and 2012 (12 articles,15.8%).The province or city that published more than 10 articles was Beijing (18 articles,23.7%),Zhejiang (13 articles,17.1%),Shanghai (10 articles,13.2%) and Guangdong (10 articles,13.2%).The institution that published most articles was Beijing Jishuitan Hospital (4articles,5.3%).The main contents of these literatures included the influencing factors, diagnosis, treatment strategy, bone metabolism and surgery treatment for elderly osteoporosis. Conclusions Chinese Medical Association journals are the important source to acquire osteoporosis literature for the medical workers. The distribution of journal is relatively concentrated, but the distribution of authors, institution is dispersed.Chinese Journal of Geriatrics publishes the most number of articles. The research of osteoporosis has attracted more attention.

Objective To investigate the effect of hypertriglyceridemic waist(HTWC)phenotype on cognitive function in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods According to the standard of plasma triglycerides concentration≥1.7 mmoL/L,waist circumference(WC)≥ 90 cm in men or ≥80 cm in women,304 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into four groups:normal triglycerides and waist circumference group(group A,n =65),normal waist circumference and hypertriglyceridemia group (group B,n=53),abdominal obesity and normal triglycerides group(group C,n=114),and HTWC group(group D,n =72)for prospective studies.Patients in four groups were surveyed with Mini-mental state examination (MMSE)and Montreal cognitive assessment (MOCA).And changes of cognitive function among the four groups were compared. Results Total score for the MMSE was significantly lower in group D than in group A(27.1±1.9 vs.29.0±1.3,F=2.869,P=0.019).The subscales of attention and calculation(4.0± 1.4 vs.4.6±0.9,F=1.605,P=0.047)and recall(2.2± 0.9 vs.2.6±0.6,F=1.959,P=0.043) were significantly lower in group D than in group A.Total score for the MOCA was significantly lower in group D than in group A(23.4±3.9 vs.25.9±3.6,F =1.975,P=0.031).The subscales of visuospatial and executive(3.5 ± 1.4 vs.4.1 ± 0.9,F=1.537,P =0.048),attention(5.1±1.4 vs.5.7±0.9,F=1.660,P=0.048)and orientation(5.6±1.0 vs.6.0± 0.0,F=2.362,P=0.030)were significantly lower in group D than in group A.Conclusions There is a statistically more significant decline in cognitive function in patients with HTWC phenotype and the effective intervention and treatment are needed.

Objective To evaluate the effect of uhrafiltration on the renal function in the treatment of patients with acute heart failure. Methods We retrieved as high a proportion as possible of relevant randomized controlled trials (RCT) from PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,Cochrane clinic test center registration bank and Wanfang database. This meta-analysis was performed by searching RCT study literatures on the prognosis of patients with acute heart failure treated with uhrafiltration and by screening the search results according to the PRISMA declaration. Results We identified 12 RCTs with a total of 1,070 participants involved.Overall,as compared with routine diuretics treatment, ultrafiltration treatment did not significantly affect the serum creatinine levels [standard mean difference (SMD =-0.18,95% CI:-0.47 to 0.10,P =0.21)],the estimated glomerular filtration rate (SMD=-0.38,95% CI:-1.03 to 0.27,P=0.25),and the incidence rate of renal failure (RR =1.25,95% CI:0.88 to 1.77,P =0.21).But,ultrafiltration treatment was associated with decreased serum sodium level (SMD =-0.38,95 % CI:-0.67 to-0.08,P =0.01),increased net fluid extraction volume (SMD =1.06,95 % CI:0.29 to 1.83,P =0.007),and decreased body weight (SMD =-1.34,95% CI:-1.98 to-0.71,P < 0.001) Conclusions Although ultrafiltration increases the fluid extraction and decreases the fluid retention, the renal function and risk of renal failure in patients with acute heart failure are not significantly changed.
