Objective To explore the expression and significance of hsa-miR-181a (miR-181a) in can-ceration progression of endometrial carcinoma. Methods A total of 75 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue specimens were studied in this study , of which , 13 were normal endometrium , 18 were endometrial hyperplasia , 44 were endometrial carcinoma. After total RNA had been extracted , real-time PCR was applied to detect the ex-pression level of miR-181a in endometrial tissue in each group. Results miR-181a expression in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue specimens can be detected. Expression of miR-181a in endometrial carcinoma was high-er than that in endometrial hyperplasia , its expression in endometrial hyperplasia was also higher than that in normal endometrium, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The expression of miR-181a in endometrial carcinoma was associated with FIGO stages (P < 0.05). Conclusion The up-regulation of miR-181a expression in women with endometrial carcinoma may play the role of oncogenes. Abnormal expression of miR-181a is probably associated with the occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the expressions of transforming growth factor beta receptors (TGF beta R), receptor-activated Smads and common-partner Smad in condylomata acuminata. Methods Tissue samples were collected from 20 patients with condylomata acuminata and 15 normal human controls.EliVisionTM plus immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the distribution and expression of TGF beta R Ⅰ , TGF beta R Ⅱ, Smad1/2/3, phosphorylated Smad2/3 and Smad4 in condylomata acuminata and normal control skin. Results Positive immunohistochemical staining for TGFbeta R Ⅰ , TGFbeta R Ⅱ,Smad1/2/3, p-Smad2/3 and Smad4 was detected in the epidermis of normal control skin. The intensity of im-munohistochemical staining was significantly lower for TGFbeta R Ⅰ , TGFbeta R Ⅱ, Smad1/2/3, p-Smad2/3and Smad4 in the epidermis of condylomata acuminata than in that of normal control skin (P < 0.05 or < 0.01). Conclusion The expressions of TGF beta R, receptor-activated Smads and common-partner Smad are decreased or absent in the epidermis of condylomata acuminata, which might interfere with TGF be-ta/Smad signaling and contribute to the development of epidermal hyperplasia in condylomata acuminata.

This study was aimed to evaluate effects of different production techniques of Shuxue Tongmai (SXTM) capsules for blood coagulation function and thrombosis formation among mice. The observation was made on the clot-ting time, bleeding time and instauration rate of collagen-adrenaline model of mice. The results showed that com-pared with SXTM II and Ⅲ production technique, the SXTM I production technique of the same dosage group can prolong the clotting time of mice significantly (P < 0.05), and increase the instauration rate of collagen-adrenaline model of mice significantly (P< 0.05). There was no significant difference on the bleeding time of mice between the SXTM I production technique of same dosage group and the saline group. It was concluded that the SXTM had an-ticoagulative and antithrombotic effects. And the SXTM I production technique receives better effects.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2004;24(1):19-31
Whether melatonin not only inhibits the growth of H22 hepatocarcinoma cells but also induces apoptosis in vitro was assessed. The anti-proliferative effects of melatonin on tumor cells was observed by MTT assay and tumor cells growth curve assay. And the apoptosis of the cells was studied by acridine orange fluorescence assay and flow cytometry. The cell cycle of the tumor cells was also observed by flow cytometry. It was found that melatonin could significantly inhibit the growth of H22 hepatocarcinoma cells. Incubated with melatonin, chromatin condensation of the tumor cells was observed by fluorescence microscopy. Compared with control, the percentage of apoptotic cells was increased, and the proportion of G0/S increased but that of G2/M decreased. It was suggested that melatonin could directly inhibit the growth of H22 hepatocarcinoma cells by inducing apoptosis and extending the length of cell cycle of the tumor cells.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2017;25(9):651-654
Purpose To explore brain MRI features in newborn infants with incontinentia pigmenti, and to enhance the understanding and diagnosis level of this disease.Materials and Methods A retrospective analysis on MRI data of 13 neonates with incontinentia pigmenti admitted to Hunan Children's Hospital from January 2009 to December 2016 and further confirmed by clinical, pathology and gene diagnosis were conducted.Such conventional MRI sequences as T1WI and T2WI as well as DWI and SWI sequences wereincorporated. Results Five out of 13 newborn infants with incontinentia pigmenti were abnormal in the MRI features. In the conventional sequence, slightly short T1 signals in bilateral frontal lobe and right parietal occipital cortex were identified in 3 cases, right basal ganglia hemorrhage in 1 case.Slightly short TI and long T2 signals in bilateral basal ganglia were observed in 1 case;1 case of subarachnoid hemorrhage and 1 ease of bilateral lateral ventriculomegaly were noticed as well. The lesion sites of 4 cases were observed high density signal in DWI findings, three of which were widely distributed in abnormal signals.Lobes deep in bilateral cerebral hemispheres and subcortical white matter, bilateral basal ganglia, thalamus, internal capsule, corpus callosum, brain stem and cerebellum were the most affected areas.DWI could detect lesion area earlier and more accurate thanconventional sequences. Conclusion Incontinentia pigmenti among newborn infants demonstrates a high incidence.MRI examination should be adopted the moment neurological symptoms occur.Incontinentia pigmenti is relatively distinct in DWI findings, and hence is helpful for early detection of lesions and evaluation of clinical prognosis.
