Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(38):6104-6108
BACKGROUND:Artificial cornea titanium scaffold has a higher complication rate in clinical usage; therefore, to seek a kind of artificial corneal scaffold with high biocompatibility is a hot spot.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the biocompatibility of the artificial cornea titanium scaffold with hydroxyapatite surface modification.
METHODS: Twenty-seven New Zealand white rabbits were enroled to make alkali burn models of the right cornea and then randomized into three groups: in experimental group, artificial cornea titanium scaffold with hydroxyapatite surface modification was implanted into the right eye; in control group, artificial cornea titanium scaffold was implanted into the right eye; in blank group, no scaffold was implanted into the right eye. At 2, 4, 16 weeks after implantation, the right corneas were taken out for pathological observation and scanning electron microscope observation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 16 weeks after implantation, there was no difference in the number of inflammatory cels and fibroblasts among the three groups. Over time, in the experimental group, the corneal tissues, fibrous tissues and adhered extracelular matrices were increased gradualy. In addition, the experimental group had more adherent corneal tissues, extracelular matrices and better tissue healing than the control and blank groups. These findings indicate that the artificial cornea titanium scaffold with hydroxyapatite surface modification had good biocompatibility that can effectively promote proliferation of corneal cels and corneal vascularization.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of NOS1AP rs12742393 A/C gene polymorphism on lipid-regulating re-sponse of rosuvastatin calcium. METHODS:Two hundred and tuirty six patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)were selected from cardiology department of our hospital during Jan. 2014-Jun. 2015,and then given rosuvastatin calcium and other symptomatic treatment for 12 weeks. Polymorphism of NOS1AP rs12742393 A/C was detected by PCR-RFLP. The levels of TG,TC,HDL-C and LDL-C were detected by photoelectric colorimetry before treatment and 4,12 weeks after treatment. The serum relationship of genotype with the level of blood lipid was analyzed. RESULTS:Among 236 CHD patients, there were 131 cases of AA genotype (55.5%),98 cases of AC genotype(41.5%) and 7 cases of CC genotype(3.0%);genotype and allele frequencies met the Har-dy-Weinberg balance(P>0.05). There were 132 patients with normal blood lipid and 104 patients with hypercholesterolemia;there was statistical significance in genotype and allele frequencies (P<0.05). Among 104 CHD patients with hypercholesterolemia be-fore treatment, there was no statistical significance in the levels of TG,TC,LDL-C and HDL-C between AA genotype and AC+CC genotype(P>0.05). 4th and 12th week after treatment, the levels of TG,TC and LDL-C in different genotypes were all de-creased significantly;4th week after treatment, the level of LDL-C in AC+CC genotype was significantly lower than AA genotype, and the change compared to before treatment was significantly more than AA genotype, with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the level of HDL-C among different genotypes compared to before treatment;there was no statistical significance in the levels of TG,TC and HDL-C 4th,12th week after treatment and their changes compared to before treatment between AA genotype and AC+CC genotype;there was no statistical significance in the level of LDL-C 12th week after treatment and their changes between AA genotype and AC+CC genotype(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:NOS1AP rs12742393 A/C gene polymorphism is associated with CHD complicated with hypercholesterolemia;the C allele of NOS1AP rs12742393 may strengthen the response of CHD patients with hy-percholesterolemia to rosuvastatin calcium through influencing the level of LDL-C.

BACKGROUND: Dihydrolycorine (DL) can inhibit the peripheral release of catecholamine from sympathetic nerve ending and block α, β adrenalinergic receptor. It has multiple pharmacological actions, such as vascular dilation, hypotension, anti-hypoglycemia and anti-ischemia.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the selective effect of DL on basilar artery, thoracic aorta and ventricular papillary muscle of rabbit by means of observing the vasoconstriction induced by noradrenaline bitartrate and KCl.DESIGN: Observation of comparative experiment.SETTING: Pharmacological Department of Yunyang Medical College.MATERIALS: This study was carried out at Pharmacological Department of Yunyang Medical College between March and July 2001, and 46 adult healthy New Zealand rabbits were selected.METHODS: New Zealand rabbits were put to death by intravenous injection of 10 mL air from the vein of aural edge, and soon after death, brain, thoracic aorta and heart were obtained. Basilar artery and thoracic aorta was linked into 4.0-5.0 mm vascular rings; meanwhile, ventricular papillary muscle were separated and connected with tension transducer. Obserdose of noradrenaline bitartrate or KCl: Sub-maximal constriction of thoracic aorta was induced by 0.1 mmol/L noradrenaline bitartrate or W60 mmol/L KCl, and when constriction curve became stable, DL or nimodipine of different dosage was added. Basilar artery was exposed to 0.1 mmol/L noradrenaline bitartrate or 60 mol/L KCl, and rinsing fluid was changed once every 20 minutes and thrice in all when vasocontratcion reached the peak level, then different dosage of DL or nimodipine was added 20 minutes later, and the changes of vasoconstriction curve due to administration of single dose of noradrenaline bitartrate or KCl were obconstriction of ventricular papillary muscular induced by electro-stimulation: Electro-stimulation was used to stimulate the ventricle papillary muscular synchronized constriction with the frequency of once per second, wavelength of 3 ms and threshold voltage of 120%; when constriction curve became stable, DL or nimodipine was administered in a accumulative way.ence of DL or nimodipine on the half-effective concentration of noradrenaline bitartrate or KCl that contributed to the vascular ring constriction of rabbit.RESULTS: Basilar artery, thoracic aorta and ventricular papillary muscle Resting tension of basilar artery was increased by DL but decreased by niof basilar artery and thoracic aorta induced by noradrenaline bitartrate and KCl can be relaxed by DL in a dose dependant manner, and the half-effective concentration was (6.69±3.12)×10-4, (3.41±1.52)×10-3mmol/L for basilar artery, and (1.49±0.59)×10-3, (2.91±0.99)×10-3 mmol/L for thoracic aorta, displaying stronger inhibition on the constriction of basilar artery induced by noradrenaline bitartrate than on the contraction induced by KCl.On the contrary, nimodipine showed stronger depression on KCl-induced constriction than on the constriction induced by noradrenaline bitartrate.ventricle papillary muscular induced by electro-stimulation in a dose-dependant manner, and the half-effective concentration of DL on the contraction of ventricle papillary muscle induced by electro-stimulation was significantly higher than that induced by noradrenaline bitartrate.CONCLUSION: DL displays obvious selective effect on basilar artery of rabbit, the possible existence of constrictive α1 receptor subtype and dilating β receptor on basilar artery might be correlated with the selective function of DL, which benefit, for the improvement of blood supply in the ischemic region.

Objective:
To investigate the trends in incidence of viral hepatitis in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province from 2004 to 2022, so as to provide insights into the management of viral hepatitis.
Methods:
Data of viral hepatitis cases in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022 were retrieved from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The temporal, human and spatial distribution of viral hepatitis cases were analyzed using a descriptive epidemiological method, and the trends in incidence of viral hepatitis were evaluated in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022 using annual percent change (APC) and average APC (AAPC).
Results:
A total of 37 430 viral hepatitis cases were reported in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022, with an average annual incidence rate of 91.27/105, and the incidence showed a tendency towards a rise (AAPC=12.686, P<0.05). There were 29 229 cases with hepatitis B, 5 796 cases with hepatitis C, 1 451 cases with hepatitis A, 520 cases with hepatitis E and 434 cases with unclassified hepatitis reported in Yuxi City, with average annual incidence rates of 71.27/105, 14.13/105, 3.54/105, 1.27/105 and 1.06/105, respectively. The average annual incidence rates of viral hepatitis were 98.24/105 and 78.94/105 among men and women, which both appeared a tendency towards a rise (AAPC=12.415% and 12.581%, both P<0.05). The highest average annual incidence of viral hepatitis was seen among residents at age of 25 to 29 years (139.89/105), with the lowest seen among residents at ages of 0 to 4 years (11.38/105), and the average annual incidence of viral hepatitis appeared a tendency towards a rise with age (P<0.05). The highest average annual incidence of viral hepatitis was seen in Huaning County (234.24/105), with the lowest seen in Chengjiang City (26.11/105), and the average annual incidence appeared a tendency towards a rise in Xinping County from 2004 to 2022 (AAPC=21.451%, P<0.05).
Conclusions
The reported incidence of viral hepatitis appeared a tendency towards a rise in Yuxi City from 2004 to 2022, with hepatitis B as the main type. High incidence was seen among men and adolescents. The viral hepatitis control strategy requires to be adjusted with adaptations to high-incidence hepatitis subgroups, residents and regions.
