Objective:To investigate the value of serum matrix metalloproteinases- 9(MMP-9) level in the diagnosis of recurrence of endometriasis(EMs) after operation.Methods:Sixty-nine patients who had a previous operations for endometriosis were recruited in the study from February 2002 to March 2005. All the patient were examined by laparoscopy 6-12 months later after surgery. The serum were collected from the 69 patients and 25 health women for MMP-9 level measurement. ELISA was used to measure the level of serum MMP-9.Results:Twenty-two recurrent patients were diagnosed by Laparoscopy. The level of serum MMP-9 were 252.21?17.90 ng/ml in patients with recurrent endometriosis, 31.26?1.84 ng/ml in patients without recurrent endometriosis, 12.93?0.57 ng/ml in women without endometriosis. There was a clinical significance between the recurrent endometriosis group and non-recurrent endometriosis group and health women. The sensitivity for detection of recurrent endometriosis was 90.9% and the specificity was 85.1% using serum MMP-9 profile. Conclusion:Serum MMP-9 measurement is a sensitive, specific and non-invasive methods for the diagnosis of recurrent endometriosis.

Objective To retrospectively study the perioperative complications and postoperative function recovery of 93 patients treated with simultaneous bilateral total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods A total of 93 patients (186 hips) undergone simultaneous bilateral THA from January 1999 to January 2009 in our hospital were involved in this study. There were 70 males and 23 females (at age range of 25-65 years, average 41. 8 years). The preoperative diagnosis included bilateral avascular necrosis of femoral head in 48 patients, rheumatoid arthritis in 11, developmental dysplasia of the hip in 26 and ankylosing spondylitis in 8. The intraoperative blood loss, Harris scores before operation and at final followup as well as perioperative complications were analyzed. Results All the patients were followed up for average 65 months (12-118 months), which showed femur fracture in one patient and infection six months after discharge in one patient. The Harris score was increased from (36.7 ±6.1) points preoperatively to (91.2±6.2) points at the final follow-up. Hip pain disappeared in 92 patients after operation and radiograph showed no loosening. Actebular loosening occurred in one patient 49 months after operation and was revised accordingly. Conclusion Under strict control of operation indications, suitable choice and implantation of the prosthesis and emphasis on perioperative management and postoperative rehabilitation, simultaneous bilateral THA is a safe and effective choice for bilateral hip diseases.

To evaluate the gB antibody level of pseudorabies virus (PRV) in swine,a rapid test strip was developed. In the strip, the expressed protein of gB was labeled with colloidal gold, the staphylococcal protein A (SPA) and swine anti PRV antibody were blotted on the nitrocellulose membrane for the test and control lines, respectively. The specificity and sensitivity of the strip were detected with standard positive, negative and immunized sera of PRV,the results indicated that the strip was high specificity and sensitivity.Field swine serum samples were tested by the new strip and commercial IDEXX PRV gB ELISA kit, simultaneously. The agreement rate of the two methods was 91.04%.Furthermore,the dipstick assay based on the strip is rapid (5 min),sensitive and easy to perform. This suggests that the new strip is an acceptable alternative for field diagnosis.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(3):215-218
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the influential factors associated with the long-term effect of allergic rhinitis (AR) specific immunotherapy (SIT).
METHOD:
Retrospective analyzed the following visual analog scale(VAS) before and after the specific immunotherapy of 219 patients with allergic rhinitis. Logistic regression and pair t-test were used to explore the key factors influencing the prognosis.
RESULT:
(1) The gender and the VAS before specific immunotherapy (P < 0.05) were associated with the long-term effect of allergic rhinitis specific immunotherapy, while family history, the age of specific immunotherapy, number of allergens and stitches and with other allergic diseases (P > 0.05) were not associated with the long-term effect of specific immunotherapy; (2) Compared VAS of different endpoints with VAS before the treatment, there were significant differences. The primary endpoints were the time following no more than half a year (total effective rate: 50.0%), half a year to 1 year (total effective rate: 51.7%), 1 to 2 year (total effective rate: 47.1%), 2 to 3 year (total effective rate: 54.5%) and over 3 year (total effective rate: 40.7%).
CONCLUSION
Apart from the gender and the VAS before specific immunotherapy, genetic and other factors can not significant influence the long-term effect of specific immunotherapy. The effect of specific im- munotherapy seems to last for 3 years at least. Increasing stitches can not improve long-term effect of SIT,but it can consolidate the effect. The long-term effect of specific immunotherapy tends to drop off with fluctuations over time and the higher of VAS before SIT,the better effect of long-term SIT. Further more, the long-term effect of SIT of male is worse than female. In consequences, we speculate epigenetics related to the interaction between environmental factors and genetic factors plays an important role in the long-term effect of allergic rhinitis specific immunotherapy.
