Objective To evaluate the skin protection of the 3M transparent dressing joint 3MTM CavilonTM No Sting Barrie Film after peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC).Methods A total of 120 PICC catheter patients with lung cancer (observation time last about 3 months from starting the rearing pipe on the day to pipe-taken) were selected.They were divided into 2 groups by random digits table method with 60 cases each.Control group was given 3M transparent dressings stick in the PICC fixed place skin.Observation group was given 3M transparent dressings paste joint 3MTM CavilonTM No Sting Barrie Film.The incidence of complications in the PICC fixed place skin were observed and compared between 2 groups.Results The skin allergy,phlebitis,skin damage,total complications were 5,4,1,10 cases in control group after PICC catheter and 2,1,3,6 cases in observation group,and there was significant difference in the incidence of the total complications,x2=4.23,P＜0.05.Conclusion Using 3M transparent dressings joint 3MTM CavilonTM No Sting Barrie Film for skin care after PICC catheter,can effectively protect the skin after PICC catheter,reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.

OBJECTIVETo observe protective effects of Schisandra extract (SE) on embryotoxicity and reproductive toxicity of early pregnant rats exposed to Benzo[a]pyrene (Bap).

METHODSPregnant rat model was prepared using periodic screening cage method. Totally 50 female pregnant SD rats were divided into five groups by randomized block design according to the weight, i.e., the BaP model group, the low dose SE group, the middle dose SE group, the high dose SE group, the normal control group, 10 rats in each group. Rats in the BaP model group were administered with BaP at a daily dose of 2 mg/kg by gastrogavage. Rats in low, middle, and high dose SE groups were administered by gastrogavage with BaP (at a daily dose of 2 mg/kg) plus SE at a daily dose of 40, 200, and 1 000 mg/kg, respectively. Equal volume of olive oil was administered to rats in the normal control group by gastrogavage. All medication was performed for 8 successive days. Changes of rat body weight in each period were observed. The uterus embryonic total quality and ovary quality were measured, and organ index calculated. The number of corpus luteum, the number of embryo implantation, and the number of absorbed embryo were statistically calculated respectively. The implantation rate and the absorbed embryos rate were calculated. Serum levels of human chorionic gonadotrophin β (β-HCG) and progesterone (PROG) were detected by ELISA.

RESULTSCompared with the normal control group, the weight of 9-day pregnant rats, the number of embryo implantation, the uterus embryonic total index, ovary index, serum levels of β-HCG and PROG all decreased in the Bap model group with significant difference (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Compared with the Bap model group, body weight, the uterus embryonic total index, and the PROG level increased in 3 dose SE groups (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Ovary index and serum β-HCG increased in middle and high dose SE groups (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The number of implantation obviously increased in the high dose SE groups (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSE could reduce the embryotoxicity and reproductive toxicity of early pregnant rats exposed to Benzo[a]pyrene.

Objective To explore the effect of different scan parameters and algorithm on detection of iron deposition with coexsiting fat by dual soure CT.Methods One ml homogenate of normal rat liver tissues and 1 ml iron dextran solution with different concentrations (50.000,25.000,12.500,6.250,3.125,and 1.560 mg/ml) were fully mixed respectively.The 6 test tubes were scanned by dual source CT in the mode of dual energy to gain the iron specific slope.Different concentrations of dextran iron(50,40,30,20,10,and 5 mg/ml),triglyceride(volume percent were 60％,30％,and 10％,respectively),and homogenate of normal rat liver tissues were mixed.All 18 tubes were scanned by dual source CT with 80-140 kVp and 100-140 kVp,and all these images were reconstructed by filtered back projection (FBP) and singogram affirmed iterative reconstruction(SAFIRE).Raw data were reconstructed by filtering and iterative method.△H value (△H =CT value low kVp-CT valuehigh kVp) and overlay value of three substances decomposition algorithm were measured and analyzed by t test.The Spearmen correlation was applied in iron concentration and measured values.Results Iron specific slope was found to be 1.9392.When 80-140 kVp and 100-140 kVp were applied,△H values were (198 ± 28) and (152 ± 18) HU by using FBP reconstruction,and △H values were (191 ± 23) and (149 ± 17) HU by using SAFIRE reconstruction.The differences were statistically significant(t =-2.934 and-3.492,P =0.032 and 0.017).Overlay values were (381 ±54) and (236 ±31) HU by using FBP reconstruction,and overlay values were (399 ±53) and (276 ± 43) HU by using SAFIRE reconstruction.The differences were also statistically significant (t =-5.739 and-7.949,P =0.002 and 0.001).Under the same energy portfolio but different reconstruction,both △H and overlay value showed no differences (P ＞ 0.05).Except for the conditions with 100-140 kVp tube voltage,△H had no correlation with iron solution concentration (P ＞ 0.05) under either FBP or SAFIRE reconstruction.When other reconstruction methods and tube voltage combination were used,overlay or △H value showed correlation with iron solution concentrations (r value ranged from 0.959 to 0.997,P values ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Different energy portfolios of dual source CT will act on the measured value of iron deposition.The measured values will not be affected by ways of reconstruction.For the detection of iron coexisting in fat,overlay values of material decomposition algorithm is better.

Objective To explore the role of glutamate in inducing cortical neuron damage in newborn rats.Methods The model of damage induced by glutamate was established on cultured cortical neurons in newborn rats with primary cultivation technique.To evaluate the severity of neuron injury, the changes of morphology were observed by inverted microscopy, the cell viability and rate of LDH releasing from neuron were detected by MTT assay and biochemical method,respectively;the rate of neuronal apoptosis was measured by flow cytometer system.Results Under the inverted microscopy, neurons showed obvious toxic damage in glutamate treatment group. Objective To evaluate the curative and prophylactic effects of pulmonary surfactant (PS) on neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) by two different administration means. Methods 35 neonates with NRDS were divided into groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ randomly, prophylactic group were randomly divided into groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ, the means of administration in all patients was through tracheal tube. Neonates in group Ⅰ and Ⅲ, were given curosurf in several times with different posture, group Ⅱ and IV were given in one time with supine position. Blood gas analysis, index of mechanical ventilation, the duration of mechanical ventilation, hours of oxygen requirement and hospitalization between Ⅰ and Ⅱ group, the incidence of NRDS between Ⅲ, and IV group were analyzed and compared before and after treatment. Results After treatment for 6 and 24 hours, the oxygenation and lung function of group Ⅰ and Ⅱ improved respectively (P<0.05), the total times of assisted ventilation, Supplemental oxygen therapy and hospitalization were significantly decreased, the differences of those index were no significant between Ⅰ and Ⅱ group (P0.05), the incidence of NRDS have no different between Ⅲ and IV group. Conclusion Pulmonary surfactant is effective and safe for treating and prophylacting NRDS, and have no relationship with the means of administration.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2(rhBMP-2)in repairing hematopoietic injury in mice irradiated with γ-ray.To prepare SRY gene probe and study the effect of rhBMP-2 in repairing hematopoietic injury in mice by in situ hybridization.Methods Twenty-two BALB/c female mice were randomly divided into the irradiated group and BMP treated group,respectively.Bone marrow cells of normal male mice were transplanted into 22 female mice post-irradiation to 8.5 Gy of 60 Co γ rays.The left femurs of the survived female mice were re-irradiated with 9 Gy 14 days later.Mice in BMP treated group were given rhBMP-2 20 mg/kg while those in control group were treated with 0.9% saline by intraperitoneal injection every day for 6 days.These mice were killed 14 days later and paraffin sections of femurs were made.The SRY gene was detected with in situ hybridization.Results There were more positive blots in the left femurs of the mice in irradiated group than those in BMP treated group(T=155.0,P＜0.05).The number of positive blots between the left femurs of the mice in irradiated group and the right femurs of the mice in two groups was not significantly different(T=92.0,78.5,P＞0.05).The number of positive blots in the left femurs of the mice in BMPtreated group was significantly less than those in the right femurs of the mice in two groups(T=155.0,55.0,P＜0.05).Conclusions No donor cell of male mice was detected in the left femurs of BMP treated group,suggesting that rhBMP-2 promoted the restoration of residuary bone marrow cells.Thus,rhBMP-2 promotes the proliferation or differentiation of residuary mesenchymal stem cells,improves hematopoietic microenvironment and accelerates the hematopoietic restoration.

Objective:To investigate the effects of oxymatrine(OM)on the apoptosis of human hepatoma HepG2 cells and its possible mechanisms.Methods:HepG2 cells were treated with different concentrations of OM.The proliferation inhibition was measured by MTT assay and the apoptosis of HepG2 cells were examined by Hochest staining method.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rate.The expression of caspase-3,Bcl-2,Bcl-x_L and Bax proteins was assayed by Western blotting assay.Results:OM inhibited HepG2 cells growth in a time-and dose-dependent manner.After treatment with OM for 24 hours,some cells appeared typical apoptotic characteristics and the apoptosis rate was increased. Treatment with OM also increased caspase-3 activity and Bax expression in HepG2 cells,and decreased the expression levels of Bcl-2 and Bcl-x_L.Conclusion:OM can induce HepG2 cell apoptosis,which may be related to the down-regulation of PI3K/Akt signal pathway,suppression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-x_L activity,and activation of caspase-3.
