1.Correlation analysis on MRI measuring scope of medullary cavity osteosarcoma invasion and to determing reasonable bone cutting plane

Objective To analyze MRI in measurement of osteosarcoma invasion medullary cavity function and determine the reasonable range of the accuracy of bone cutting plane .Methods Selected 30 osteosarcoma patients with limb-salvage surgery ,X-ray and M RI in preoperative ,postoperative naked eye tumor specimens scope of intramedullary tumor ,intraoperative bone marrow derived ,postoperative histopathological examination with tumor specimens counterparts to determine the micro range .Postoperative evaluated limb function of patients .Results The average rate of functional recovery in patients was 81% ,the range measured by X-ray was significantly less than the pathologic examination(P<0 .05) ,while MRI measured attack range similar to pathological ex-amination ,there was no significant difference .Conclusion The accuracy of scope of medullary cavity osteosarcoma invasion diag-nosed by MRI is high ,as the operation reference high reliability ,short-term follow-up showed that in intramedullary outside the boundary of a 30 mm as bone cutting plane is safe and effective .
2.The protective effect of synthetic cordyceps Sinensia Sacc powder on the liver grafts of rats

Objective To investigate the protective effect of the extractions of synthetic Cordyceps Sinensia Sacc powder on cold preserved injured tissues of rat livers. Methods The extractions of synthetic Cordyceps Sinensia Sacc powder were added into LR at certain proportion. Having been preserved for 6 or 12 hours, the liver grafts of rats were reperfused for 30 minutes. And then, ATP, ADP, AMP in livers were measured and added up to total adenine nucleotide (TAN). Besides, AST, ALT, MDA, and ET in the effluent of the reperfusion were assayed. Pathological sections were studied and apoptosis index was detected by TUNEL method. Results The values of ATP, TAN in the experimental group preserved for 12 hours were significantly higher than the control group (P0.05), but the mean of the former was higher than the latter. As an excellent unicellular biological model, Tetrahymena pyriformis S1 has been employed in studying the biological effects of the chemical elements. The nutritious and/or toxic effects on T. pyriformis S1 induced by As, Se, Te, Re, Ir have been observed. Trace amounts of As, Se, Re and Ir added in the peptone-glucose culture medium could stimulate the cell proliferation of T. pyriformis in the following range of concentration respectively: As 0.03-0.05 ppm, Se 0.01-1.0 ppm, Re 0.02-0.08 ppm, Ir 1.0-3.0 ppm, whereas Te only showed its inhibitory effect on the growth of cells.
4.Diagnosis and treatment of spontaneous carotid artery dissection

ObjectiveTo discuss the diagnosis and treatment of spontaneous carotid artery dissection (SCAD).Methods Clinical diagnosis and treatment data of 9 patients with SCAD were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsVascular ultrasound showed stenoses or occlusions of carotid artery.Angiography showed “flame-shaped ” sign in totally occluded proximal section and free intimal flap in stenoses section.One patient with total occlusion of bilateral internal carotid artery and 6 patients with total occlusion of unilateral internal carotid artery were treated with antiplatelet therapy.Two patients with incomplete occlusion of the carotid were operated with stent implantation in carotid arteries,and the clinical effect of both operations was satisfactory.ConclusionAngiography remains the gold standard in diagnosing SCAD,and stent implantation is an effective treatment of this disease.
5.Expression of COX-2,VEGF-C and lymphatic vessel density in pancreatic cancer

Objective To detecte the expression of COX-2,VEGF-C and lymphatic vessel density (LVD)in pancreatic cancerous and paracancerous tissues,and investigate their correlation.Methods The expression of COX-2.VEGF-C and LVD in 40 cases of pancreatic cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues and 12 cases of normal pancreas was detected by tissue chip and immunohistochemical assays,and the relationship between them and the cljnicopathological parameters was analyzed. Results The expression of COX-2,VEGF-C in pancreatic cancer tissues were 70.0%(28/40)and 67.5%(27/40),respectively,which were significantly higher than that in paracancerous tissues(42.5%,17/40)and(35.0%,14/40),and that in normal pancreas(8.3%,1/12)and(25.0%,3/12).The LVD in pancreatic cancerous,paracancerous and normal pancreatic tissues were 4.75±2.77,15.2 ±4.70 and 1.67±1.15,respectively.The expression of COX-2 in cancerous tissues and LVD in paracancerous tissues was correlated with tumor differentiation and lymph metastasis;the expression of VEGF-C Was correlated with lymph metastasis.LVD in paracancerous tissues was correlated with the expression of COX-2 and VEGF-C.Conclusions Pancreatic cancer lymphangiogenesis mainly existed in paracancerous tissues,COX-2 and VEGF-C may play an important role in the lymphangiogenesis.
6.Anti-proliferative effect of epigallocatechin-3-gallate on human pancreatic cancer cell SW1990

Objective To investigate the apoptosis-inducing effect and anti-proliferative effect of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) on human pancreatic cancer cell SW1990 in vitro. Methods The effect of proliferation was evaluated by MTT after the SW1990 cells in vitro were incubated with different concentrations of EGCG (6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100 μg/ml). The apoptosis-inducing effect was determined by flow cytometry after the cells were treated with 25 μg/ml of EGCG. The cell cycle of SW1990 cells was detected by flow cytometry after the cells incubated with different concentrations of EGCG (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 μg/ml).Results After SW1990 cell were treated with different concentrations of EGCG (0, 25, 50 μg/ml), the values of A492 were 0.46 ±0.04,0.42 ±0.04,0.27 ±0.03 at 24 h; 0.48 ±0.02, 0.31 ±0.03,0.16 ±0.02at 48 h; 0.51 ±0.01,0.24 ±0.04,0. 14 ±0.04 at 72 h. EGCG inhibited the proliferation of SW1990 in a doseand time-dependant manner(P <0.01 ). The apoptotic rates at 24, 48, 72 h were (8.33 ± 1.15 )%, (19.77 ±0.81 )%, (29.17 ± 0.75 )% in the EGCG treatment group; while the corresponding values were (2.77 ±0.45 ) %, (3.20 ± 0.26 ) %, (3.67 ± 0.35 ) % in the control group; and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01 ). After 0, 20, 50 μg/ml of EGCG treatment for 24 h, the percentages of SW1990 cellsin G0/G1 stage were (57.59 ±0.97)%, (62.99 ± 1.91 )%, (68.87 ± 1.88)%, and the percentages of SW1990 cells in G0/G1 stage increased with the increase of concentrations of EGCG, while the percentages of SW1990 cells in G2/M stage decreased with the increase of concentrations of EGCG (P <0.01 ). Conclusions EGCG can significantly inhibit the proliferation of SW1990 cells. The mechanism may be related to the apoptosis-inducing effect and the regulation of the cell cycle of the SW1990 cells.
7.Expression of apolipoprotein M in renal graft in rats and its roles and action mechanism in acute rejection

Objective To investigate the expression of apolipoprotein M in rats after renal transplantation and its role and action mechanism in acute rejection (AR).Methods The kidney transplantation model in rats were established.Male SD and Wistar rats were used as donors,and Wistar rats as recipients.Three groups were designated:control group (syngeneic transplantation,n =24,recipients were treated with normal saline i.p.); AR group (allogeneic transplantation,n =24,recipients were treated with normal saline i.p.); PDTC group [allogeneic transplantation,n =24,recipients were treated with NF-κB inhibitor-pyrrolidine dithiocarbamat (PDTC) i.p.].The renal grafts were drawn at day 1,3,5 and 7 post-transplantation,and the expression levels of NF-κB P65 and apoM protein were detected by using Western blotting,and those of apoM,perforin and granzyme B mRNA were by using real-time PCR.The correlation of apoM and NF-κB,apoM and perforin,and apoM and granzyme B was respectively analyzed.Results As compared with control group,the expression levels of apoM,perforin and granzyme B mRNA in AR and PDTC groups were dramatically up-regulated at each time point (P<0.01),and those in PDTC group were significantly lower than those in AR group (P<0.01).The expression levels of apoM and NF-κB protein in AR group were both distinctly higher than those in control group (P<0.01),and those in PDTC group were markedly lower than those in AR group (P<0.01).A significantly positive correlation was found between the expression of apoM and NF-κB protein (r =0.469,P<0.05).And the expression of apoM mRNA was positively correlated to perforin and granzyme B mRNA (r =0.731,P<0.01 ; r =0.514,P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of apoM is obviously up-regulated in renal grafts of rats,which may take part in the pathogenesis of AR via NF-κB.
8.Value of bedside index for severity in acute pancreatitis scoring system in diagnosing severe acute pancreatitis

Objective To evaluate the value of the Bedside Index for Severity in Acute Pancreatitis (BISAP) in diagnosing severe acute pancreatitis. Methods Sixty-eight patients with suspected diagnosis of severe acute pancreatitis were collected and were scored by BISAP, APACHE Ⅱ , Ranson and CTSI scoring systems, respectively. BISAP scoring system included the blood urea nitrogen, impaired mental status,systemic inflammatory response syndrome, age, and pleural effusion. The diagnosis criteria of severe acute pancreatitis was BISAP ≥ 3 points or APACHE IⅡ ≥ 8 points, Ranson ≥ 3 points, CTSI ≥ 3 points. The diagnostic accuracy of SAP of these scoring systems was calculated. Results Among these 68 cases, 63.2%(43/68) were graded ≥ 3 points in BISAP scoring system;60.3% (41/68) were marked ≥8 points in APACHE Ⅱ scoring system; 60.3% (41/68) were scored ≥ 3 points in Ranson scoring system; and 67.6%(46/68) were scored ≥3 points in CTSI scoring system. There was no statistical difference between BISAP scoring system and other three scoring systems in diagnosing severe acute pancreatitis. Conclusions As a new and simple scoring system, BISAP scoring system can be widely used in the diagnosis of severe acute pancreatitis.
9.A preliminary study of phase contrast X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation

Objective To investigate the mouse liver blood vessel images using phase contrast X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation. Methods 6 female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into two groups, 3 mice in each group. In one group, livers excised after hgated arteries, veins and common bile duct. In another group, iodine infused via the portal vein and drained from inferior vena cave until all the blood in the portal veins and hepatic veins was displaced. After infusion, arteries, veins and common bile duct were ligated and livers were excised. Results Blood vessel images were clearly produced by diffraction enhanced imaging. This method can discriminate vessels down to about 40 μm in diameter without contrast agent. Using a contrasting agent more details could be produced. In one liver lobe, the entire branch of the portal vein could be clearly produced by one by one phase contrast image from the main axial blood vessels of liver lobe to the nine generation of branching. Conclusions Phase contrast imaging has the advantage of good contrast and high spatial resolution. 10.Effect of total parenteral nutrition or early enteral and parenteral nutrition on immune function in critically ill neurosurgical patients

Objective To explore the effect of support with total parenteral nutrition(TPN)or early enteral and parenteral nutrition(EN+PN)on immune function of critically ill neurosurgical patients.Methods In this prospective control study,patients were divided inte TPN group and EN+PN group based on the timing of admission.The changes of immunological indicators including CD3,CD4,CD8,CD4/CD8,CD3/CD25,IgA,IgG,IgM,and serum protein before and after nutritional support were compared.Results The percentage of T lymphocyte subsets CD3,CD4,and CD8,the ratio of CD3+/CD25+,the plasma leveh of IgA,IgM,and IgG,and the serum protein were significantly increased after nutrifional supports(P<0.05,P<0.01).However,compared with the TPN group,the percentages of T lymphocyte subsets(CD3,CD4,and CD8),the ratio of CD4+/CD8+,the plasma levels of IgA,IgM,and IgG,and the serum protein were significantly higher in EN+PN group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusions Both TPN and EN+PN can promote the recovery of immune function,while EN+PN is superior to TPN.Early nutritional support should be provided to critically ill neurosurgical patients.
