1.Advances in Study on Relationship between Enterohepatic Circulation and Chronic Liver Disease
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2015;(3):177-179
Recently, the relationship between intestinal dysbacteriosis and chronic liver disease has received much attention. The imbalance of intestinal flora microecology, such as overgrowth of gram negative bacteria, leads to intestinal endotoxemia, and endotoxemia plays an important role in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disease. This article reviewed the advances in study on relationship between enterohepatic circulation and chronic liver disease.

[Summary] Four women with uterus submucosal myoma without sexual experience were treated with hysteroscopic surgery from January 2008 to January 2015.There were 2 cases of 0 type myoma, 1 case of Ⅱtype myoma, and 1 case of multiple myomas with 0 type,Ⅰtype, andⅡtype, respectively. The operation was performed by using the plasma bipolar hysteroscopic resectoscope (sheath diameter , 8 mm) .All the operations were successfully completed with myoma resected in one time .The hymens were undamaged .The patients were followed up for 6, 4, 3, and 1 year, finding no recurrence .One patient naturally conceived after 6 years postoperatively and gave birth to a healthy baby .

Objective To evaluate the influence of diabetes on cancer stage, treatment, and overall survival rate among newly diagnosed cancer patients, and the correlation between diabetes mellitus and cancer. Methods Total 16 890 newly diagnosed cancer patients were analyzed retrospectively.Morbidity rate of diabetes mellitus, stage of cancer, cancer treatment, survival rate, and comorbidities were collected and compared. Results 9.57% of those 16 890 cancer patients were suffering from diabetes by the time of cancer diagnosis. The prevalence of diabetes was high among patients with pancreas cancer (18.76%),renal cancer (16.76%),colorectal cancer (12.34%),and uterine cancer (10.97%).Colorectal cancer was often diagnosed at an advanced tumor stage.Compared with those without diabetes, diabetic patients with colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and endometrial carcinoma were more likely to receive surgical treatment.Unadjusted analyses showed that the median survival time and percent alive at 3 years in cancer patients with diabetes were significantly reduced in all types of cancers, except for prostate cancer,as compared with those cases without diabetes. After adjustment for occurrence of cardiovascular disease, diabetic patients with colorectal, breast, endometrial, ovary, prostate, kidney, and lung cancers still had a 8%-55% increased risk of mortality compared to cancer patients without diabetes mellitus (P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalane of cancer in diabetes is higher than non-diabetics.Diabetic cancer patients are frequently treated less aggressively and have a worse prognosis compared to those without diabetes.

Objective:To establish a method for the determination of chloramphenicol and hydrocortisone in chloramphenicol hy-drocortisone ear drop. Methods:An HPLC method was used with a Shiseido SPOLAR C18 column (250 mm ′4. 6 mm, 5 mm). The mobile phase was 0. 01 mol·L-1 sodium heptane sulfonate buffer solution (6. 8 g potassium dihydrogen phosphate was dissolved in 0. 01 mol · L-1 heptane sodium sulfonate buffer solution and diluted to 1000 ml, 5 ml triethylamine was added and mixed, and then the pH was adjusted to 2. 5 by phosphoric acid)-methanol (40︰60). The column temperature was 30℃ and the flow rate was 1. 0 ml · min-1 . The detection wavelength was 245 nm and the injection volume was 10 μl. Results: Chloramphenicol and hydrocortisone had a good linear relationship within the range of 50. 26-753. 84 μg · ml-1 ( r =0. 9996 ) and 10. 93-163. 92 μg · ml-1 ( r =1. 0000), respectively. The average recovery of chloramphenicol was 100. 21% and RSD was 0. 48%(n=9). The average recovery of hydrocortisone was 100. 82% and RSD was 0. 37% (n=9). Conclusion:The method has the advantages of high specificity, good reproducibility and high precision, and can be used as a method for the determination of chloramphenicol and hydrocortisone in chlor-amphenicol hydrocortisone ear drop.

Objective:To study the hemostatic and adhesion-prevention properties of gelatin-chitosan crosslinked film after craniotomy. Methods: Gelatin-chitosan crosslinked film was prepared by casting the mixed solution of dialyzed chitosan and gelatin after crosslinking with glutaraldehyde in freeze dryer. Bleeding time was recorded for bilateral back incisions (5 incisions on each side) in 4 New Zealand white rabbits. Incision on one side was treated with gelatin-chitosan crosslinked film, and on the other was treated with gauze. Hemoglobin amount in films or gauzes was measured to determine the hemostatic effect after bleeding. Bilateral craniotomies were performed at calvaria in 16 adult rabbits. A piece of gelatin-chitosan crosslinked film was put in one randomized side and the other side served as a control. The scar formation was evaluated grossly and histologically on week 2,4,8,12. Results:Bleeding time and hemoglobin amounts in gelatin-chitosan crosslinked film group were superior to those in gauze group(P

[ ABSTRACT] AIM: To investigate the role of anterior thalamic nucleus in trigeminal nerve electrostimulation ( TNS)-induced effects on seizures and hippocampal damage.METHODS: The rats were intraperitoneally injected with pilocarpine to induce chronic epilepsy, and then received sham treatment, TNS treatment and TNS treatment after stereotac-tic lesion to the anterior thalamic nucleus. The TNS treatment lasted for 1 month in each group.Another injection of pilo-carpine was conducted to induce seizures, and the severity and duration of seizures were quantitatively evaluated.TUNEL, Fluoro-Jade B ( FJB) and Nissl staining were applied to determine in situ apoptosis, neuronal degeneration and neuron loss in the hippocampal CA1 area respectively.RESULTS:Compared with TNS group, TNS treatment after stereotactic lesion to the anterior thalamic nucleus significantly increased the severity and duration of seizures (P<0.05), and the numbers of TUNEL positive cells, FJB positive cells and lost neurons in the hippocampal CA1 area (P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Anterior thalamic nucleus plays a role in TNS-induced reduction of seizures and hippocampal damage. The mechanisms might be due to the chronically activation of the cortex through anterior thalamic nucleus pathway induced by TNS, resulting in the down-regulation of neuronal excitatory susceptibility.

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in females.Recent years, surgery, chemotherapy as well as other systemic therapy had greatly improved the prognosis of the patients. However, damage of ovarian function by chemotherapy lowered life quality, especially for young females. At present, there are several methods to protect the ovarian function of female patients undergoing chemotherapy, such as administration of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs, ovarian cryopreservation, unfertilized ova cryopreservation, embryo cryopreservation, inhibitors of apoptosis, etc. Each method has its advantage, disadvantage and indications.Issues related to ovarian protection are reviewed here.

In current years, there is a tendency for HIV/AIDS to shift to adolescent population, thus HIV/AIDS education aimed at college students is drawing increasing attention from all parts including the governments, colleges and universities, and the whole society.By analyzing the current spreading trend of HIV/AIDS,this thesis introduces the modern teaching methods in HIV/AIDS education and existing problems, and tentatively introduces movie appreciation as a novel teaching approach. The application advantages of movie appreciation and concrete examples from six universities in Shanxi Provinces have also be delivered, aiming to explore a new pattern for HIV/AIDS education among Chinese college students.
