Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at the six mind-calming points plus the four gate points in treating migraine.Method Totally 128 eligible migraine patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 64 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture at the six mind-calming points plus the four gate points, while the control group was by ordinary acupuncture. The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), headache attack frequency, headache duration, headache intensity, complicated symptoms, Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), and Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) were observed before and after treatment and in the follow-up study.Result The NRS scores and the headache symptoms and functions scores were significantly changed respectively after 2-week and 4-week treatment in both groups (P<0.01,P<0.05). The NRS score, headache duration, and headache intensity in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group after 4-week treatment and in the follow-up study (P<0.05,P<0.01). The SDS and SAS scores were significantly changed after 2-week and 4-week treatments as well as in the follow-up study in the treatment group (P<0.01). The SDS and SAS scores were significantly changed after 4-week treatment in the control group (P<0.01). There were significant differences in comparing the SDS and SAS scores between the two groups after 2-week and 4-week treatment as well as in the follow-up study (P<0.05,P<0.01). In the treatment group, the SDS and SAS scores in the follow-up study were significantly different from that after 2-week treatment (P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture at the six mind-calming points plus the four gate points is an effective method in treating migraine, and it can reduce headache intensity, and improve the anxiety and depression state.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of ~(99m)Tc-MAA imaging in patients with lower extremital posttraumatosis and postoperation(LEPP).Methods 21 LEPP patients with clinical highly suspected acute pulmonary embolism(APE) underwent ~(99m)Tc-MAA veins imaging and pulmonary perfusion imaging(PPI).Vena caval filters were inserted and thrombolysis were given in patients with big area APE and/or iliofemoral vein thrombosis indicated by ~(99m)Tc-MAA imaging.Thrombolysis was given in patients with small area APE and/or subpopliteal vein thrombosis.PPI was reexamined after 2～4weeks` treatment.The lung segments with 100% lack of perfusion were marked 3,those with 25%～75% were marked 2,those with less than 25% were marked 1 and normal was marked 0.The therapeutic results were assessed using this marking system.Results There were 13 patients with big area APE,8 with small area APE,14 with iliofemoral vein thrombosis,and 7 with subpopliteal vein thrombosis.2 cases(9.5%) died before thromobolytic therapy.The marks were significant different before(10.2?3.8) and after(2.8?1.4) treatment(t=7.75,P

Objective To determine the expression of adapter protein p66Shc in mediating alveolar epithelial cells induced by hyperoxia and to explore their relationship.Methods A549 cells were cultured in vitro and divided randomly into a control group and a hyperoxia group.The hyperoxia group was exposed to a mixture of oxygen(O2,900 mL/L) and carbon dioxide(CO2,50 mL/L) for 10 min,then cultured in a closed environment.The changes in morphology were observed under inverted microscope after exposure to oxygen or air for 24 hours.The cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry (FC) after 24 hours.And the expression of p66Shc was detected by immunohistochemical method after 24 hours.The correlation of the changes in mitochondrial membrane potential and p66Shc protein expression was analyzed by using Bivariate correlation analysis.Results 1.Under inverted microscopy,A549 cells from the air group significantly increased,stuck to each other tightly and grew very quickly.Their adhesion was better,multy-angle oblate and many cells were in division phase.Compared with the control group,the changes in morphology of A549 were remarked and obvious than those in the hyperoxia group.The cells grew slowly,their counts decreased and the cell morphology changed from typical multi-angle oblate to round or ellipse.2.Compared with the control group,after 24 h,in hyperoxia group of A549 cells,red fluorescence decreased,and green fluorescence enhanced.3.Compared with the controls (0.057 664 88 ± 0.006 517 84),the expression of p66Shc (0.123 600 50 ± 0.004 227 23) was significantly increased in the hyperoxia group(t =-24.006,P ＜ 0.001).4.The decline of membrane potential was negatively correlated with the increased expression of p66Shc protein (R =-0.988,P ＜ 0.001).Conclusions The hyperoxia induction could significantly increase in injured mediating alveolar epithelial cells induced by hyperoxia,the expression of p66Shc increases,the membrane potential declined,and they exhibit a negative correlation.So p66Shc may be involved in the process of high oxygen damage to human alveolar epithelial cells.

Objective To investigate the frequency of ocular complication and the quality of patient's life after radiation therapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma ( NPC ) . Methods 254 NPC patients who initially received radiation were followed and analysed. Visual acuity, automational visual field, slit-lamp microscopic findings, pattern visual evoked potential ( P-VEP ) and fundal findings were determined before, during and after radiation therapy. The severity of retinal impairment was assessed according to the international criteria on late tissue effects. Results The radiation dose was more than 70 Gy in 241 (94.9%)NPC patients, giving a radiation retinopathy incidence of 8. 7 % (22) patients after a mean of 46. 8 ? 14. 4 months. After being diagnosed as radiation retinopathy, 16 patients received combined-modality therapy of the modern medicine and Chinese traditional medicine. The disease condition was controlled in 56% (9) patients but progressed into optic neuropathy in 7 patients, 3 of whom developed radiation encephalopathy in 14 to 20 months after onset of retinopathy. The morbidity of radiation retinopathy was not associated with the patient' s age, but was related to the radiation dose. The retinopathy rate was as high as 13.6% in the 75-79 Gy group, which is significantly higher than 5.6% in the 70-74 Gy group ( P

Objective To determine the inhibitive effect of interferon-a on hepatic metastasis of colon cancer. Methods Metastatic model of human colon cancer was established by orthotopic implantation of histologically intact human tumor tissue into the colon wall of nude mice.The mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:(1)Control group(receiving saline solution only);(2)5-FU treatment group;(3) IFN-?-2b treatment group;and(4)5-FU combined with IFN-?-2b treatment group(combined group). 5-FU and IFN-?-2b were given via peritoneum injection 1 time/2 days for eight weeks.The mice were killed at nine weeks.The tumors were weighed,the microvessel density(MVD) was detected,and the liver was examined histologically in order to discover the micrometastasis. Results In control group, 5-FU group,IFN-2b group and combined group,the tumor weight was(1.53?0.78)g,(0.87?0.59)g,(0.81?0.43)g and ( 0.23?0.09)g, respectively;the tumor inhibition rate was 0,43.1%,47.1% and 84.9%, respectively;the hepatic metastasis rate was 85.7%,78.6%,21.4% and 0 respectively.MVD in IFN-? group and combined group was significant lower than that in control group and 5-FU group. Conclusions IFN-? can inhibit the growth and hepatic metastasis of orthotopic implanted human colon cancer by inhibiting the tumor angiogenesis.It may be more effective when INF-? combined with cyotoxic agents.

Objective To explore the predictive value of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)in local advanced breast cancer with contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)of axillary lymph node.Methods CEUS of metastatic axillary lymph nodes in 58 patients stacng Ⅱ-Ⅲ breast cancer was performed before and after NAC treatment. The enhancement patterns and parameters of time-intensity curve were assessed and compared with the pathology.Results The clinic response evaluation were drug-effective in 35 cases and no change in 23 ones.There Were no significant differences in enhancement patterns between no-change and drugeffective groups.Lymph node cortex arriving time was longer in drug-effective cases than that in no-change ones after NAC,whereas it showed no significant differences before NAC.Statistical significant difierence in enhancement duration(ED)was found between the two groups before NAC,which decreased markedly in drug-effective case8 after NAC.Histopatholngic response could be predicted with a sensitivity of 77% and a specificity of 90% by standardized ED below 275 seconds after NAC.No significant difference was found in time to peak(TP),peak intensity(PI)between the two groups.Conclusion The perfusion pattern of axillary lymph node CEUS after NAC Was insufficient to predict curative effect.But the lymph node cortex arriving time and enhancement duration may be of value in the prediction of clinical response to chemotherapy.

To study the effects of tetrandrine (Tet) on hypertrophied myocardial hydroxyproline content and myosin ATPase activity, left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH) was induced by renovascular hypertension (two-kidney, one-clip) in rats. Eight weeks after operation Tet 50 mg*kg-1*d-1 and enalapril(Ena) 6 mg*kg-1*d-1 were given by gavage for 8 weeks. The results showed that hydroxyproline content in LVH group was much higher than that of sham-operated one 〔(5.9±0.3) vs (3.6±0.4) mg*g-1 dry weight〕, and was decreased by 28.2% and 39.0% in Tet and Ena groups, respectively. Myosin ATPase activity in LVH group was much lower than that of sham-operated group 〔(0.43±0.09) vs (0.97±0.06) mmol Pi*min-1*g-1 protein, P<0.01〕. In Tet and Ena groups they were 60.5% and 118.6% higher than that of LVH group, respectively. The results suggest that Tet or Ena partially reduce the hydroxyproline content and elevate myosin ATPase activity of hypertrophied myocardium in renovascular hypertensive rats.

OBJECTIVE:To offer the literature basis for clinical safe drug use by literature research about ADR induced by Yishen juanbi pill. METHODS:Using“Yishen juanbi pill”as searching word,related literatures about ADR induced by Yishen juanbi pill were collected from CNKI,and then the occurrence of ADR was summarized and analyzed. RESULTS:A total of 15 literatures were included,involving 58 patients. Primary disease were mainly rheumatoid arthritis (28 cases,48.28%);organs/systems involved in ADR were digestive system (77 cases, 76.24%). Main clinical manifestations were epigastric discomfort, pernicious vomiting,diarrhea,etc. No obvious ADR was found. ADR-inducing dose was mainly 8 g,tid(47 cases,92.16%);ADR-inducing drug combination were two-drug combination (33 cases,56.90%). Fifty-eighe cases of ADR were recovered after treatment,and main treatment was drug withdrawal or symptomatic treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Although Yishen juanbi pill may induce ADR,those ADR can disappear spontaneously after drug withdrawal or the symptoms are recovered after symptomatic treatment. Yishen juanbi pill is a relatively safe Chinese patent medicine of anti-inflammatory,but ADR monitoring should be strengthened during application.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shuangyi Qushi Tongluo Capsules (SQTC) for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Methods A multi-center,randomized,parallel-controlled trial was carried out in 240 cases of KOA patients.The patients were divided into trial group (N =120) and control group (N =120),which was given SQTC,Xianlinggubao capsules respectively for 8 weeks.Before treatment,and 2,4 and 8 weeks after treatment,we recorded the scores of clinical symptoms and traditional Chinese medical syndromes,Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scores and knee function scores.After treatment,the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction were observed.Results (1) After treatment for 8 weeks,the clinical efficacy of the trial group was superior to that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05).(2) The trial group had better effect on improving the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of knee pain,VAS scores of limitation of motion and time for morning stiffness than the control group after treatment for 8 weeks(P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01).(3) After treatment for 4 and 8 weeks,the trial group had better effect on improving scores of traditional Chinese medical syndromes,WOMAC scores and Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA) scores than the control group (P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01).(4) Before and after treatment,the results of blood,urine and stool routine examination,liver and kidney function,and electrocardiography showed no significant changes.Conclusion SQTC are effective and safe in treating KOA,and can start an effect shortly.
