Studies show that some Trim family proteins are associated with tumorigenesis and cancer progression.Trim members are differently expressed in various cancers including lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, colon cancer, stomach cancer and breast cancer.Trim proteins are found to be involved in tumor progess by modulating the expression of tumor associated genes via several signaling pathways such as p53 and NF-κB pathway.Members of Trim family can be used as oncogenes or anti-oncogenes in the biological processes such as tumor cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell apoptosis and metastasis.

Objective To study the change of DNA polymerase beta and XRCC1's expression during malignant celI differentiation. Methods The Eca-109 cells were divided inm 2 groups:differentiation group which cultured with 8-Br-cAMP and control group. The 2 groups cells were cultured 48h simultaneously. The immunocytochemistry was performed to detect the expression of DNA polymerase beta and XRCC1.Results Compared with control group, the expression of DNA polymerase beta and XRCC1 was decreased simultaneously(P<0.05).Conclusion The differentiation agent can down-regulate the expression of DNA polymerase beta and XRCC1,suggesting that overexpressed DNA polymerase beta and XRCC1 maybe result in mutator phenotype.

Objective To explore the effects of community-based comprehensive intervention on social function and quality of life of patients with bipolar disorder. Methods 244 bipolar disorder patients were assigned into control group (n=119) and intervention group (n=125). The control group accepted antipsychotics only, and the intervention group accepted community-based comprehensive intervention in addition. They were assessed with Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) and Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 (GQOLI-74) before and 6, 12 months after treatment. Results The SDSS score was lower (P<0.05) and the GQOLI-74 score was higher (P<0.05) in the intervention group than in the control group. Conclusion Community-based comprehensive intervention can improve the social function and quality of life of patients with bipolar disorder.

Objective To explore the effect of auricular plaster therapy on associated symptoms and quality of life in patients with constipation induced by strong opioid drugs for pain. Methods A total of 60 patients selected were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group with 30 cases in each group. The intervention group was treated with auriculotherapy based on the pattern/syndrome differentiation after detecting the auricular sensitive acupoints' distribution in patients with opioid-induced constipation after receiving opioid therapy.BFI,self-made scale on symptoms accompanied by constipation and PAC-QOL were used to collect data about constipation symptoms and the level of quality of life before or after the intervention, and still with a subset of the intervention group followed for more than two weeks. Results The BFI and PAC-QOL scores of the intervention and control group were lower after intervention, and the decline score of the two groups showed significant difference. But for the self-made scale, the score of each item was slightly lower compared with that before treatment, which showed no statistically significant difference between groups.A follow-up of 2 weeks showed that the long-term efficacy of auricular plaster therapy was significantly lower than before, but was less desirable than short-term.Conclusions Scientific and reasonable choice of acupoint prescription according to syndrome differentiation can effectively improve symptoms accompanied by constipation and patients' quality of life.

Objective The application of laboratory information system (LIS) increases extensively. The objective is to expatiate how to widen the application of LIS so that it can be seamlessly combined with HIS, and play a greater role in quality control of clinical laboratory. Methods A consummate and compact working process was designed. A bidirectional communication from equipment to client was established. Module modes and prefect security systems were set up. Results With the existing HIS network environment, corresponding bar codes were generated through the examination applications from the doctor's workstation. At the same time, patients' basic information and test information were generated based on the bar code. In this way, the seamless combination of LIS and HIS were achieved. The switch of the functional module was simple, efficient and easy to maintain. The internet version Kaspersky antivirus software was used in the area of security. Database were backed up automatically and regularly. Authority was strictly defined for operators in different level. Conclusion Through the current application in our section, LIS has already been an essential part in the process to become a modern hospital.

A sesquiterpene synthase (AsSS4) full-length open reading frame (ORF) cDNA was cloned from wounded stems of Aquilaria sinensis by RT-PCR method. The result showed that the ORF of AsSS4 was 1,698 bp encoding 565 amino acids. Prokaryotic expression vector pET28a-AsSS4 was constructed and transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3) pLysS. Recombinant AsSS4 protein was obtained after induction by IPTG and SDS-PAGE analysis with a MW of 64 kD. Enzymatic reactions using farnesyl pyrophosphate showed that recombinant AsSS4 protein purified by Ni-agarose gel yielded five sesquiterpene compounds, cyclohexane, 1-ethenyl-1-methyl-2, 4-bis(1-methylethenyl)-, β-elemene, α-guaiene, α-caryophyllene and δ-guaiene. This paper reported the first cloning and functional characterization of AsSS4 gene from A. sinensis, which will establish a foundation for future studies on the molecular mechanisms of wound-induce agarwood formation in A. sinensis

A longitudinal study was carried out on fifty infants selected from both urban and rural areas of Beijing for their body weights, heights, head and mid-upper arm circumferences, tricep and abdomen skinfold thicknesses, and breatmilk and energy and protein intakes at the 1st, 3rd and 6th month of life. The results revealed that the breastmilk intakes of these infants were ranged from 600-800 g/day during this period of time, the breastmilk intakes of the rural infants were higher significantly than that of the urban infant throughout the study period (P

Herb-glycosides are main active elements of Zhongcaoyao (Chinese traditional medicines, Chinese medical herbs). However, the herb-glycoside structures are not optimal active structure for the human bodies. After orally taken up, the herb-glycosides of Zhongcaoyao could be changed into other more active structures by the digestive system such as enzymes and intestinal microorganisms; then degraded and absorbed in the human body and play the real role of pharmic effect; but only a small amount could be changed and controlled by circadian state of the human body. If this biochange of herb-glycosides to more active structures in vivo was finished in vitro, it is very useful for the development of the Chinese traditional medicines, new plant medicines, health food, and function cosmetics. To biotransformate herb-glycosides to more active structure, this paper introduced the studies of author's team on the new microorganism isolation of the special herb-glycosidases and enzyme fermentation, the special enzyme purification and characterization.

Objective To examine the cognitive status and influencing factors of spiritual care among neurosurgery nur-ses,providing a basis for developing a spiritual care management plan for neurosurgery nurses. Methods A convenience sam-pling method was used to select 741 neurosurgical nurses from 35 tertiary hospitals across 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province from October 2022 to March 2023.A self-developed general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of the Spiritual Care-Giving Scale(C-SCGS)were utilized for the questionnaire survey. Results The average cognitive score for spirit-ual care among neurosurgery nurses was 169.07±27.66.Factors influencing the total score and various dimensions of spiritual care cognition included educational background, receipt of spiritual care education, position, number of night shifts, marital sta-tus,and employment type(P<0.05).Conclusion Neurosurgical nurses'spiritual care cognition is at a moderate level,indi-cating a need for targeted training programs to enhance their understanding and practice of spiritual care based on their status and characteristics.
