OBJECTIVE: To analyze the trend of costs of various drugs consumed in hospitals of Guangzhou METHODS: The data were derived from the Hospital Purchasing of Drug Information System in Guangzhou from 1997 to 2000 The expense of each drug was calculated at the price of that year RESULTS: The annual increasing rates of drug expenses in 1998, 1999 and 2000 were 17 01% , 24 49% , 23 11% respectively CONCLUSION: It is a matter of great urgency to rationally use drugs, to eliminate the waste of resources and to lighten the patients'burden
2.Coping strategies of patients with superficial bladder carcinoma and the influential factors

Objective To explore the coping strategies of patients with superficial bladder carcinoma and analyze the influential factors.Method The medical coping modes questionnaire(MCMQ)was used to do the investigation among 146 patients with superficial bladder carcinoma.Results Among the coping strategies,the scores on the factors of facing,avoidance and yielding were 2.42±0.45,2.00±0.45 and 1.52±0.50,respectively.The operative method,education level,sex and stages of chemotherapy were the main factors influencing the coping strategies.Conclusions For the postoperative patients with superficial bladder carcinoma, the coping strategies were influenced by different factors.Therefore,nursing staff should attach their highlights on patients' coping strategies and instruct the patients with active coping strategies based on the their traits.

4.Effect of Ca2+-activated Chloride Channel Density on Gating Properties of Anoctamin 1

Objective To investigate the effect of channel density on the gating properties of Anoctamin 1(Ano1,TMEM16A)Ca2+?activated chlo?ride channel. Methods Ano1 expression plasmids were transiently transfected into HEK293 cells. High density and low density of Ano1 was ob?tained after expressing the protein for 24 h and 6 h,respectively. Electrophysiological recordings were performed in the whole?cell patch clamp con?figuration. The activation kinetics of current traces was fitted by exponentials. Results The current density was significantly higher in cells express?ing Ano1 for 24 h than those expressing Ano1 for 6 h(P<0.05). The activation of Ano1 current in cells with low density was well fit by a single expo?nential withτslow of 292.71±38.11 ms. The activation of Ano1 current in cells with high density was well fit by two exponentials withτfast of 47.78±4.58 ms andτslow of 385.74±71.44 ms. ANO1 current in cells with high density has a rapid active component(τfast)more than low density. There was no significantly different of theτslow between cells with high density and low density of Ano1(P>0.05). Conclusion Our findings suggested that chan?nel density regulates the gating of Ano1. High channel density promotes activation of Ano1.

6.Prevalence and associated factors of congenital heart disease among nursery, primary and middle school students in Zhaotong

Objective:
To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of congenital heart defects (CHD) among nursery, primary, and middle school students in Zhaotong, and to provide basis for CHD prevention strategies for children and adolescents.
Methods:
Using stratified random cluster sampling, a total of 11 343 nursery, primary and middle school students in 4 towns of Zhaotong were investigated with CHD screening and questionnaire during September to November in 2020.
Results:
The prevalence of CHD among nursery, primary and middle school students in Zhaotong was 11.99‰(95% CI =9.99‰-13.99‰), Yongshan County (14.90‰) > Yanjin County (10.22‰), rural (13.30‰) > urban (8.21‰)( χ 2=4.95, 4.77, P <0.05). Among 136 cases of CHD, the Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) accounted the highest proportion (41.2%), followed by Atrial Septal Defect (ASD, 32.4% ), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA, 14.0%), and Complex Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD, 5.9%) and the other CHD (others, 6.6%). The proportion of late diagnosed CHD was 50.74%, which was associated with living in rural areas of Yongshan County, low annual household income (10 000-<20 000 yuan), as well as isolated and uncomplicated CHD( OR =0.30, 0.13, 3.67 , 0.17, P <0.05).
Conclusion
Nursery, primary and middle schools students have the characteristics of high prevalence rate of CHD, large proportion of complex congenital heart disease, large number of late diagnosis and complex influencing factors in Zhaotong. It s in urgent need of strengthening learning prevention of CHD.
7.Methods for radiation protection testing and evaluation of a self-shielded head and neck radiotherapy system

Objective To establish testing and evaluation methods for radiation shielding performance of a self-shielded radiotherapy system by measuring the radiation levels around the self-shielded head and neck radiotherapy system. Methods A total of 14 monitoring points were selected outside the restricted zone of the system. Under radiation conditions from five different fixed directions, an ion chamber survey meter was used to measure and identify the maximum ambient dose equivalent rate at the 14 points. The time-averaged dose rate was then calculated based on the workload. In accordance with relevant radiation protection standards, an instantaneous dose rate of 10 μSv/h and a time-averaged dose rate of 2.0 μSv/h were proposed as the criteria for shielding protection evaluation. Results Based on the ambient dose equivalent rates at the 14 monitoring points outside the restricted zone, the maximum instantaneous dose rate outside the restricted zone was 7.4 μSv/h. With a workload of 15 patients per day, the maximum time-averaged dose rate was 1.0 μSv/h, which can be used as the criteria for shielding protection evaluation. Conclusion By considering both instantaneous dose rate and time-averaged dose rate, a comprehensive safety assessment of the radiation shielding performance of a self-shielded radiotherapy system can be conducted.
8.Preliminary experimental analysis of the feasibility of quartz glass for radiotherapy dosimetry

Objective To explore the feasibility of quartz glass for radiotherapy dosimetry through the experimental study of the thermoluminescence characteristics of synthetic quartz glass. Methods The thermoluminescence glow curves of quartz glass under different annealing conditions were analyzed, the thermoluminescence characteristics of quartz glass were studied, and the measurement parameters were optimized. Using the Co-60 reference radiation field in the National Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory, the quartz glass samples under different annealing conditions were irradiated following the dose levels of radiotherapy, i.e., 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, and 10.0 Gy, respectively. According to the relationship between the absorbed dose of quartz glass and the relative thermoluminescence signal intensity, the linearity and dispersion of the dose response of quartz glass were obtained, and the feasibility of quartz glass for radiotherapy dosimetry was analyzed. Results The linear correlation coefficient of dose response of quartz glass under annealing condition of 430℃ for 10 min was 0.9984, and the dose response dispersion was 0.97% at the absorbed dose of 2 Gy. The linear correlation coefficient of dose response of quartz glass under annealing condition of 600℃ for 1 h was 0.9911, and the dose response dispersion was 1.4% at the absorbed dose of 2 Gy. Conclusion Preliminary results suggest that quartz glass with annealing condition of 430℃ for 10 min has the potential to be used for radiotherapy dosimetry.
