Objective To investigate the status of TCM development in Chongqing city, and to put forward countermeasures and suggestions of the development of Chinese medicine in view of the existing problems,so as to provide reference for the government and relevant departments. Methods The relevant questionnaires were issued and recycled in 20 districts and counties of Chongqing city.Part of the data culled from Chinese management office yearbooks of Chongqing. Finally, comprehensive analysis was per-formed.Results There′s enormous upside potential for the development of Chongqing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM),but there were some problems and deficiencies. The main problems were as follows:the TCM characteristics not brought into full play in traditional Chinese Medicine hospitals, lack of following talents, unsound organization management of traditional Chinese medi-cine,the government′s insufficient investment and attention for traditional Chinese medicine (hospitals,schools,“hand-to-hand”ap-proach),not enough national policy support for TCM,TCM hospitals and folk medicines of ethnic minorities, and insufficient exca-vation in ethnic minority medicine. Conclusion In order to adapt to the development of Chinese medicine and to meet the growing requirements of Chinese medicine, some countermeasures should be taken as follows:giving full play to the characteristics of tradi-tional Chinese medicine, strengthening personnel training in Chinese medicine, reforming the management mechanism, increasing the government investment, strengthening policy support for Chinese medicine and folk medicines of ethnic minorities, accelerating the process of TCM standardization, scientific and internationalization. It is suggested that the miscellaneous diseases &incurable dis-ease medicine research office and slow disease traditional Chinese medicine health care office should be established under the TCM management office.Specialized agencies are advised to mine and collect herbal remedies, recipes in ethnic minority area and so on.
2.EFFECT OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ZINC DEFICIENCY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF FEMALE MICE AND THEIR FETUS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
Objective: To determine the effects of different levels of zinc deficiency and zinc supplementation in the early stage of pregnancy on the development of the female mice and their fetus, and the lowest toxic level was also investigated. [WT5FZ]Methods: The model of zinc deficiency (ZD) was established on Kunmin mice and the experiment included two parts. Part one: 36 female mice (14~18 g) were randomly divided into 3 groups, zinc deficient group (ZD); middle zinc group (ZM); normal zinc group (ZN). They were fed for 50 days and mated with male mice. Part two: 80 female mice (25~30 g) were randomly divided into 4 groups, zinc deficient group (ZD); zinc suppplemented group (ZS); zinc marginally deficient group (MD); normal zinc group (ZN). They were fed 25 days for depleting the zinc store in body, then mated with male mice. All the pregnant mice were killed on the 18 th day of pregnancy. The content of zinc in diet for different levels groups were: (3.0?0.5) mg/kg (ZD), 9 mg/kg (MD group), 15 mg/kg (ZM), 30 mg/kg (ZN).The mice in group ZS were fed ZD diet at first and then were changed to ZN diet at the 7 th day of pregnancy. [WT5FZ]Results: Part one: 1. The zinc content in serum was lower in ZD group (P

Objective To discuss the application of serum hs-CRP and lipids detection and the correlations between them in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods The levels of serum hs-CRP,TC,TG, HDL-C,LDL-C,ApoA1,ApoB were all measured in 49 type 2 diabetic patients and 53 normal cases. Results The type 2 diabetic group had significantly higher hs-CRP, TC,TG, LDL-C, ApoB and lower HDL-C than the control group. The concentration of serum hs-CRP correlated positively with TG,ApoB and negatively with HDL-C.Conclusion Serum hs-CRP level is associated with serum lipid level and inflammatory response might play an important role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. In type 2 diabetic mellitus there is an increased risk of development of cardiovascular diseases.

Objective To summarize our experience in the management of extensive small bowel necrosis from acute superior mesenteric arterial (SMA) embolism. MethodsSeven cases with extensive small bowel necrosis from acute SMA embolism were treated from 1991 to 1999. Results In this group small bowel of 28~ 30 cm and 70~90 cm were remained respectively in 3 and 4 cases after surgery. Two patients died of septic shock while the other 5 developed short or ultra short bowel syndrome and were finally cured by means of combined intravenous nutrition and oral feeding. 5 patients were followed up for 18~36 months, all are in good health. Conclusions Timely diagnosis and prompt operation are important to elevated survival rate. SMA embolectomy helps in preserving living intestine. For patients with short or ultra short bowel syndrome, comprehensive measures of intravenous nutrition and stepwise oral feeding in combination can quickly restore digestive and absorptive function of the residual intestine.

Objective To study the effects of TSPG on apoptosis of K562 cells and the probable mechanism involved. Methods MTT was used to investigate the proliferation of K562 cells;Flow cytometry(FCM) was used to investigate the effects of TSPG on apoptosis of K562 cells; The expression of Survivin in K562 cells treated with differ-ent concentraction of TSPG were examined by RT-PCR. Results The growth of K562 cells was inhibited by TSPG in the concentration dependent manner (P < 0.05). FCM showed that the apoptosis rates of cells in 100 μg/L (23.78%) and 200μg/L TSPG group(33.98%) were higher than those in 101μg/L TSPG group(16.67%), with significant difference(P <0.01 or P < 0.05). The expression rates of Survivin were decreased by the treatment with the increasing concentrations of TSPG (P < 0.05). Conclusion TSPG can restrain the human leukemic cell growth and induce cell apoptosis, which may be related to the decreased expressions of Survivin.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the direction of examination reform of licensed pharmacists, and to provide a basis for setting up the courses for pharmaceutical major in higher vocational college. METHODS:By the method of literature analysis and comprehensive analysis, examination points and their distribution, the 7th edition of Pharmacy Expertise (Ⅱ) was analyzed in-depth in terms of the change of exam outline, score distribution and the contents of test papers, correlation between teaching ma-terials and scores of test papers, key and difficult points. RESULTS:The exam outline of the 7th edition of Pharmacy Expertise (Ⅱ)was changed from 7 systems into 16 chapters;each chapter contained 3 parts:pharmacological action and clinical evaluation, medication monitoring and clinical application of commonly used drugs;there were most examination points in pharmacological ac-tion and clinical evaluation which were important points. The quantity of test questions was reduced, but choice questions were add-ed,mainly on medication monitoring. The 5th,8th,10th chapters accounted for the most points in the test papers, and ratios of page numbers to points in chapters 1-2,4,9,and 14-16 were all lower than average level. The pharmacological action and clinical evaluation were key points, and the clinical application of commonly used drugs were difficult pints, which emphasized on practi-cal skills in pharmaceutical care. CONCLUSIONS:Licensed pharmacist examination is closely related to clinical practice, which re-flects the characteristics ofexamination based on practiceandpriority to practice, and provides reference for setting up pharma-cy courses.
