Background:MicroRNAs ( miRNAs ) is a class of small non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at posttranscriptional level. They are considered to play a critical role in the tumorigenesis and development of various tumors. Aims:To identify the recurrence-specific miRNAs in peripheral blood of patients with recurrent colorectal adenoma by miRNA array for providing sensitive and specific molecular markers for recurrence prediction. Methods:Fifty colorectal adenoma patients who had undergone polypectomy by colonoscopy were re-examined from Aug. 2012 to Sep. 2013. Four recurrent and four non-recurrent patients were selected and miRNA array was used to detect the expression profiles of miRNAs in peripheral blood samples. Differentially expressed miRNAs were identified between recurrent and non-recurrent patients. Real-time PCR was applied to verify the differentially expressed miRNAs identified by microarray. Results:Seven up-regulatedmiRNAs(hp hsa-miR-548ai,hsa-miR-4446-3p,hsa-miR-139-3p,hsa-miR-27a-5p,hsa-miR-10a,hsa-miR-23a and hsa-miR-486-3p)and 4 down-regulated miRNAs( hsa-miR-124,hsa-miR-3613-5p,hsa-miR-495 and hsa-miR-485-5p)were identified by microarray between recurrent and non-recurrent patients. Among them, seven miRNAs were validated by real-time PCR as consistent with microarray. Conclusions:Some differentially expressed miRNAs may be involved in the recurrence of colorectal adenoma, which gives clues for further investigation on recurrence predictors.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard of Banlangen dispensing granules. METHODS:Thin layer chroma-tography(TLC)was used to identify Isatis indigotica, leucine and arginine, the items according to granules preparations and the ex-traction were detected. HPLC was conducted to determine the content of (R,S)-goitrin. The Shimadzu VP-ODS C18 column was used with the mobile phase of methanol-0.05% phosphoric acid (7∶93,V/V) at the flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The detection wave-length was set at 245 nm,and the column temperature was room temperature. The sample size was 10 μl. RESULTS:TLC showed clear spots and good resolution. Particle size, moisture, dissolubility and microbial limit test were all conformed to the specifica-tion. The extraction limit was no less than 25.0%.(R,S)-goitrin showed a good linear relationship in the range of 1.565 9-50.109 8μg/ml(r=0.999 9,n=6). The average recovery was 99.25%(RSD=2.08%,n=9);the RSDs of precision, stability and repeatabili-ty tests were no more than 1.12%. The content of(R,S)-goitrin was initially determined as 0.35 mg/g. CONCLUSIONS:The estab-lished quality standard has increased content determination, and the control programs are more comprehensive and reasonable. It can be used for the quality control of Banlangen dispensing granules.

BACKGROUNDTo analyze the perioperative respiratory and circulatory features of overweighted patients with lung cancer.
METHODSThe perioperative respiratory and circulatory features of 221 overweighted lung cancer patients were compared with those of 715 normal-weighted patients, by means of Chi-square analysis and t analysis.
RESULTSThe abnormal incidence of MBB, Raw, SGaw, PEF, FEV₁, V₇₅ , and EEG, blood presure, serum cholesterol and glucose, was significantly higher in overweighted group than that in the normal weighted group ( P < 0.05), and FRC was significantly lower than that of the normal weighted group (3.46±0.87 vs 3.63±1.17, P < 0.01). There was no difference in D LCO, MMEF, V₅₀ , V₂₅ between the two groups. The odds of postoperative complication in respiratory or circulatory system was significantly increased in overweighted group than that in the normal weighted group.
CONCLUSIONSThe obstruction of main airway, partial alveolar collapse and impotency of respiratory muscle may result in respiratory complication in overweighted patients, and increased cardiac burden and some pre-existing diseases in overweighted patients might be the cause of increased incidence of circulatory complication.
