5.Assessment of textbooks for medical English listening and speaking by systematic material evaluation theory
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2016;15(3):239-243
Guided by systematic material evaluation theory, the present study assessed textbooks of medical English listening and speaking published over the last 20 years, and conducted a relevant survey to investigate different opinions of the textbooks among teachers and students. It found that cognitive schema theory, information processing theory, the register theory and communicative principle were adopted as guidelines in the compilation.Multi-tasks were utilized to train language skills;medical terminology learning was put great emphasis on;original audio-visual materials were employed.Besides, the majority of the textbooks were compiled based on topics or situations. However, most textbooks of medical English listening and speaking miss the section for cultivating students' autonomous learning, independent thinking as well as phonetic exercise, and they lack the teacher's book and students' book, which should be improved soon.
6.Clinical curative effect comparison of partial tubeless and traditional percutaneous nephrolithotomy for the treatment of upper urinary calculus
Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2014;(5):460-462
Objective To compare the clinical curative effect of partial tubeless and traditional percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( PCNL) in treatment of upper urinary calculus and to evaluate the clinical feasibility and value. Methods 206 patients with upper urinary calculus were enrolled in a randomized clinical trial from May 2013 to May 2014 according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. These patients were randomized into the observation group (tubeless PCNL group) and the control group (traditional PCNL group). The operation time, stone clearance rate, visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score, usage of analgesic drugs, hemoglobin decrease, blood transfusion, bleeding, fever, leakage of urine, postoperative hospital stay, hospitalization expenses and the time of patients return to normal life were compared. Results All the operations were successfully finished. There were no statistically significant difference in operation time, stone clearance rate,hemoglo-bin decrease, bleeding, blood transfusion and fever (P>0. 05),but the visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score, usage of analgesic drugs, leakage of urine, postoperative hospital stay, hospitalization expenses and the time of patients return to normal life of the observation group were evidently lower than those of the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion As partial tubeless PCNL have a great advantage on ease post-operative pain, shorten postoperative hospital stay, reduce hospitalization expenses and accelerate patients return to normal life,it is safe and effective for the treatment of upper urinary calculus, and it should be popularized and applied.
7.The patients′risk factors for prosthetic joint infection after primary hip and knee arthroplasty
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2016;29(10):1101-1106
Periprosthetic infection is one of catastrophic complications which appear anytime after joint arthroplasty. Resear?ches show that the patients′risk factors are the keys to affect prosthetic joint infection after primary hip and knee arthroplasty. The au?thor summarized new study progress about risk factors for prosthetic joint infection after primary hip and knee arthroplasty at home and abroad. To investigate risk factors for prosthetic joint infection, the condition were analyzed by investigator from the following three as?pects:the patients′features, comorbidity, and preoperative medication.
8.Questionnaire-based research on the international communicative competence of traditional Chinese medicine professionals
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(6):494-497
An online questionnaire to 103 professionals of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was conducted to acquire their recognition and understanding of international communicative competence. The results showed that foreign language communicative competence and solid medical knowledge are considered the most important qualities while the importance of global vision, strategic thinking, cross-cultural awareness/sensitivity and communicative strategy is comparatively underestimated. It was proposed that domestic TCM universities and colleges strive to improve the soft skills for TCM professionals and cultivate more interdisciplinary TCM talents armed with professional expertise, foreign language communicative competence as well as international and multicultural awareness.
9.Combined anesthesia with isoflurane and different doses of remifentanil: A study of pharmacodynamics
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(02):-
Objective To study pharmacodynamic changes of combined anesthesia with remifentanil at different target plasma concentrations and isoflurane at different minimal alveolar concentrations(MAC) in laparoscopic operations. Methods Forty-five patients with ASA status Ⅰ~Ⅱ,receiving selective laparoscopic cholecystectomy or laparoscopic oophorocystectomy, were included. The patients were randomly divided into three groups with 15 patients in each group. In the Group A,anesthesia was maintained with isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 1.3;in the Group B,anesthesia was maintained with both isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 0.6 and remifentanil target-controlled infusion at 4 ng/L;and in the Group C,anesthesia was maintained with both isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 0.4 and remifentanil target-controlled infusion at 6 ng/L.Pharmacodynamic parameters and recovery characteristics, including bispectral index(BIS),heart rate variability(HRV),mean arterial pressure(MAP),heart rate(HR),time to additional administration of muscle relaxants, time to the recovery of spontaneous breathing, time to eye opening, time to endotracheal extubation, time to the recovery of orientation, and follow-up survey of "awareness during operation",were compared among the 3 groups. Results ①The BIS value was lower in the Group A than in the Group B and C at the time of pneumoperitoneum for 2 min and removal of the gallbladder or the ovarian cyst. The measures of HRV were higher in the Group A than in the Group B and C at the time of pneumoperitoneum for 2 min and removal of the gallbladder or the ovarian cyst. The measures of MAP and HR in the Group A were higher than those in the Group C at the time of pneumoperitoneum for 2 min,and were lower than those in the Group C at the time of the endotracheal extubation and the recovery of consciousness.②Either isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 0.6 combined with remifentanil target-controlled infusion at 4 ng/L or isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 0.4 combined with remifentanil target-controlled infusion at 6 ng/L provided satisfactory anesthetic maintenance.③Significantly shorter time to endotracheal extubation,to eye opening, and to the recovery of orientation were recorded in the Group B and C than in the Group A.Conclusions Anesthesia with target-controlled infusion of remifentanil combined with inhalation of isoflurane can be used for laparoscopic surgery.Pharmarcodynamic parameters and recovery characteristics show that combined use of remifentanil infusion at 4 ng/L and isoflurane inhalation at the MAC of 0.6 provides optimal anesthetic maintenance.
