Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(40):139-141
BACKGROUND: Impoverished undergraduate is a new and special group appearing under the market economy. Strengthening depth and extent is necessary to probe into and study it.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the social support of impoverished undergraduates and probe into its effect on mental health of impoverished undergraduates.DESIGN: Cross-section survey, clustering stratified sampling SETTING: College of Education of Jiangxi Normal University PARTICIPANTS: Totally 445 impoverished undergraduates of Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang University, Jiangxi Medical College, East China Jiaotong University and so on of nanchang city were recruited in October 2002. All the participants were volunteers.METHODS: Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) was used to evaluate the social support of impoverished undergraduates. The scale is composed of 10 items including objective support, subjective support, and utilization degree of support. Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) was used to evaluate the mental health status of impoverished undergraduates. SCL-90 has 90 tests, using 1 to 5 degree to score( from not present to severe), including somatization, obsessive compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, psychoticism (9 factors). During the process of investigation, the testee was tested singly in 2 hours without interference and influence of others. The questionnaires were taken back and the authenticity and validity of the questionnaires was verified.RESULTS: All the 500 questionnaires handed out were taken back. Totally 445 pieces of effective questionnaires were involved in the analysis with the effective rate of 89%. ① There was significant difference in objective support and utilization degree of the support between the impoverished undergraduate of either gender (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05); ②There were significant differences in subjective support and utilization degree of support between only-child and non-only-child (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05);③ There was significant difference in utilization degree of the support between impoverished undergraduates from city and impoverished undergraduates from country(P < 0.01 or P < 0.05 );④Obvious correlation existed between mental health and social support of the impoverished undergraduates;⑤Through regression analysis, it showed that social support had significant effect on the mental health of impoverished undergraduate (F= 12.770,P=0.000).CONCLUSION: Significant difference existed between different genders,only-child or non-only-child, impoverished undergraduates coming from urban area or rural area. Social support has significant effect on the mental health of impoverished undergraduates.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of Saccharomyces boulardii adjuvant with aluminium phosphate on symp-toms and signs disappearance time, immune function and inflammatory factors in children with acute diarrhea. METHODS:Totally 110 children with acute diarrhea were chosen from our hospital during Mar. 2013-Mar. 2016,and then randomly divided into con-trol group and observation group according to random number table, with 55 cases in each group. Control group was given Alumini-um phosphate gel 2.5 g,po,qd,on the basis of conventional treatment. Observation group was additionally given S. boulardii cap-sules 0.25 g,po,bid,on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for 3 d. Clinical efficacies, symptoms and signs(di-arrhea,abdominal pain, vomiting, abnormal stool routine)disappearance time as well as stool frequency, stool character scores, immune function indexes(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),inflammatory factors(IL-6,IL-10,TNF-α)before and after treat-ment,the occurrence of ADR were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:The total response rate of observation group (90.91%)was significantly higher than that of control group(70.91%);the symptoms and signs disappearance time was signifi-cantly shorter than control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in stool frequency, stool character scores, immune function indexes or inflammatory factor levels between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, stool frequency, stool character scores and inflammatory factor levels of 2 groups were significantly lower than before, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group;the levels of CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ were significantly higher than before treatment and control group, and the level of CD8 + was significantly lower than before treatment and control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in immune function indexes of control group be-fore and after treatment(P>0.05). Total incidence of dry mouth and constipation was 5.45% in control group and 9.09% in obser-vation group, without statistical significance(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:S. boulardii adjuvant with aluminium phosphate in the treatment of pediatric acute diarrhea can efficiently improve symptoms and signs, shorten disease duration, improve immune func-tion and reduce inflammatory reaction with good safety.

Influenza A virus is an enveloped virus that belongs to the Orthomyxoviridae family. It has 8 negative RNA segments that encode 16 viral proteins. The viral polymerase consists of 3 proteins (PB 1, PB2 and PA) which plays an important role in the transcription and replication of the influenza A virus. Polymerase basic protein 1 (PB 1) is a critical member of viral polymerase complex. In order to further study the function of PB1, we need to prepare the PB1 antibody with good quality. Therefore, we amplified PB1 conserved region (nt1648-2265) by PCR and cloned it into pET-30a vector, and transformed into Escherichia coli BL2 1. The expression of His tagged PB 1 protein was induced by IPTG, and His-PB 1 proteins were purified by Ni-NTA resin. For preparation of PB 1 protein antiserum, rabbits were immunized with His-PB 1 fusion protein 3 times. Then the titer of PB 1 polyclonal antibody was measured by indirect ELISA. The antibody was purified by membrane affinity purification and subjected to immunoblotting analysis. Data showed that PB1 antibody can recognize PB 1 protein from WSN virus infected or pCMV FLAG-PB 1 transfected cells. Meanwhile, PB 1 antibody can also recognize specifically other subtype strains of influenza A virus such as H9N2 and H3N2. PB 1 polyclonal antibody we generated will be a useful tool to study the biological function of PB1.

Objective To investigate the effect of endoscope assisted microincision cholelithotomy(EMC) in the treatment of gallstone. Methods The clinical data of 86 patients with gallbladder stone treated by EMC were analyzed retrospectively.Of them, 63 cases were follwed-up and studied. Results All eighty-six patients were successfully operated on and discharged, no operative complications occurred. Among 63 patient being followed up for 1~3 years, the recurrence rate of gallbladder stones was 3.2%(2/63). No recurrence was noted in 46 patients with single gallstone. In the other seventeen patients with multiple stones, gallstone recurrence was found in 2 patients, the recurrence rate was 11.8%(2/17). Conclusions If selection of the operation idications are strict, endoscope assisted microincision cholelithotomy for treatment of gallstone is simple, safe, effective and less trauma, and can preserves the function of gallbladder, but it can not replace the cholecystectomy.
