Objective:To investigate the reliability of tooth color-measuring by using digital cameras.Methods: 3D-Master shade guide system was measured by Canon EOS D60,CRAIC QDI2000 micropectrophotometer and ShadeEye-NCC directly.The data collected from the three methods were analyzed statistically to evaluate the reliability of the data measured by digital cameras.Results:There was no significant difference between the data measured by digital cameras and ShadeEye-NCC statistically;while that existed between the parameters of L* collected by digital cameras and microspectrophotometer were obviously co-related(P

Objective To evaluate the two methods for quantitative hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA test. Methods The Hybrid Capture II system from Digene Co. and Real Time PCR fluorimetry quantitative HBV DNA test kit from PIJI Bio Technical Development Company Ltd. were used to detect sera HBV DNA in sera of patients with chronic hepatitis B. Results With the two quantitative methods, the positive rates of HBV DNA were 98 6% and 94.6% respectively. The concordant rate of these two methods was 93.2%. In assessing the sensitivity of the two kits with a serial of 10 fold diluted patients′s sera, PG kit could test 10 -7 of diluted serum, and HC II could test 10 -6 . The test value of HC II was more accurate in quantitation than PG kit especially in higher titer of HBV DNA. Whereas in the case of low titer of HBV DNA, the deviation of test value increased in both two methods. For monitoring the anti virus effect with quantitative HBV DNA in CHB patients, these two methods had same sensitivity, and the test value of HBV DNA had the same trend of change. Conclusion HC II system and PG test kit were sensitive and reliable, and they were worthy of monitoring the anti virus efficacy and of clinical practice.

OBJECTIVE: To provide a basis for the prediction and early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer through data mining and analysis. METHOD: We constructed a laryngeal cancer data warehouse on Caché and combined IBM Cognos for on-line analytical processing. After building research data set, software Weka was used for feature selection and data mining. RESULT: Data warehouse of laryngeal cancer was structured and Laryngeal cancer data were multidimensional presented. It is possible to find the high relevant and potential characteristics associated with laryngeal cancer by integration and 2-phase feature subset of data mining to extract the larynx. CONCLUSION Application of data mining technology could help clinicians to find potential clinical knowledge and make early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the diagnostic value of multi-slice CT (MSCT) and multi-dimensional reconstructions for congenital pulmonary stenosis (PS) in children.MethodsThe enhanced thin CT images of 33 patients with PS were retrospectively analyzed,the data was transmitted to the workstation for multi-planar reformation ( MPR),volume rendering technique (VRT) and maximum intensity projection (MIP).The CT imaging features of PS were analyzed combining with operation resul ts and Ultrasonic Cardiogram (UCG).ResultsIn 33 cases of PS,there were 17 cases with pulmonary valve stenosis (PVS),10 cases with right ventricular infundibulum stenosis (RVIS),and 6 cases with pulmonary trunk stenosis (PTS).The first two were correctly diagnosed by UCG,5 cases of PVS and Icases of RVIS were correctly diagnosed by MSCTA,the later was correctly diagnosed by UCG and MSCTA.In 14 cases with collateral circulations between aorta and pulmonary artery ( APC ),all were correctly diagnosed by MSCTA,only 3 case was diagnosed by UCG,1 case was misdiagnosed as PDA.UCG can clearly demonstrate the others intra-cardiac deformities,such as ASD,VSD,RVH,PFO,SV,DORV,TECD and TBD,the accuracy rate of MSCTA was 39.4％,and MSCTA can clearly demonstrate the origin,course and diameter of extracardiac vascular abnormalities,such as PDA,RAA,TGA,TAPVD,CoA,PLSV and VLSA,the accuracy rate of UCG was 697％.ConclusionsMSCT and multi-dimensional reconstruction were a kind of non-invasive method,it was a good approach for extra-cardiac vascular malformations and APC in PS.Combining with UCG,it can further be used to improve the diagnostic accuracy of intra-cardiac malformation and supply diagnostic evidence for clinical treatment.

Objective To explore the etiology and pathogenesis of Hirschsprung disease(HD) and the role of nitric oxide in pathophysiology of HD. Methods The whole amount preparations of dilative and transitional segments were stained by NADPH\|diaphorase histochemistry mothod,and colonic walls were digested by dispase. Then the NOS positive nervous structure were observed by light and scanning electron microscope. Results In dilative segment, under light microscope, ganglion and neuron were bigger and more darkly stained. Intraganglionic neurons distributed mostly in peripheral area of ganglion and basal part of ganglionic fiber bundles. Under scanning electron microscope, the neurons were denser, more nerve fibers from them and connected with each other in all dimensions. And more transverse connected fibers between neurons which were arranged along muscle fibers. Myenteric plexus even connected with the submucosal plexus by nerve fibers which passed through circular muscle layer. In transitional segment, under light microscope, intraganglionic neurons cytoplasm were lightly stained and also variedly. The ganglion and neurons of the segment were smaller, and the fibers from them were thinner and paler than those of the dilative segment. Under scanning electron microscope, neurons' density was lower, the fiber connection between neurons and muscle fibers/neurons was lesser. In the transitional segment, neurons and nerve fibers were distributed linearly along the longitudinal muscle fibers. Conclusion Our results indicated that an intimate relationship existed between the development of Hirschsprung disease and abnormal distribution and metabolism of NOS positive neuron in colonic wall. OBJECTIVE:To provide theoretic support for medicine affordability evaluation in China by studying medicine af-fordability evaluation methods. METHODS:Through introducing the concept and evaluation methods of affordability,the evalua-tion steps of“catastrophic expenditure”and“medicine affordability”in medicine affordability evaluation methods were interpreted systematically. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The catastrophic expenditure and impoverishing effect methods can measure med-icine affordability,but they both have limitations. Catastrophic expenditure evaluation method cannot measure the consequences of a catastrophic expenditure to the family,and ignore the reduction of family income after the occurrence of diseases. Impoverishing effect evaluation method cannot pay attention to originally poor population. These two evaluation methods complement each other, and can more objectively reflect the ability of patients bearing medical expenses,which can provide scientific references for poli-cies of enhancing medicine pricing and reimbursement system.

Objective To evaluate the effect of spleno-left adrenal vein shunt for the treatment of portal hypertensive upper GI bleeding caused by portal vein cavernous transformation in children.Methods Spleno-left adrenal vein shunt was performed in 8 children with portal hypertension due to cavernous transformation.The clinical data was reviewed.Results Portal vein pressure decreased significantly from (30±11)mm Hg to(22±7) mm Hg after shunt.There was no mortality perioperatively and during the follow-up.There were no recurrent hemorrhage nor hepatic encephalopathy occurring in the follow-up and all the children have normal intelligence and normal liver function though blood ammonia level increased significantly from(18±7)μmol/L to (60±17)μmol/L in 4 cases.In 7 cases in which preoperative whole blood cell count significantly decreased,the postoperative WBC,RBC,Hb and PLT was (7.64 ±4.46)×10~9/L,(4.54±0.97)×10~(12)/L,(133±5) g/L and (355.40±107.36)×10~9/L respectively (all P ＜0.05).In one case suffering from preoperative low PLT count the postop PLT reached 333×10~9/L,which was significantly higher than that preoperatively.Esophageal varices ameliorated in 6 cases.No stenosis of anastomotic stoma and thrombosis developed.Conclusion Spleno-left adrenal vein shunt is an effective procedure to treat portal vein cavernous transformation induced portal hypertension in children.

Objective Three parameters include circumferential strain (CS),circumferential strain rate (CSr) and stiffness parameter (β) were measured to evaluate the elasticity of carotid artery using two-dimensional(2D) strain imaging and evaluate its clinical value in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods 60 patients with T2DM were collected and divided into carotid intima-midia thickness (CIMT) thickeness group(34 cases,1.0 mm＜CIMT≤1.2 mm) and plaque group(26 case,CIMT＞ 1.2 mm).33 normal people were supplied as control group.The systolic global peak CS and CSr of the carotid artery were obtained from short-axis view of the common carotid artery and the stiffness parameters β was measured using 2D strain imaging.All the parameters were compared among the three groups.Results The CS and CSr were decreased and β was increased in patients with T2DM (P ＜ 0.01),The CS and CSr obtained from the plaque group were less than that of the CIMT thickeness group(P ＜0.05),but the β was higher than that of the CIMT thickeness group (P ＜0.01).The CS and β were correlated significantly with CIMT respectively (r =-0.79,P ＜ 0.01 ; r =0.72,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions 2D strain imaging is a technique for early assessing the carotid artery elasticity in patients with T2DM,the thicker the CIMT is,the smaller the deformation is and the larger the β is.

Objective To establish the chromatographic fingerprint of mushroom polysaccharides by 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone( PMP) pre-column derivatization. Methods The mushroom polysaccharides was extracted by hot distilled water, precipitated by alcohol, and hydrolyzed into monosaccharides by Trifluoroacetic Acid (TFA). The hydrolysate was derivatized with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone ( PMP ) and tested via HPLC to study the monosaccharide components in mushroom polysaccharides. Results Fingerprint was established with 13 common peaks, 6 peaks in which were identified as mannose, D-glucuronic acid, D-glucose, galactose, xylose and L-fucose. The glucose accounted for the most, followed by mannose, galactose and fucose. Conclusion Development of fingerprint chromatogram by HPLC is a stable, simple, and repeatable way, which can be applied to the quality control of mushroom polysaccharides.

Objective To investigate the value of electromagnetic navigation in microsurgical resection of intracranial cavernous hemangioma of different locations.Methods The microsurgical resection of intracranial cavernous hemangioma of different locations with the guide of electromagnetic navigation of COMPASS Cygnus system,There were 47 cavernous hemangioma of 43 patients,including of multiple cavernous hemangioma of 3 cases,one case had 3,the other 2 cases had 2 ; Including 25 deep in the cerebral cortex(including of 4 deep in the cerebellar cortex),twenty shallow in the cerebral cortex,two were in the orbital apex,including of 4 deep in the sensorimotor cortex,four deep in the language center,and 2 deep in the visual center.Results All 47 cavernous hemangioma of 43 patients,the accuracy was 100％.The resection rate was 100％,including of 16 patients were removed with a straight incision.There was no one with the neurological dysfunction worse postoperative,with no deaths,with 1 case of normal perfusion pressure breakthrough and was cured by conservative treatment.Thirty cases were discharged within 1 week.The blood loss of 30 cases was less than 50 ml.The average registration error of navigation was 1.6 ± 0.4 mm.Conclusion The surgical incision and surgical approach can been designed with the help of electromagnetic navigation system before operation,and can accurately resect the lesions simultaneously avoid brain function area,protect the normal brain tissue,reduce postoperative complications,with the help of the electromagnetic navigation system intraoperative in real time.It is suitable for minimally invasive surgery for intracranial cavernous hemangioma.
