Objective To study the changes of serum creatase and its clinical significance in patients with periodic paralysis. Methods The serum creatine phosphatase (CPK),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were measured by means of speed rate method in 103 patients of periodic paralysis and 35 healthy persons as the control group. The relationship between increased serum creatase levels and the clinic findings was analyzed. Results Compared with the controls, all kinds of serum creatase levels in the patients elevated in different levels, and the differences were significant (all P

Objective To systematically review the efficacy of corticosteroid nasal spray plus antihistamine versus either therapy given alone or placebo in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR).Methods The PubMed, EMbase, Google Scholar and The Cochrane Library were electronically searched for randomized controlled trials ( RCTs ) about the efficacy of corticosteroid plus antihistamine for AR .The duration of the search was from the inception of the databases to April 2015 . After literature selection , data extraction and quality assessment conducted by two reviewers independently , meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. Results Ten studies involving 6568 patients were finally included .The qualitative analysis showed that the combination therapy had greater efficacy than oral antihistamines alone or placebo on improving symptoms. The results of meta-analysis showed that pooled results of two trials failed to show significant difference in total nasal symptoms between combination therapy and intranasal corticosteroid alone [ WMD =-0.20, 95%CI (-0.38,-0.01),P=0.04].The cumulative meta-analysis of six RCTs showed that the combination therapy was superior to intranasal corticosteroid alone[WMD=-1.16, 95%CI( -1.49,-0.83), P<0.00001], intranasal antihistamine alone[WMD=-1.73, 95%CI( -2.08,-1.38),P<0.00001], and placebo [WMD =-2.81, 95%CI( -3.16,-2.47), P<0.00001].Conclusion Intranasal corticosteroid plus oral antihistamine has similar efficacy to intranasal corticosteroid alone, greater efficacy than oral antihistamines alone or placebo in reducing nasal symptoms for AR patients . Intranasal corticosteroid plus intranasal antihistamine is significantly superior to either therapy given alone or placebo .

Objective To observed the influence of preoperative enteral nutrition(EN) on postoperative nutritional status, immune function and complications in elderly patients with colorectal cancer complicating nutritional risk. Methods The NRS2002 nutritional risk screening criteria was used to select 70 elderly patients with colorectal cancer complicating nutritional risk, including 36 cases in the EN group and 34 cases in the control group. The EN support was given in the ENN group on preoperative 3 d.The levels of plasma total protein, prealbumin, albumin, transferrin, total lymphocyte count, plasma D-lactate(D-LAC) and plasma diamine oxidase (DAO) were detected on postoperative 1,3,5 7 d.The intraoperative intestinal cleanliness and postoperative complications were observed. Results The levels of plasma total protein, prealbumin, albumin, transferrin and total lymphocyte count in the EN group were significantly higher than those in the control group and the levels of D-LAC and DAO,and the incidence rates of abdominal infection and wound infection were significantly lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant differences in the incidence rates of intestinal cleanliness and anastomotic leakage between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Preoperative EN support therapy in the patients with colorectal cancer complicating nutritional risk can significantly improve clinical prognosis.
