Chinese Journal of Rheumatology 2008;12(4):245-249
Objective To explore the clinical significance of osteopontin (OPN) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and its pathogenic role in SLE by studying the correlation between OPN and clinical manifestations, laboratory parameters and disease activity. Methods The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to measure the level of OPN in serum of 68 SLE patients and 20 healthy controls.the clin-ical data and laboratory parameters were recorded. Results The positive rate of OPN was 79.41%in 68 SLEpatients and could not be detected in healthy controls.Compared with healthy controls.the positive rate and level of OPN in SLE patients was significantly higher(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in age.gender and disease duration between OPN positive and negative lupus patients(P>0.05).The Drevalence of fever, hair loss,WBC decrease, liver damage, serum C4 decrease, proteinuria and anti-dsDNA antibody in OPN positive SLE were significantly higher than those of OPN negative SLE(P<0.05).The positive rate of serum OPN in SLE patients was significantly higher than that of anti-dsDNA antibody and anti-Sm antibody (P<0.01).The level of plasma OPN was associated with systemic lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI)(r=0.292,P<0.05).The positive rate and level of OPN in active SLE patients was significantly higher than that of inactive SLE patients(P<O.05).Conclusion The level of plasma OPN has a close rela-tionship with the activity of SLE.It may serve as an active disease marker of SLE.

Objective To evaluate the effect of small dose ketamine on the efficacy of intravenous PCA (POA) with sufentanil after intra-abdominal surgery in aged patients. Methods Sixty ASA Ⅰ orⅡpatienm aged 65-82 yr undergoing elective intra-abdominal surgery under general anesthesia were randomized into 3 groups (n=20 each)according to the composition of PCIA solution:group I sufentanil 200 μg in 200 ml of noilnal saline (group S);group μ sufentanil 200μh+ketmine 100 mg in NS 200 ml(group K1)and group Ⅲ sufentannil 200 μg+ketmine 200 mg in NS 200 ml(group K2).A loading dose of 5 ml wag given at the end of operation. The PCIA setting was as follows:backgound infusion 1 ml/h,bolus dose 2 ml,lockout interval 5 min and 4-hour maximum dose 30 m1.If VAS score(0=no pain,10=womt pain)was≥7,pethidine 25 mg was given iv.The total amount of pethidine given within 48 h after operation and postoperative complications including nausea and vomiting and respiratory depression were recorded. Results Small dose ketamine added to the PCIA solution can significantly reduce the amount of pethidine administered after operation in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Small dose ketamine can improve the efficacy of PCIA with sufentanil after intra-abdominal surgery in aged patients with no significant adverse effect.

With its important functions as load-bearing, shock absorption, stabilization, lubrication and congruency, the meniscus plays an important part in the complex biomechanics of the knee joint. Therefore it is still a challenging question for knee surgeons to reconstruct the function of meniscus which was injured or resected. This review details current efforts to transplant or to replace a meniscus.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(09):-
Objective To observe the correlation between the C-myc expression and pathologic lesions of kidney to explore the role of C-myc re-expression in children's primary nephrotic syndrome(CPNS). Methods The C-myc expression of renal tissue in 30 cases of CPNS was detected using immunohistochemical method, and the correlation between C-myc expression and renal pathological lesions was analyzed. Results There were various degrees of C-myc positive staining in the renal tissue of all patients with CPNS, while no C-myc positive expression in the renal tissue of control group. C-myc expression was mainly located in podocytes and less in endothelial cells of glomeruli. There was high level of C-myc expression in nephric tubules, especially in proximate tubules. There was no C-myc expression in the Henle's loop, tubulous matrix and vessel areas. There was no obvious difference in C-myc expression level in the podocytes and proximate tubules among the different pathological types of CPNS. The level of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis(FSGS) in proximate tubules obviously reduced compared with mesangil proliferative glomerulonephritis(MsPGN) and minimal change disease(MCD)(P

Objective To study the effects of Grape Procyanidins(GPC)on hemorheology in long distance runner.Method In vitro study: 22 long distance runners were divided into two groups randomly, the experimental group and control group. With ten days period, the experimental group was given GPC 200 mg per day;while the control group were given the capsule of starch 200 mg per day.In vivo study: the vein blood samples were taken from 5 long distance runners and every example was divided into five parts, and then treated with different concentrations of GPC or H2O2.Items of the hemorheology such as Er,HCT,Eb,Ep,PFC and VAI were tested both in vivo and vitro before and after the study. Results in vitro study: all items of the experimental group showed significant decline at then end of the study than those before the study. The contents of Er,Eb and Ep before the study(6.830?0.164,4.145?0.177,1.647?0.020,respectively) were significantly higher than those after the study(6.759?0.158,4.088?0.173,1.621?0.013,respectively)(P

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2011;45(1):46-49
Objective To study the CT perfusion features of various lymph nodes in the neck. Methods Dynamic perfusion CT scanning was performed in 83 neck lymph nodes proved by pathology, including tuberculosis lymph nodes, lymphoma and metastatic lymph nodes. The shapes, blood flow modes, and perfusion parameters of these lymph nodes were compared among 3 groups. Statistical analysis of L/T and CT perfusion parameters was performed by one-way ANOVA and LSD test. Results The values of MTT of tuberculosis lymph nodes, lymphoma and metastatic lymph nodes were (28. 13 ±5.08), (31.08 ±5.82),and ( 11.24 ±5.31 ) s,respectively. The MTT of metastatic lymph nodes was statistically lower than that of tuberculosis lymph nodes and lymphoma (P < 0. 05). Their frequencies of marginal blood flow were 5/9,4/19, and 39/55 (70. 9% ), respectively. The frequency of marginal blood flow in the tuberculosis lymph nodes and metastatic lymph nodes was statistically higher than that of lymphoma ( P < 0. 05 ). Their frequencies of central blood flow were 2/9, 11/19, and 9/55 (16.4%), respectively. The frequency of central blood flow in the lymphoma was statistically higher than that of tuberculosis lymph nodes and metastatic lymph nodes ( P < 0. 05 ). Their values of L/T were 1.82 ± 0. 32, 1. 80 ± 0. 39, and 1.84 ± 0. 36,(40. 98 ±6. 62) s,respectively. There were no significant differences in L/T, BF, BV and TTP among tuberculosis lymph nodes, lymphoma and metastatic lymph nodes( P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion CT perfusion, especially combination functional imaging with perfusion images may be helpful in judging the nature of neck lymph nodes.
