Aim To explore the effect of Baicalein and its mechanism on the invasion and migration of human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells. Methods The effect of Baicalein on cell viability was tested by MTT.The cell invasion and migration were determined by transwell chamber model. The cell movement capability was determined by cell scratch assay. The expressions of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)2 and 9,urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA)were detected by Western blot. Results 50,100 ?mol?L-1 of Baicalein inhibited significantly cell invasion(P

Objective To investigate the association between arterial stiffness of the common carotid artery(CCA)and insulin resistance in hemodialysis patients. Methods Arterial stiffness index β of CCA was evaluated by an ultrasonic phase-lock Echo-tracking system in 80stable non-diabetic hemodialysis patients.Insulin resistance was detected by the homeostasis model assessment method(HOMA-IR).Plasma hemoglobin, serum albumin, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein,triglyceride,lipoprotein(a),ApoA1,ApoB,CRP,calcium,phosphorus and creatinine were determined by standard methods. Results The stiffness index β was 11.41±4.13 in patients with previous cardiovascular disease(CVD)and 9.75±3.63 in those without CVD(P<0.05).The stiffness index β was positively correlated with HOMA-IR(r=0.321,P<0.01),as well as with age(r=0.376,P<0.01),pulse pressure(r=0.267,P<0.05),and duration of hemodialysis(r=0.219,P<0.05).In stepwise multiple regression analysis,HOMA-IR(β=0.228,P<0.05)and age(β=0.308,P<0.01)were identified as significant independent variables for stiffness index β of CCA. Conclusions Insulin resistance is associated with aaefial stiffness in nondiabetic hemodialysis patients. The increased arterial stiffness may be the link between insulin resistance and cardiovascular morbidity as well as mortality in hemodialysis patients.

Objective:To investigate the mediating roles of the fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction between the basic psychological needs satisfaction and phubbing behavior among high school students. Methods:In April 2022, a cross-sectional design survey was conducted on 14 666 high school students. All participants were evaluated by the basic psychological needs scales(BPNS), generic scale of phubbing(GSP), trait-state fear of missing out scale(T-S FOMOS) and mobile phone addiction index(MPAI). The SPSS 26.0 software was used to conduct common method deviation test, descriptive statistics, and correlation analysis.PROCESS 4.1 was used to construct the model, and the Bootstrap method was used to test for mediating effects.Results:(1)Among the 14 036 high school students, there were 1 752 (12.48%) students who were addicted to mobile phones. There were significant differences in gender in the scores including BPNS(boy: 4.43±0.79, girl: 4.36±0.79), GSP(boy: 2.72±1.01, girl: 2.76±1.03) and T-S FOMOS(boy: 1.73±0.60, girl: 1.84±0.64), ( t=5.22, -10.58, -2.78, all P<0.01). Among different grades, there were significant differences in the scores of BPNS, T-S FOMOS, MPAI, and GSP( F=25.43, 39.50, 53.45, 14.59, all P<0.01). (2)Basic psychological needs score were positively correlated with fear of missing out, mobile phone addiction and phubbing( r=-0.432--0.294, all P<0.01). Phubbing were negatively correlated with fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction( r=0.744, 0.538, both P<0.01). Fear of missing out were negatively correlated with mobile phone( r=0.646, P<0.01). (3)The basic psychological needs satisfaction had a direct effect on phubbing behavior, and the effect value was -0.188 (95% CI: -0.173--0.204). The mediating effect of fear of missing out between the basic psychological needs satisfaction and phubbing behavior was -0.035(95% CI: -0.028--0.042). The mediating effect of mobile phone between the basic psychological needs satisfaction and phubbing behavior was -0.203(95% CI: -0.191--0.214). Fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction played a chain mediating role between them, and the mediating effect value was -0.134(95% CI: -0.125--0.143), which accounted for 23.93%(-0.134/-0.560) of the total effect. Conclusion:The high level basic psychological needs satisfaction can alleviate the occurrence of phubbing behavior. It may be achieved by decreasing fear of missing out and reducing mobile phone addiction.

Objective To analyze the incidence and risk factors of postoperative pulmonary complications(PPCs)in elderly patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS).Methods Elderly patients aged≥65 years who underwent VATS in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2013 to December 2017,were reviewed retrospectively and divided into non-PPCs group and PPCs group.General information, past medi-cal history, and postoperative complications were recorded in a uniform case report form. The clinical factors with statistical significance in univariate analysis and important clinical significance according to experience were ana-lyzed with Logistic regression to evaluate the independent risk factors for PPCs.Results A total of 900 patients were included, and 48(5.3%)of them suffered PPCs.Multivariate logistic regression showed that pre-operative smoking history, history of stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)and pulmonary lobectomy were independent risk factors for PPCs in elderly patients after VATS.Conclusions Elderly patient is a high-risk group for PPCs after VATS.The risk factors include smoking history, stroke,COPD and scope of surgery. Therefore, perioperative management needs to optimize, and monitoring should be strengthened for these high-risk patients.
