3.Mild Cognitive Impairment
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2008;16(11):858-861
Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a new concept put forward in recent years. It is a transtrional state between normal aging and dementia.Prospective studies have shown that the orbebility of the patients with MCI converted to dementia is significantly higher than the normal aged.population.The correct diagnosis of MCI contributes to screen the high-risk population of dementia. It will provide the possibility for preventing dementia and decreasing the morbidity of dementia.
4.Research development in informatics entropy of neural coding
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2006;0(06):-
With the development of brain research, study of neural coding has attracted more attention. Neural coding by informatics entropy is a very important aspect in the research field. This paper presents an overview of typical entropy coding methods of neuronal spike train including binary string method, direct method, asymptotically unbiased estimator method, inter-spike interval and mutual information method. Related principles and application are reviwed.
5.Molecular structure and regulate mechanisms of the peptidyl prolyl cis/trans isomerase Pin1
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(05):-
The peptidyl prolyl cis/trans isomerase Pin1 specifically binds phosphorylated Ser/Thr-Pro protein motifs and catalyzes the cis/trans isomerization of the peptide bond, changes the conformation and influences the stability and activity of the substrates. To date,a subset of proteins has been identified as substrates for Pin1.Pin1 interacts with its substrates and plays crucial roles in cell cycle, neural pathology and immune response.Accumulating studies have revealed that Pin1 isomerase activity is regulated by its post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and oxidation.Over-expression or regulative imbalance of Pin1 plays an important role in the pathogenesis and therapeutics of human diseases such as cancer and AD.
6.Clinical Analysis of 65 Children with Malignant Lymphoma
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1993;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of children malignant lymphoma.Method A retrospective study was carried out to analyse the clinical, laboratory and pathological data in 65 patients with malignant lymphoma. Results In the chidren malignant lymphoma, the incidence of nonHodgkin′s lymphoma(NHL) was more than that of Hodgkin′s disease(HL),the ratio of NHL to HL was 2.25∶1.The peak incidence of age was among 6 to 9 years old,the ratio of male to female is about(3.5∶1.)NHL of our children was mostly consised of lymphoblastic lymphoma, anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and Burkitt′s lymphoma. The clinical manifestations were predominantly presented with peripheral nodes intumescing, mediastinal tumeur, abdominal tumeur, bone marrow infiltration. In patients with Hodgkin′s disease, mixed cellularity was the most common pathological category, and cervical painless lymphadenectasis was usually the initial signs in most patients, sometimes accompanied with infiltration of celiac lymph nodes, spleen and bone marrow. Conclusions NHL of our children differs from that of adult in the clinical feature and pathology, while HL of our patients is similar to adults.Since the prognosis of the malignant lymphoma is determined by its pathology, immunohistochemistry plays an important role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis.J Appl Clin Pediatr,2006,21(3):160-161
10.Compound Xuanju capsule for type III and type IV prostatitis: observation of therapeutic results.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(5):448-451
OBJECTIVETo investigate the efficacy and action mechanisms of Compound Xuanju Capsule (CXC) in the treatment of type III and type IV prostatitis.
METHODSThis study included 88 cases of type III and 18 cases of type IV prostatitis, 14 with male infertility, 27 with ED, and 8 with increased PSA levels. In addition to prostate massage and psychotherapy, the patients were treated with CXC, 3 capsules once, tid, for 3 months. Then changes in relevant indexes were evaluated by the self-control method.
RESULTSThe NIH-CPSI scores of the patients with type III prostatitis were decreased by 47.59% (22.17 +/- 3.48 vs 1.62 +/- 2.53) after 1 month and by 74.61% (22.17 +/- 3.48 vs 5.63 +/- 3.14) after 3 months of CXC medication, with statistically significant differences from the baseline in both the total score and the scores on specific items (P < 0.05). The patients with infertility showed significantly improved sperm quality after treatment as compared with premedication (sperm cone: [12.52 +/- 3.16] x 10(6)/ml vs [28.32 +/- 8.36] x 10(6)/ml, grade a sperm: [10.12 +/- 4.56]% vs [26.06 +/- 10.18]%, grade a + b sperm: [29.89 +/- 8.86]% vs [53.26 +/- 11.29]%) (P < 0.05), and 8 of the patients' spouses got pregnant. Nineteen of the patients with ED were cured, with significant differences in the IIEF-5 score from pretreatment (10.41 +/- 3.65 vs 19.78 +/- 3.00) (P < 0.05). The PSA level was reduced to normal in all the 8 abnormal cases. The WBC count was remarkably decreased and even returned to normal in 19 cases with WBC count > 100/HP ative culture results.
CONCLUSIONCompound Xuanju Capsule is efficacious for type III and type IV prostatitis and those complicated by infertility, ED, PSA elevation, WBC increase, and negative culture results, with no obvious adverse events.
