Objective To establish a molecular typing method (opa-typing) for Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and to evaluate its performance based on epidemiological data. Methods Twenty-six gonorrhea patients were recruited from March to April 2006 at two sites, including 17 cases from the STD Clinic of Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College and 9 cases from the STD Clinic of Shandong Provincial Institute of Dermatology. Of the 26 patients, 6 were from three known sexual links, while the remaining 20 patients did not have any sexual contact with each other. The opa gene was amplified by using PCR from Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates from these patients followed by overnight digestion with restriction enzymes Taq Ⅰ and Hpa Ⅱ. The enzyme digestion band patterns were analyzed using the Cel-Compar program. Results The opa gene was successfully amplified from all the 26 Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains, and restrictedly digested by endonucleases Taq Ⅰ and Hpa Ⅱ . Identical band patterns were observed between patients with sexual links, but not among the remaining 20 patients. Conclusions The results of opatyping of Neisseria gonorrhoeae coincide with the information on sexual behaviour provided by patients. Opatyping may serve as a reliable tool in sexual network analysis.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
The present study on 24 cases disclosed that the erythrocyte deformability(ED) of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was significantly lower than normal control. After incubate the patients' erythrocyte with Prop-lene Glycol Mannituse Sulfate(PGMS) and Pro-plene Glycol Alginate Sudium Sulfate (PSS ) , The ED was significantly higher than that of in-cubated without drug. PGMS was more effi-cious. The result indicated that PGMS and PSS may have high value in improving the microcir-culation of patient with AMI, increasing the blood flow of capilliaries in ischemic myocardium and reducing the area of infarction.

BACKGROUND:Zirconia is considered to be one ofthe promising prosthodontics materials because of its high strength, high hardness, excelent wear resistance and excelent corrosion resistance. However, the development of zirconia is hindered owing to the uncertainty in long-term stability of zirconiaal-ceramic crowns such as the cracking (chipping) of veneering porcelain and deterioration of mechanical properties of zirconia dental crowns under intraoral conditions.
OBJECTIVE:To summarize the preparation of zirconia bioceramic and its application progress in the field of prosthodontics.
METHODS:The properties, crystal structure, preparation and use of zirconia in prosthodontics were reviewed. Reasons that affected the stability of zirconia were also discussed. The future development of zirconia was forecasted.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Preparation of zirconia bioceramics involves the folowing aspects:powder synthesis, biscuit molding, and ceramic sintering. To improvethe istability of zirconia al-ceramic crowns,we optimize the preparation of zirconia powder topromotethe purity, mechanical properties, biological properties and stability. Furthermore, it is necessary to explore the effects of crystal nucleation, growth, second phase and grain size on crystal stability and biomechanical propertiesof thetooth abutment, as wel astoconduct an in-depth theoretical analysis on the effect oftooth abutmentand lattice matching of porcelain crowns on the interface.

Objective To explore the value of procalcitonin (PCT)and interleukin -6 (IL -6)in the early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of the patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, and their correlation with the course and lumbar function. Methods 100 patients with lumbar disc herniation (study group)and 35 patients with lumbar non -borne diseases (control group)were collected, their preoperative clinical symptoms were scored on the basis of the lumbar scoring system of Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA),the enzyme -linked immunosor-bent assay was applied to determining the content changes of PCT and IL -6 of the two groups, and the linear correla-tion analysis was used to explore the relevance of PCT and IL -6 to the course. Results The contents of the PCT and IL -6 in the study group's serum were respectively (25.13 ±0.86)ng/L and (10.26 ±0.36)ng/L,while those in the control group's serum were respectively (223.85 ±0.61)ng/L and (50.11 ±1.23)ng/L,both with statistical sig-nificance (t =2.542,2.206,P <0.01).The IL -6 was positively correlated with the disease duration of the patients with lumbar disc herniation (r =0.32,P =0.000),and negatively correlated with their JOA score (r =-0.45,P =0.003),and the PCT was positively correlated with the patients'disease duration (r =0.35,P =0.001),and nega-tively correlated with their JOA score (r =-0.53,P =0.005).Conclusion The PCT and IL -6 have a certain role in the early diagnosis of lumbar disc herniation, and have some relevance to the course of disease and the lumbar func-tion changes.

Objective To compare the effects of pressure bandage with ultrasound-guided compression repair (UGCR) for femoral artery pseudoaneurysms (FAPs) after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods One hundred and five patients with FAPs were enrolled in the study. Patients were classified into 2 groups (UGCR vs pressure bandage) according to different treatment modalities, and clinical status and therapeutic effects were compared. Results There were no differences between the two groups in gender, age, body mass index, type of intervention, sheath size,anti-platelet agents, low molecular weight heparin, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure during the procedure. The successful repair rate was higher in the UGCR group than that of the pressure bandage group (85% vs 63%,P =0.03). No complications occurred in both groups. Conclusion UGCR is simple and safe with low cost and complications, which can be used preferably for FAPs repair.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2002;0(01):-
Objective To explore the clinical effect of the percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) and filling auto-solidification calcium phosphate cement(CPC) in treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fractures. Methods From January, 2004, 26 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture (29 vertebral bodies) were treated with intraoperative manipulative reduction, PVP and filling auto-solidification CPC. Results PVP were successfully performed with unilateral or bilateral vertebral pedicles for the 29 vertebrae. The average injection dose of CPC was 4.6 mL. CPC leakage occurred during the procedure in 5 vertebrae of 5 cases. All the patients were followed up for 3 to 8 months (averaging 4.6 months) and experienced complete pain relief. There was no severe complication related to the treatment. Except in 3 patients who lost 15%of the vertebral body height, the anterior height of the injured vertebral body in the other 23 patients recovered averagely to 80%of the normal one. Conclusion PVP with filling auto-solidification CPC is safe and effective in the treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures.
