Objective To establish a molecular typing method (opa-typing) for Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and to evaluate its performance based on epidemiological data. Methods Twenty-six gonorrhea patients were recruited from March to April 2006 at two sites, including 17 cases from the STD Clinic of Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College and 9 cases from the STD Clinic of Shandong Provincial Institute of Dermatology. Of the 26 patients, 6 were from three known sexual links, while the remaining 20 patients did not have any sexual contact with each other. The opa gene was amplified by using PCR from Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates from these patients followed by overnight digestion with restriction enzymes Taq Ⅰ and Hpa Ⅱ. The enzyme digestion band patterns were analyzed using the Cel-Compar program. Results The opa gene was successfully amplified from all the 26 Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains, and restrictedly digested by endonucleases Taq Ⅰ and Hpa Ⅱ . Identical band patterns were observed between patients with sexual links, but not among the remaining 20 patients. Conclusions The results of opatyping of Neisseria gonorrhoeae coincide with the information on sexual behaviour provided by patients. Opatyping may serve as a reliable tool in sexual network analysis.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate mortality prediction by analyzing clinical features and pathogens of patients with candidemia in intensive care unit(ICU).METHODS The clinical data of candidemia cases admitted to ICU of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University in recent five years were analyzed retrospectively, including risk factors, accompanied diseases,Candida species, drug sensitivity, mortality and prognosis.RESULTS Seventy five cases with candidemia were diagnosed in recent five years.Single factor Logistic regression analysis combined with multiple conditional Logistic regression model analysis was conducted.Compared to other risk factors, indwelling central venous catheter(97.2% vs 74.3%,P=0.043,OR=6.4,95%CI 1.06-38.72),hypoproteinemia(91.7% vs 56.4%,P=0.020,OR=6.01,95%CI 1.33-27.0)and APACHEⅡ score(19.6?3.7 vs 15.0?3.8,P=0.00,OR=1.36,95%CI 1.15-1.62) were markedly different.CONCLUSIONS Candidemia cases in ICU increase gradually and lead to higher mortality.Indwelling central venous catheter, hypoproteinemia and APACHEⅡ score are related to mortality of candidemia cases.

Setting Li Dai Zhong Yao Pao Zhi Zi Liao Ji Yao as clue, this article searched each edition of China Pharmacopoeia, National Processing Standard of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued in 1988, and relevant materials of local processing standards and modern processing study, and concluded and combed the contents about Asari Radix et Rhizoma processing in ancient and modern literature. There are records about Asari Radix et Rhizoma processing methods in history, including net processing, cutting processing, heating processing and processing excipient. However, Asari Radix et Rhizoma processing methods in modern time are relatively simple. In addition to the version of the Processing Standard of Traditional Chinese Medicines in Shanghai issued in 2008, containing the honey Asari Radix et Rhizoma, other editions of China Pharmacopoeia and processing standards only recorded net processing and cutting processing. Recent research showed that processing methods of modern stir frying processing, alkali processing, wine processing, low temperature ultrafine comminution processing and so on, can effectively reduce the toxicity of Asari Radix et Rhizoma and enhance the safety of clinical application. This article summarized the history and research progress of Asari Radix et Rhizoma processing, and provided a reference for the study on modern processing.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of the percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) and filling auto-solidification calcium phosphate cement(CPC) in treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fractures. Methods From January, 2004, 26 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture (29 vertebral bodies) were treated with intraoperative manipulative reduction, PVP and filling auto-solidification CPC. Results PVP were successfully performed with unilateral or bilateral vertebral pedicles for the 29 vertebrae. The average injection dose of CPC was 4.6 mL. CPC leakage occurred during the procedure in 5 vertebrae of 5 cases. All the patients were followed up for 3 to 8 months (averaging 4.6 months) and experienced complete pain relief. There was no severe complication related to the treatment. Except in 3 patients who lost 15%of the vertebral body height, the anterior height of the injured vertebral body in the other 23 patients recovered averagely to 80%of the normal one. Conclusion PVP with filling auto-solidification CPC is safe and effective in the treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures.

Objective To study the optimum extration process of polysaccharides from Meretrix meretrix Linnaeus.A spectrophotometry method for content determination of polysaccharides from Meretrix meretrix Linnaeus was established with Phenol-sulfuric acid coloration. Methods The samples were extracted by ultrasonic wave, dissolved in 50mL,4mol?L~(-1) HCl and heated to hydrolyze by acid. The contents of polysaccharides from Meretrix meretrix Linnaeus were determined by spectrophotometry at 490nm.Results Extracted for thirty minutes by ultrasonic wave, two times, and acidic hydrolysis were the optimum technology. The calibration curve was linear over the range of 4.848~24.242mg?L~(-1).The regression equation was C=28.69A+0.229(r=0.9992).The average recovery rate was 100.67% and RSD was 2.83%(n=6).Conclusion The method was proved to be simple, accurate and reliable, and could be used to extract and determine the polysaccharides from Meretrix meretrix Linnaeus.

Objective To study the management of enterostomy in children. Methods The clinical data of 425 cases of enterostomy in children were analyzed retrospectively. Results The primary diseases of 425 cases underwent enterostomy included:intestinal perforation(119 cases),intestinal necrosis(36 cases),necrotizing enterocolitis(45 cases),congenital megacolon(61 cases),congenital anal atresia with rectourethral fistula(86 cases),and congenital anal atresia with rectovaginal fistula(78 cases).Among the 425 cases,159 cases underwent small bowel enterostomy and 266 cases had colostomy;single-stoma enterostomy was done in 225 cases, and double-stoma enterostomy in 197 cases.Follow-up was acquired in 389 patients, and all the stomas were closed successfully. The closure time of small bovvel enterostomy was 1-3 month(ayerage 1.87 months)later, and of colostomy was 3-12 month(averag 4.95 months)later. Conclusions When an enterostomy is to be adopted in pediatric surgery,a suitable time and enterostomal location should be chosen according to the state of illness. The timing of enterostomy closure is also very important.

Objective To investigate the pathogentic factor of severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)-associated lung injury and the protective function of octreotide combined with alinastatin on SAP-associated lung injury in rats. Methods Eighty SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups.Sham operative(S)group,SAP group,(octreotide)(O)group, ulinastatin(U)group and octreotide + ulinastatin (O+U)group, and each group was divided into 6h,12h sub-groups.After AP models were induced, the serum concentration of amylase(AMY),tumor necrosis factor?(TNF-?),malondiadehyde(MDA),and the concentration of(myeloperoxidase)(MPO) in lung tissue were determined;and the pancreas and lung pathology were graded, the changes of the above-mentioned indexes after using octreotide and ulinastatin were compared.Results(1)Compared to SAP group,AMY,TNF-?,MDA,MPO,and pancreas pathology score were decreased significantly in each of the 3 therapy groups during the same period;and at 12h,in O+U sub-group,lung pathology score also decreased compared to SAP group(P
