		                        			AIM:This study aim to investigate the effects of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation on the aging phenotype of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells(HSPCs)in the bone marrow(BM)and spleen of mice.METHODS:(1)Young(2-month old)wild-type(WT)mice were treated with LPS to establish an actue inflammation model.The percentage of HSPCs in the BM and spleen of mice after LPS stimulation,as well as the ratio of mature cells in peripheral blood(PB)and spleen,were analyzed using flow cytometry.The proliferation of HSPCs in the BM and spleen was evaluated by examining the expression of the proliferation marker Ki67.In addition,changes in CD45 expression on HSPCs in the spleen of mice following LPS exposure were investigated by flow cytometry.(2)The percentage of HSPCs in BM and mature cells in PB and spleen of both young(2-month old)and old(24-month old)WT mice were analyzed by flow cytometry.(3)The transcriptome changes of hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)after LPS stimulation was performed by an in silico analysis.RESULTS:(1)Mice exposed to LPS exhibited a significant increase in the percentage of HSPCs in BM and a marked elevation in the percentages of myeloid cells in PB and spleen compared to the mice in control group(P<0.05).(2)LPS exposure resulted in increased spleen weight and cell counts(P<0.05),along with a higher per-centage of HSPCs in the spleen compared to controls(P<0.05).(3)LPS stimulation promoted the proliferation of HSPCs in the BM and spleen(P<0.05).(4)The expression of CD45 was reduced on HSPCs from spleen of mice after LPS stimu-lation(P<0.01).(5)In comparison to young mice,aged mice showed an increase in spleen weight and a higher percent-age of HSPCs in the spleen(P<0.05).(6)Aged mice,in comparison to young mice,demonstrated a significantly higher percentage of HSPCs in the BM and myeloid skewing in the PB and spleen(P<0.01).(7)The silico analysis revealed up-regualtion of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and apoptosis signaling in HSPCs following LPS stimulation.CONCLU-SION:Young HSPCs stimulated by LPS exhibited an increase in cell number,a bias towards myeloid differentiation,en-hanced extramedullary hematopoiesis,and elevated levels of ROS and apoptosis,all of which collectively manifested the aging phenotype of HSPCs.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
3.Construction and application of a management process for enteral nutrition-associated diarrhea in postoperative esophageal cancer patients

		                        			Objective To explore the application effect of enteral nutrition-related diarrhea in postoperative esophageal cancer patients.Methods Based on literature search and expert meeting,a management process for enteral nutrition-associated diarrhea in postoperative esophageal cancer patients was constructed.A convenience sampling method was used to select a total of 68 patients with enteral nutrition-related diarrhea after esophageal cancer surgery admitted to the thoracic surgery department of a tertiary A cancer hospital in Jiangsu Province.Among them,patients admitted from January 2022 to December 2022 were set as an experimental group.The experimental group was implemented the management process for enteral nutrition-associated diarrhea in postoperative esophageal cancer patients.Those admitted from January 2021 to December 2021 were set as a control group with routine nursing.Then,the time of stopping diarrhea,the King's of Stool Chart(KSC-Tr)diarrhea score,and abnormal incidence of nutrition-related indexes,electrolytes abnormalities(low sodium,low potassium,and low calcium)were compared between 2 groups.Results The time of stopping diarrhea,KSC diarrhea score after 3 days of intervention and the time to achieve target feeding volume of the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in hemoglobin,albumin,prealbumin after 3 days of intervention,the incidence of electrolyte abnormalities(low sodium,low potassium,and low calcium)after 3 days of intervention,and the BMI index after 7 days of intervention between 2 groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The management process for enteral nutrition-associated diarrhea in postoperative esophageal cancer patients can reduce the time of diarrhea,improve the severity of diarrhea,and shorten the time to achieve the target feeding,but has no significant change in the incidence of electrolyte abnormalities.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
4.Palliative surgery versus simple medication therapy for secondary non-ischemic mitral regurgitation: A retrospective cohort study

		                        			Objective  To compare the effect of palliative mitral valve surgeries and medication therapies for secondary non-ischemic mitral regurgitation. Methods  The clinical data of patients with non-ischemic functional mitral regurgitation treated in our hospital between 2009 and 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients with a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)<40% underwent a dobutamine stress test, and a positive result was determined when the LVEF improved by more than 15% compared to the baseline value. Positive patients were divided into a surgery group and a medication group. The surgery group underwent surgical mitral valve repair or replacement, while the medication group received simple medication treatment. Follow-up on survival and cardiac function status through outpatient or telephone visits every six months after surgery, and patients underwent cardiac ultrasound examination one year after surgery. The main research endpoint was a composite endpoint of all-cause death, heart failure readmission, and heart transplantation, and the differences in cardiac function and cardiac ultrasound parameters between the two groups were compared. Results Ultimately 41 patients were collected, including 28 males and 13 females with an average age of 55.5±11.1 years. Twenty-five patients were in the surgery group and sixteen patients in the medication group. The median follow-up time was 16 months, ranging 1-96 months. The occurrence of all-cause death in the surgery group was lower than that in the medication group (HR=0.124, 95%CI 0.024-0.641, P=0.034). The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant in the composite endpoint (HR=0.499, 95%CI 0.523-1.631, P=0.229). The New York Heart Association (NYHA) grade of the surgery group was better (NYHA Ⅰ-Ⅱ accounted for 68.0% in the surgury group and 18.8% in the medication group, P<0.01) as well as the grade of mitral valve regurgitation (87.5% of the patients in the medication group had moderate or above regurgitation at follow-up, while all the patients in the surgery group had moderate below regurgitation, P<0.01). There was no statistical difference in preoperative and follow-up changes in echocardiograph parameters between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion  For non-ischemic functional mitral regurgitation, if the cardiac systolic function is well reserved, mitral valve surgery can improve survival and quality of life compare to simple medication therapy.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
5.Hepatoprotective activity of Zha xun from different sources of origin

		                        			 In this study, the pharmacodynamic substance basis of the therapeutic activity of different origin sources of the Tibetan medicinal herb Zha xun was evaluated, and the protective effect of the Zha xun, from Habahe county of Altay region, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; Gilgit region, Pakistan; Lhozhag county of Lhozhag city, Tibet Autonomous Region; Lhorong county of Chamdo city, Tibet Autonomous Region; and Jiulong county of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, on 0.2% carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced acute liver injury in ICR mice was evaluated. The results showed that different sources of Zha xun significantly reduced serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the CCl4-induced acute oxidative liver injury model, improved liver histopathological damage. 6.Association between muscle mass and quality of life in Shaanxi adults.

		                        			Objective: To investigate the association between muscle mass and quality of life in adults in Shaanxi adults. Methods: The data in this analysis were part of the baseline survey of the Regional Ethnic Cohort Study in Northwest China from June 2018 to May 2019 in Shaanxi Province. The participants' quality of life, including physical component summary (PCS) and mental component summary (MCS), was assessed by the 12-Item Short Form Survey, and the Body Fat Determination System measured muscle mass. A logistic regression model with adjustment for confounding factors was established to analyze the association between muscle mass and quality of life in different genders. Further, sensitivity and subgroup analyses were conducted to explore its stability. Finally, a restricted cubic spline was employed to investigate the dose-response relationship between muscle mass and quality of life in different genders. Results: A total of 20 595 participants were included, with an average age of 55.0, and 33.4% were male. After controlling for potential confounders, compared with the Q1 group, the risk of low PCS was reduced by 20.6% (OR=0.794, 95%CI: 0.681-0.925) and the risk of low MCS was lower reduced by 20.1% (OR=0.799, 95%CI: 0.689-0.926) in female Q5 groups. Compared with the Q1 group, the risk of low PCS was reduced by 24.4% (OR=0.756, 95%CI: 0.644-0.888) in the male Q2 group. However, no significant association between muscle mass and MCS in males has been found. In females, restricted cubic spline analysis showed a significant linear dose-response relationship between muscle mass and PCS and MCS. Conclusions: There is a positive association between muscle mass and quality of life in Shaanxi adults, especially females. 7.Classification of main pancreatic duct and treatment strategy after linear stapler closure of pancreatic neck in laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy

		                        			Objective:To investigate the classification of main pancreatic duct and treatment strategy after linear stapler closure of pancreatic neck in laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD).Methods:The records of 51 consecutive patients with LPD who were treated by linear staple closure technique of pancreatic neck from February to December 2022 from Binzhou Second People′s Hospital, Shijingshan Campus, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University, Rizhao Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic-Splenic Surgery Research Institute, Chaoyang Central Hospital, Shandong Juxian People′s Hospital, Weihai Municipal Hospital, Binzhou Central Hospital, and Affiliated Hospital of Chifeng University were retrospectively reviewed. According to the visibility, position and diameter of the main pancreatic duct at the stump of the pancreas, the type of main pancreatic duct was divided into type I, type Ⅱ, type Ⅲa and type Ⅲb. The number of cases in each main pancreatic duct classification and the corresponding treatment strategies were examined.Results:A total of 51 cases of LPD were successfully completed. Of these patients, the males comprised 56.9%(29/51), and females comprised 43.1%(22/51), with age ranging from 31 to 88 years old. The type of the main pancreatic duct at the stump of the pancreas included 7 cases (13.7%) of type Ⅰ, 39 cases (76.5%) of type Ⅱ, 2 cases (3.9%) of type Ⅲa, and 3 cases (5.9%) of type Ⅲb. Corresponding treatment strategies were adopted according to different main pancreatic duct types, the main pancreatic duct was successfully found, and a support drainage tube was inserted.Conclusion:After linear stapler closure of pancreatic neck, corresponding treatment strategies should be adopted according to the classification of the main pancreatic duct, which would help to improve the success rate of finding the main pancreatic duct and placing a support drainage tube.

9. Expression and localization of vascular endothelial growth factor-B in diencephalon and brainstem related tissues of the Yak’s brain

		                        			 Objective To explore the expression and distribution characteristics of vascular endothelial growth factor-B(VEGF-B) in diencephalon and brainstem of Yak’s brain tissues, and to investigate the associations between its expression and hypoxia adaptation. Methods Five healthy yaks were selected, and the brain tissues were divided and collected according to the gross anatomical structure of the brain, including pituitary, thalamus, hypothalamus, oblongata and pons. The characteristics of expression and location of VEGF-B in different regions of Yak’s brain tissues were detected by Real-time PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemical techniques. Results The results showed that the highest expression level of VEGF-B mRNA of yak brain tissue was in the pituitary, and the content was significantly higher than that found in other parts of the brain(P<0. 05). Following the expressions were in the hypothalamus, thalamus and medulla oblongata, while the lowest expression level was in pons. The expression level of VEGF-B protein in Yak’s brain tissue was similar to the mRNA expression level except that the thalamus was higher than that of hypothalamus. The result of immunohistochemistry showed that VEGF-B protein-positive substances were mainly distributed in the cytoplasm of various types of cells. Among them, the positive staining of VEGF-B was mainly concentrated in eosinophils of pituitary. The positive staining of VEGF-B was mainly concentrated in pleomorphic cells of thalamus and hypothalamus. The distribution of VEGF-B protein-positive substances were mainly focused in nerve cell body of medulla oblongata and pons. Conclusion VEGF-B protein is expressed in both diencephalon and brainstem of yak, which may be closely related to its functions of anti-apoptosis, "survival factor" and angiogenesis. However, the specific mechanism of its neuroprotective effect on Yak brain under hypoxic environment needs to be further studied. 10.Effects of Epidural Labor Analgesia plus Dexmedetomidine on Postpartum Depression in Parturients: A Prospective Study

		                        			ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of epidural analgesia plus dexmedetomidine infusion on postpartum depression in parturients with natural childbirth. MethodsWe selected 70 parturients aged between 22 and 36, with singleton, term, cephalic presentation, natural delivery and ASA class I or Ⅱ. The cases undergoing epidural analgesia with ropivacaine and sufentanil were randomly divided into two groups by using a random number table (n=35 for each group). The control group (Group C) used intravenous infusion of normal saline, while the experimental group (Group D) used equivalent volumes of intravenous infusion of dexmedetomidine. Participants were followed up at 1, 6, 12 weeks after childbirth to assess the severity of postpartum depression. Blood samples were collected at 12 h and 48 h after childbirth to measure the serum prolactin levels. The hemodynamic (HR and MAP) changes, VAS scores, and Ramsay scores were recorded at five time points: before analgesia (T1), 10 min after analgesia (T2), 30 min after analgesia (T3), 12 h (T4) and 24 h (T5) after delivery. The number of analgesia pump presses and adverse events were also documented. ResultsCompared with Group C, Group D showed significantly lower EPDS scores at 1 week after childbirth, significantly higher prolactin concentrations at 12 h and 48 h after childbirth, significantly lower VAS scores at T2, T3 and T4, significantly higher Ramsay score at T3 and significantly reduced number of analgesia pump presses (P < 0.05). ConclusionEpidural analgesia plus intravenous infusion of dexmedetomidine can alleviate early postpartum depression in women undergoing natural delivery, promote early prolactin secretion and provide a safe and effective adjunctive analgesic and sedative effect.
