5.Analysis of rDNA ITS sequences of Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae and plants of Salvia L.
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(09):-
Objective To study the genetic diversity of ITS sequences of Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae (RRSM) and plants of Salvia L. and analyze the utility of ITS sequences in molecular authentication of RRSM and phylogenetic of plants of Salvia L. Methods The ITS gene fragment was amplified using a pair of primers. The PCR products were purified and sequenced by the methods of Sanger dideoxy. Results The DNA sequence of 222-224 bp ITS1, 220-223 bp ITS2 gene fragments and 5.8S rDNA were obtained from 13 samples of Salvia L. The interspecific substitution varied from 0% to 12.16% at ITS1 and 0.5% to 13.51% at ITS2. The intraspecific substitution of RRSM is 0% to 0.9% at ITS1 and 0% to 0.5% at ITS2. The substitution between group of Salvia L. and outgroup varied from 16.07% to 20.27% at ITS1 and 15.91% to 20.27% at ITS2. The phylogenetic tree based on ITS1 and ITS2 data was set up. Conclusion The ITS1 and ITS2 gene fragments are highly conservative at intraspecific level in RRSM, while they are less conservative at interspecific level in Salvia L. They are least conservative between group of Salvia L. and outgroup. Hence, the sequence of this fragment is a good molecular marker for authentication of RRSM and can be used for further study on the phylogenesis for plants of Salvia L.
6.Clinical analysis of incomplete Beh et′s disease
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2003;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the clinical diagnosis and treatment of incomplete Beh et′s disease. Methods The clinical data of 52 patients (83 eyes ) with incomplete Beh et′s disease were retrospectively analysed. Visual acuity and results of examination of slit-lamp microscope, ocular fundus, and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) were observed and analysed. All of patients were treated by local cycloplegic, systemic treatment with glucocorticoid and cytoxan. The followed-up period was 1 year or more. Results Recurrent hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle, and hyperaemia of optic papilla was found in 54 and 41 eyes, respectively. The results of FFA showed that abnormal changes were found in all of the eyes. There was vascular leakage and staining of optic papilla at the early and late stage in 83 eyes (100%), diffuse leakage of retinal capillary vessel in 83 eyes (100%), and leakage of affected branch of retinal vessel and staining of the vascular wall at the late stage in 71 eyes (85.54%).After the treatment, the disease recovered completely in 20 patients (26 eyes), recovered partly in 20 (33 eyes), and alleviated in 12 (24 eyes). No patients suffered from hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle and hyperemia of optic papilla. None of the patients had oral ulcer, genital ulcer or arthritis until the last day of the follow-up. Conclusions Recurrent hypopyon, papillitis, and retinal vasculitis were the main clinical manifestations of incomplete Beh et′s disease. FFA redounds to the diagnosis of the disease and timely application of cycloplegic and systemic application of glucocorticoid and cytoxan may inhibit the aggravation of the disease effectively.

The clinical efficacy of two groups were observed.?RESULTS:The total effective rate (96%) in experimental group was significantly better than that in the control group ( 76%) , and the visual acuity, filtering bleb and postoperative 1wk, 1a of intraocular pressure changes were better than those of the control group, there was a statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). The rate of complications in experimental group ( 10%) was slightly higher than that of the control group (7%), but there was no statistically significant difference (P>0. 05).? CONCLUSlON: Trabeculectomy combined mitomycin and interferon treatment of neovascular glaucoma has exact clinical effect, and is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
8. Effect of Salvia mildorrhiza extracts on formation of morphine physical dependence in mice and its possible mechanism
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2011;42(3):535-537
Objective: To observe the action of Salvia miltiorrhiza extracts (SmE2, liposoluble constituents) on the formation of physical dependence induced by morphine in mice and the effects of SmE2 on the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and nitric oxide (NO) in brain of morphine-dependent mice. Methods: Morphine-dependent mice model was established by sc injection of morphine at a gradual increasing dosage. The effect of SmE2 on the withdrawal symptoms induced by Naloxone in morphine-dependent mice was observed. cAMP and NO content in brain were determined through radioimmunoassay and nitrate reductase, respectively. Results: SmE2 (80 mg/kg) could remarkably reduce the withdrawal symptoms in morphine-dependent mice. The cAMP concentration in brain showed no obvious change in morphine-dependent mice treated with SmE2, but NO content in brain could significantly be reduced. Conclusion: SmE2 has effect on relieving the withdrawal symptoms in morphine-dependent mice with down-regulation of NO content in brain as possible mechanism.
