Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2003;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the clinical diagnosis and treatment of incomplete Beh et′s disease. Methods The clinical data of 52 patients (83 eyes ) with incomplete Beh et′s disease were retrospectively analysed. Visual acuity and results of examination of slit-lamp microscope, ocular fundus, and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) were observed and analysed. All of patients were treated by local cycloplegic, systemic treatment with glucocorticoid and cytoxan. The followed-up period was 1 year or more. Results Recurrent hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle, and hyperaemia of optic papilla was found in 54 and 41 eyes, respectively. The results of FFA showed that abnormal changes were found in all of the eyes. There was vascular leakage and staining of optic papilla at the early and late stage in 83 eyes (100%), diffuse leakage of retinal capillary vessel in 83 eyes (100%), and leakage of affected branch of retinal vessel and staining of the vascular wall at the late stage in 71 eyes (85.54%).After the treatment, the disease recovered completely in 20 patients (26 eyes), recovered partly in 20 (33 eyes), and alleviated in 12 (24 eyes). No patients suffered from hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle and hyperemia of optic papilla. None of the patients had oral ulcer, genital ulcer or arthritis until the last day of the follow-up. Conclusions Recurrent hypopyon, papillitis, and retinal vasculitis were the main clinical manifestations of incomplete Beh et′s disease. FFA redounds to the diagnosis of the disease and timely application of cycloplegic and systemic application of glucocorticoid and cytoxan may inhibit the aggravation of the disease effectively.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(26):-
Magnetic resonance imaging has shown its important role in both early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and revealing the Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis.Structural magnetic resonance imaging include lineal mesure, volume measure and volume rendered. They can detect the abnormal brain structure, especially the change of mesial temporal lobe(hippocampus, amygdale) in early onset of Alzheimer's disease.Recent studies more focused on functional imaging which can find the functional changes in brain.Prior to structural changes, functional changes happen,so it can reflect the sutile pathological process in Alzheimer's disease. The functional imaging mainly refers to magnetic resonance spectroscopy, functional magnetic resonance imaging, diffusion weighted imaging and diffusion tensor imaging. As developing of these new technologies,we know more and more about pathogenesis and biological characteristics of Alzheimer's disease.

Objective To investigate the expression of insulin-like growth factor Ⅱ mRNA binding protein 3 (IMP3) in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and its relationship with the tumor recurrence and progression. Methods IMP3 protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 130 cases of nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer specimens who underwent transurethral resection the first time at Beijing Chao-Yang hospital, from October 2010 to October 2013.Besides,we analyzed 20 cases of muscle-invasive samples and 20 benign tissues adjacent to cancer as control. The 130 patients were followed up by telephone and other methods.According to the UICC-TNM standard.Survival analysis was calculated by using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the difference in survival curves was analyzed by using the log-rank test. For multiple analyses,The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used. Results The positive expression rate of IMP3 in 130 patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer was 59.2% (77/130),of which 30.0% (39/130) was weak expression,29.2% (38/130) was strong. However there was 80.0% (16/20) in muscle-invasive specimens,of which 20.0% (4/20) was weak,60.0% (12/20) was strong (P =0.011).IMP3 was not detected in all benign tissues adjacent to cancer (P <0.001).All the 130 patients were followed-up for 5 to 69 mnonths,45 cases experienced disease recurrence,20 patients had progressed and 12 cases died.IMP3 expression was significantly related to higher tumor stage (P < 0.001),high tumor grade (P =0.014),and tumor recurrence (P =0.003).Kaplan-Meier plots and log-rank tests showed that patients with IMP3-positive tumors had a lower disease-free survival (P =0.002) and progression-free survival rate (P =0.010) than those with IMP3-negative tumors. In the multivariable Cox analysis,we found that IMP3 protein was an independent predictor of disease-free survival (P =0.010) in non-muscle invasive urothelial carcinoma of bladder. Conclusions IMP3 was not expressed in benign tissue adjacent to cancer, whereas highly expressed in bladder cancer, and high IMP3 expression is an independent prognostic factor in NMIBC that can identify the patients with a high potential to relapse.

Objective To explore the phenomenon of neural apoptosis after chronic compressive spinal cord injury. Methods A newly designed chronic progressive compressive spinal cord injury model of rat was adopted in this study. Forty-five Wister rats were divided into mild, moderate, and severe group according to the compressive degree of the spinal cord. The Feulgen stain and TUNEL were used to investigate the apoptosis and its characteristics in different kinds of neural cells. Results Apoptosis index in moderate injury group was the highest. Apoptotic cells largely located in ventral, lateral and dorsal column of the white matter. Most of them were oligodendrocytes. Positive neuron occasionally presented in laminae Ⅲ~Ⅸ part of the sections. Most of them located in dorsal gray horn. Conclusions Apoptosis is an important event in secondary pathophysiological process of chronic progressive compressive spinal cord injury. Apoptosis is one of the reasons for neural cell death. The apoptosis of oligodendrocytos may contribute to myelin sheath disruption of white matter.
