Peony and Licorice Decoction was effective in treating Restless leg syndrome(RLS) with the function of nourishing yin for softening liver,relaxing spasm and relieving pain.Clinical practice,ancient literature and Chinese medicine theory were comprehensively studied to conclude that blood stasis is the key cause of RLS.Promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis was the crucial therapy for RLS.

A NTC thermistor-based wearable body temperature sensor was designed. This paper described the design principles and realization method of the NTC-based body temperature sensor. In this paper the temperature measurement error sources of the body temperature sensor were analyzed in detail. The automatic measurement and calibration method of ADC error was given. The results showed that the measurement accuracy of calibrated body temperature sensor is better than ± 0.04 degrees C. The temperature sensor has high accuracy, small size and low power consumption advantages.

The paper introduced a therapeutic method of lower-resistant state therapy in the treatment of hysterical aphasia.This method was rapid and effective comparing to other therapeutic methods,showing great clinical values.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of sleep regulation technique of thought imprint psychotherapy in lower resistant state (TIP) for the treatment of primary insomnia.Methods 45 hospitalized outpatients with primary insomnia from sleep medical clinic of Guang'anmen Hospital were randomized at a 2 ∶ 1 ratio into a therapy group and a control group using random table.In the therapy group,patients received sleep regudation technique of TIP twice per week.In the control group,patients were asked to take zopiclone 3.75mg per night 30 minutes before bedtime.And the maximum dose can be 7.5mg according to their condition.The treatment lasted one month.Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) was used to assess sleep quality.Results ① After 4 weeks treatment,the clinical efficacy showed significant difference between the two groups (therapy group was 80％,control group was 33.3％).② Inner group comparison:therapy group was significantly improved in PSQI sleep quality (1.20 ± 0.71),sleep latency(1.53 ±1.01),sleep time(1.23 ±0.82),sleep efficiency(0.90±1.21),sleep disorders (1.30±0.65),sleep medication(0.13±1.36),daytime function (1.67±0.99),total score(8.30±3.19),(P＜0.05); the control group was significantly improved in the PSQI sleep quality(1.60±0.91),sleep latency(1.87±0.64),(P＜0.05).③ Inter group comparison:after treatment,compared to the control group,the therapy group was superior in the sleep latency,sleep time,sleep efficiency,sleep medication,daytime function,and total score ofPSQI (P＜0.05).Conclusion Sleep regulation techmique of thought imprint psychotherapy in lower resistant state can improve sleep quality of primary insomniacs.

Objective To explore the dynamic variation rule of drainage fluid parathyroid hormone ( dPTH) , serum parathyroid hormone ( PTH) and serum calcium after thyroidectomy .According to the variation rule, the survival , function and prognosis of the parathyroid which retained at the original place can be predicted . Methods From Apr.2012 to Aug.2012, 90 patients who underwent thyroidectomy in Thyroid Surgery Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were chosen as the research object .All of the objects'operations were performed by the same surgeon team and they were divided into four groups according to different surgical methods ( group A:bilateral thyroidectomy group , group B:bilateral thyroidectomy and central neck dis-section group , group C: bilateral thyroidectomy and functional neck dissection group , and group D: unilateral thyroidectomy group ) .Parathyroid retention situation during operation and the occurrence of hypocalcaemia after operation were recorded .Blood samples were taken between 7am and 8am in the 4 consecutive days after opera-tion to detect serum calcium and serum parathyroid hormone .All of the 90 patients had the drainage tube and their drainage fluid were taken for testing dPTH .The levels of serum calcium , PTH and dPTH were analyzed by statistical analysis of repetitive measure analysis of variance ( ANOVA) .Results The mean postoperative maxi-mum serum calcium was in group D and the minimum was in group C .There was no obvious difference in terms of serum calcium between group A and group B .However , the serum calcium showed an upward trend in each group.The mean postoperative maximum PTH was in group D and the difference has statistical significance com -pared to the other 3 surgical methods.The minimum was in group B and group C .However, it showed an upward trend with time in each group .The difference of dPTH in each group had no statistical significance and it showed a downward trend in all the 4 groups.Low serum calcium and hypocalcaemia occurred to 22 cases and 13 cases respectively after operation .The low serum calcium cases in each group were 12, 3, 4 and 2 respectively and hy-pocalcaemia cases in each group were 4, 3, 1 and 1 respectively.Conclusions By monitoring dPTH, PTH and serum calcium after thyroidectomy , the survival and function of parathyroid retained at the original place can be e-valuated comprehensively .Furthermore, it also helps to estimate prognosis .dPTH at a high level after operation is a direct evidence that parathyroid retained at the original place survives .Low PTH and high dPTH after thyroid-ectomy illustrates the operation just affects the way that PTH secreted into blood and the parathyroid retained at the original place can still secrete large amount of PTH .PTH will return to normal gradually with reconstruction and healing of microcirculation around parathyroid .Persistent low serum PTH after operation , low dPTH after 24 hours and the early advent of hypocalcaemia suggest the parathyroid retained at the original place was injured seri -ously and its blood supply was damaged obviously and more than one parathyroid were affected .Secretion function of parathyroid will remarkably decrease .

Objective To study the mechanisms of Chinese medicine Euphorbia kansui induced liver damage. Methods 40 mices were selected and radomly divided into four groups according to the dose of Chinese medicine Euphorbia kansui used,there were 4 g/kg group(1/8 LD50 ),2 g/kg group(1/16 LD50),1 g/kg group(1/32 LD)50,and control group,which were given saline. After continuous administration for 21 d by ig,the body weight and liver coefficient of mice in all groups were determined,liver histological changes were detected by HE staining. The serum enzymatic activity of alanine aminotransferase (ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase (AST),the levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD)and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px),the content of malondialdehyde (MDA),superoxide anion radical (O2-·)and hydroxyl radical (OH·)were all measured by ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The changes of reactive oxygen species (ROS)content were detected by flow cytometry. Results With the increase dose of Chinese medicine Euphorbia kansui,the body weight of rats were decreased,and liver coefficient were increased(P<0.05). The serum ALT,AST activity were significantly increased,SOD and GSH-Px activity were significantly decreased(P<0.05),MDA content were increased significantly,radical O2-·, OH·and intracellular ROS levels were all increased (P<0.05 ). Conclusion Chinese medicine Euphorbia kansui induced liver injury though lipid peroxidation.

OBJECTIVE: Through the application of eustachian tuboplasty assisted with hypothermy plasma ablation, we evaluate its efficacy in the threatment of adult refractory otitis media with effusion. METHOD: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of 48 cases (61 ears) suffering from adult refractory otitis media with effusion from January 2012 to December 2013. According to the admission date, the patients were divided into the control group (17 cases, 22 ears) and the treatment group (31 cases, 39 ears). In the control group, the patients were treated with drugs and physical therapy. In the treatment group, the hypothermy plasma ablation technology was used to ablates the hypertrophic tissues around the eustachian orifice besides the pharmaedogical interventions. The recurrence rate of the two groups were analyzed and compared in 1 year after treatment. Pure tone audiometry and acoustic immittance measurement were taken for the two groups in differernt periods (one week prior to operation, one months, three months, six months and one year after operation respectively) to evaluate their hearing change and the recurrence rate (within six months after treatment and one year respectively) objectively. RESULT: In the control group, 2 cases (2 ears) were lost to follow-up, and the recurrence rate was 65% (13/20) in 1 year. In the treatment group, four case were lost to follow-up,and the recurrence rate was 14.3% (5/35) in 1 year. The difference was statistically significant (P<0. 01). There were similar hearing improvement in the two groups after treatment in 1 month, but the hearing improvement in the treatment group increased with time. There were no complications occuring during the operation and post-operation. Within a month after operation, the majority of ears(28/35) obtained significant hearing improvement with the decreasing air-bone-gap comparision with the pre-operation (P < 0.01), and the preoperative tympanogram of 16 ears with type B or C turned to type A (P < 0.01). There were no both statistical significance in the variation of air-bone-gap and tympanogram of comparison with results between three months and six months, six months and one year postoperatively (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION This study confirmed the efficacy of eustachian tuboplasty assisted with hypothermy plasma ablation in the threatment of adult refractory otitis media with effusion caused by eustachian tube opening disorder was significant. It can reduce the recurrence rate significantly in one year and allow sustained hearing improvement within three months postoperatively.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of sleep-regulating technique of low resistance thought imprint psychotherapy (TIP3-2) for insomnia. Methods A total of 120 patients with insomnia were enrolled and randomly allocated to either a treatment group (60 patients) or a control group (30 patients). The patients in the treatment group and the control group were treated by TIP3-2 and zopiclone for 4 weeks, respectively. The therapeutic effect was evaluated using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), polysomnography and the self-made sleep confidence scale. Results A total of 79 patients in the treatment group and 28 patients in the control group completed treatment. PSQI scores showed that overall sleep quality (1.3 ± 0.65 vs. 1.8 ± 0.50;t=6.378, P=0.000), daytime function (1.5 ± 0.89 vs. 2.1 ± 0.66;t=13.624, P=0.000) and total score (9.6 ± 3.35 vs. 12.4 ± 2.83;t=22.124, P=0.000) in the treatment group were significantly improved compared with the control group. Polysomnography showed significant difference between two groups in the times of awakening (3.4 ± 2.49 vs. 4.2 ± 4.02;t=4.196, P=0.043), and the percentages of sleep stages 1 and 2 (stage 1:35.0%± 19.42%vs. 43.0%± 23.31%, t=4.593, P=0.034;stage 2:40.3%± 16.47%vs. 34.9%± 16.57%, t=4.255, P=0.042). The total score of the sleep confidence scale in the treatment group showed a significantly improvement compared with the control group (8.6 ± 5.85 vs. 12.8 ± 3.84, t=11.346, P=0.001). Conclusion TIP3-2 can improve sleep confidence, have certain efficacy for insomnia, and may be superior to zopiclone.

Kallistatin (Kal) is a negative acute phase endogenous protein which can inhibit tumor angiogenesis, growth and metastasis effectively. To express and purify recombinant human kallistatin (rHKal), and characterize its biological activity, P. pastoris was transformed with pPIC9-Kal/GS115 (His4) to express rHKal. The fermentation was carried out in a 7.5 L bioreactor with high density cell culture. 1%-2% methanol was added to the medium to induce the expression of rHKal. The secretion was purified with phenyl sepharose, G-25 sepharose, heparin sepharose and Sephacryl S-100 chromatography. The biological activity of purified bulk rHKal on HUVEC was evaluated with MTT and tube formation assays. The final expression of rHKal in the supernatant reached 50 mg x L(-1), the purity of bulk rHKal after purification was above 98%. A dose-dependent inhibition of rHKal on HUVEC proliferation was observed, however, a U-shaped dose-response curve of rHKal on capillary formation of HUVEC was revealed. The described protocol provides an effective means for preparing rHKal that could be used for anti-angiogenesis therapy in the future.

AIM: To observe the expression of HIF-1? mRNA, HIF-1?, VEGF and iNOS proteins and to investigate their relationship in h ypoxia-treated SW480 cells. METHODS: HIF-1?, VEGF and iNOS proteins were measured by immuno cytochemistry. Western-blot was used to detect HIF-1? protein. HIF-1? mRNA wa s measured by in situ hybridization. RESULTS: Under hypoxic condition, SW480 cells expressed proteins of HIF-1?, VEGF and iNOS more strongly than that under normoxia condition. How e ver, under hypoxia condition, these three proteins expressed weakly or negativel y when the cells treated with genistein, the inhibitor of HIF-1?. Expressions o f HIF-1? and VEGF proteins in cultured SW480 cells under hypoxic condition were completely or partially inhibited by the addition of SNP but the expression of iNOS was unaffected. Another NO donor NOC5, however, induced the expression of t hese three proteins. L-NAME, a non-specific inhibitor of NOS, inhibited the expr ession of HIF-1?, VEGF and iNOS. The levels of HIF-1? mRNA changed slightly i n different oxygen condition or addition of genistein, NO donor or iNOS inhibitor . CONCLUSIONS: Hypoxia induces the expression of HIF-1?, therefor e upregulates the production of VEGF and iNOS. During hypoxia, SNP inhibits but N OC5 promotes HIF-1? expression, indicating that different NO donor acts on the cells through different mechanisms.
