1.Intoxication of rotunda
Journal of Medical Research 1998;8(4):3-5
A retrospective study on 63 patients (male: 14, ages of 11-40) suffered intoxication of rotunda in B¹ch Mai hospital from January to May 2002 has shown that the overdose of rotunda can cause the bradycardia, tachycardia, electrocardiogram changes such as negative T, ST change, especially disorder of depolarization, change of T wave, ST wave, ST wave QTc length in many days. The lowest dose caused side effects was 30 mg. The dose of 2400mg of rotunda causes death due to the apnea.

4.The food intoxication - situation and solution
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):6-8
The food intoxication has impacted badly on the human health and economy. Every year, the rate of the food intoxication was very high such as in America (175/1000 rehabitant), England and New Zealand (190/1000), Australia (220/1000). In Vietnam, there are about 7,000 cases suffered the food intoxication with 46 deaths in 60/61 provinces in 1997. This paper introduced the concerns and solution for management of the food intoxication.

7.Carbonoxyd intoxication due to the exhaustion-health situation and prevention
Journal of Practical Medicine 1998;346(3):31-32
Carbonoxyd generated from uncompleted fire of organic products. There were two pathological conditions of carboneoxyd (C) intoxication, including acute intoxication: patients were unconscious after inhaling only 1-2 times and the chronic intoxication was common in which patients experienced headache and nausea... the occupational diseases were increasingly because of the environmental pollution was increasing. This study introduced some preventive solutions such as good waste disposal, reduction of traffic facilities and smoking. It should use the antitoxic mask and examine the health periodically.

8.Evaluation of clinical manifestations and treatment of rodenticide poisoning
Journal of Medical Research 1998;8(4):6-14
Study on 112 patients who were admitted to ICU & PCC, Bachmai hospital from 1998 to 2001 due to rodenticide poisoning, we has shown that: rodenticide poisoning was a very common poisoning with high complication and mortality (8%); cardiac arrhythmia were usually the direct cause of death, especially in patients who ingested the white colored agent. The main clinical manifestations of rodenticide poisoning were neuromuscular symptoms (convulsion 49.1%, coma 32.14%, agitation 43.8%, hypereflexia 67.9% hypertonia 59.8%, mental disorders, rhabdomyolysis 33.9%); digestive symptoms (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain 57.1%); respiratory failure (22.3%); cardiovascular compromise (hypertension 12.5%, disarrythmias 7.14%), acute renal failure (7.14%); hepatic dysfunction (elevated AST 72%, ALT 48%, bilirubin 34.48%); electrolyte disorders (hypocacemia 100%, hyponatremia 20.5%, hypokalemia 29.5%); hematological changes (leukocytosis 52.7%, elevated neutrophil 65.2%); metabolic disorders (hyperuricemia 26.1%, hyperglycemia 23.2%). The patient management should be an anticorrosion therapy, airway management, fluid infusion and early forced dieresis for the prevention of ARF, other critical care and monitoring.
