1.Value of vaginal ultrasound in finding the endometrial cancer in the postmenopausal women with bleedin
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):39-46
Diagnostic curettage has for many years been the method of choice to diagnose endometrial cancer in women with postmenopausal bleeding. In fact, approximately only 10% in this group of women will be diagnosed with endometrial cancer. This study used endometrial thickness as measured by endovaginal ultrasonography as an indicator of endometrial abnormality. The histopathologic diagnosis obtained at curettage is used as the gold standard. 74 women were included in this study. Endometrial cancer was not found with the endometrium= 5 mm thick. The mean endometrial thickness in those women with endometrial cancer was 13.72+/- 8.09 mm compared with 4.3 +/- 2.3 mm in those women with benign endometrium. If the cut off limit for endometrial cancer and hyperplasia was 5 mm, the sensitivity was 100% the specificity was 71.2%, the positive predictive value was 60%, the negative predictive value was 100% and the Kappa ratio was 0.6%. If this limit had been used in this study, 70% of the curettage procedures could have been avoided.

2.Some remarks on simultaneous endometrioid carcinoma of the endometrium and ovary
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):114-117
Simultaneous endometrioid carcinoma of the endometrium and ovary was also called 'endometrioid systematic carcinoma'. This disease was not common with the rate of 5.2% of all endometrial carcinomas. This malignant epithelial neoplasm was presented with high differentiation (Grade 1), and it was often detected at early stages (0; 1A: 1B). Their common symptoms were abnormal metrorrhagia associating with ovarian cyst in young women having low parity. The determined diagnosis based on macroscopic and microscopic description, which could be a key significance in classification of this special lesion

3.To study the variation of histological activity indices in chronic B hepatitis patients treated by limivudine
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;425(5):27-28
44 patients of chronic B hepatitis are divided into two groups of 22 patients. The one is treated with lamivudine (Jefflix) 100 mg daily in 12 months continuously and the other with usual vitamin and liver tonics. Results showed in 72.7% patients of lamivudine group, the indices of histological activities were improved (through Knodell score), while in controlled group – 31.8% and over the half of this group these indices worsened. Thus, lamivudine has got good effect

4.Evaluation of the effects of splenectomy in treating chronic immuno thrombocytopenic purpurea
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;299(6):13-22
From Aug-2000 to Aug-2003 at HCM City Blood Transfusion and Hematology hospital, 31 cases of endoscopic splenectomy were studied to evaluate the effect of this surgery to treat chronical immuno-thrombocytopenic purpurea once corticotherapy and immunosupressive therapy failed. Results showed that one year after splenectomy, 64,52 – 76,92%, and 2 years after, 50% of cases had had completely positive response. There was absolute failure in 38,7% of cases within 3 first months, but from the 4th month, there was no relapse case. A half number of patients with failed splenectomy had had quick response to corticotherapy more. The duration of treatment was short, endoscopic splenectomy was safe. There was no death. No case of blood transfusion was needed. There were no complications

5.Vietnam health sector with the date of global health and blood transfusion safety
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):5-7
With the helping of international organizations, world health organization and humanitarian organizations and efforts of Vietnam health sector, We obtained the significant results in the people health protection and care. There has not been the blood replacement compound, it must use human blood for the treatment, the date of global health (7/4) every year is considered as the date of blood transfusion safety to prevent from transmissions of communicable diseases.

6.Significance of some blood gas parameters in hyperbaric oxygenation therapy for chronic cor pulmonale
Journal of Practical Medicine 1999;367(7):9-11
Blood gas parameters were measured in 20 patients with chronic cor pulmonale before and after a course of hyperbaric oxygenation therapy (HBO). Results found that the HBO has increased PaO2 of patients from 73.8mmHg to 81.1mmHg and reduced AsDO2 from 26.5mmHg to 19.9mmHg with p<0.05. Except parameters of PaO2, pH and PaCO2, other parameters such as AaDO2, PaO2 and P50 must be measured in order to evaluate completely the effect of HBO. (Auth)

Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):2-5
The report revealed some remains in a campaign for food safety, hygiene and quality, included the cooperation between varied sectors has not been close, the co-responsibility in management food safety, hygiene and quality has not been expressed highly. Guidelines have not been developed timely, affected to progress of development. The propagation has not been continuous and not reached widely. Specialist inspection system has not been available. 9.Effects of artesunate in the cobination of other antimalarial drugs on activities of some murine plasma enzymes
Journal of Medical Research 2002;18(2):24-29
Effects of artesunate in the combination of other antimalarial drugs (primaquine, mefloquine or chloroquine) on activities of some murine plasma enzymes were studied: (1) The combination of artesunate with primaquine induced significantly plasma activities of GOT, GPT, LDH, - HBDH, CK and CK- MB in comparison with artesunate alone; (2) The combination of artesunate with mefloquine also induced significantly plasma activities of GOT, GPT, LDH, -HBDH, CK and CK- MB in comparison with artesunate alone; (3) The companation of artesunate with chloroquine reduced slightly plasma activities of GOT, GPT, LDH, -HBDH, CK and CK-MB. The results obtained in the study suggest that the combination of artesunate with primaquine or mefloquine on murine cellular damage is synergistic, while the combination of artesunate with chloroquine is probably antagonistic

10.Clinical and paraclinical feature and results of the congenital megaureter surgery
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;1():28-32
A prospective study was carried out to investigate clinical and paraclinical findings of the congenital megaureter in children and the results of its surgery from April 1992 to July 2000, 39 patients with 49 ureters has been operated. Two most common clinical findings include urinary tract infection and urinary tract obstruction. Ultrasound could detect a megaureter in all patients. Urography showed a typical finding (radicÌle) in 6.1%. A renal function was impaired in 77.6%. Treatment included ureteral reimplantation in 89.8% and nephrectomy in 10.2%. 86.2% patients had a good results on the follow-up.
