1.Choice of pharmaceutical services in Tien Son district
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 1998;(1):24-27
According to the results of an investigation on 270 households in May 1999 carried out in Tien Son district, Bac Ninh province, 56 (20.79%) purchasing households came to commune health centre, 195 (72.22%) came to private clinic, 8 (2.96%) came to public pharmacy and 11 (4.03%) came to private pharmacy. Quality of the drug, easiness to access, reasonable price, good counseling... are the favorable factors to promote the purchaser's choice

2.Synthesis, structure and biological effects of some compounds of 2-mecaptobenzothiazole
Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;272(12):14-16
Nine compounds derivated from 2-mercaptobezothiazole were synthesized. Their structure have been identified by MS-, IR-, and UV- spectroscopy. Antimicrobial activities of some compounds have been tested. Hydrazide BT6 and substituted hydrazides BT7, BT8, BT9 were found to have significant inhibitory activity on P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, Asp. niger and F. oxysporum at concentration 50mcg/ml.

Realtime xCELLigence analysis (RTCA) is a new cell detection technology to continuously monitor, record and analyze a variety of information generated by cell activity. In drug research, it plays an important role in assessing myocardial toxicity and cell biological activity. Here, we first introduce the underlying mechanisms and characteristics of RTCA. Then we review the applications of RTCA in the research of myocardial toxicity and cell biological activity, to provides the fundamental baseline for understanding and exploiting RTCA. With the real-time, unlabeled, non-invasive, high throughput, and high accuracy features, RTCA not only promotes drug research and development, but also has a broad and good application prospect in other fields.

4.Synthesis of bicuculin by direct condensation method meconin with isoquinolinium iodid salt
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;353(9):12-15
Using direct condensation method meconin with isoquinolinium isodid salt, the authors had synthesized of bicuculin by a new method. With this method, an important intermediacy - erythro cordrastin isomer - was created with the greater rate in comparison with threo isomer. Two isomers were separated easily due to silicagel chromatography. The erythro isomer was demethylated by BBr3 reagent. Methylenation of tetrahydroxy compound provided bicuculline racemic. Separate the contrasts of bicucullin racemic by acid D (+) could help to obtain (+) bicucullin with high optical purify which were reached standards for next biological tests

5.Study on preparation of indomethacin pellets with released action by push back method of forming spheroids
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;353(9):16-20
Optimum formula of indomethacin sustained release pellets prepared by extrusion and spheronization method was obtained by using an artificial neural network. In the pellets, Avicel PH 101 was used as a matrix excipient for sustained release and HPMC E15, PVP K30, polysorbat 80 was used to enhance the solubility of indomethacin from the matrix. The capsules containing prepared indomethacin sustained release pellets showed an in vitro drug release similar to that of CHRONO-INDOCID capsules which were used as a reference product. The studied products were stable during 6 months when preserving in urgent aged condition

6.Study towards Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) at the Pharmacy of People’s Hospital N0 115
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;347(3):25-27
To improve the quality of pharmaceutical services at hospitals’ pharmacies towards Good Pharmacy Practice, an interventional study was carried out on 1014 clients and 3030 prescriptions with two purposes: instructions, and surveillance of drug interactions in prescribing at Hospital No 115’s pharmacy and other 14 hospitals’ pharmacies in Ho Chi Minh City. The results showed that the rate of customers’ satisfactions with client instructions in intervention group was higher than that in control group (87.0% vs 80.4%); and doctors paid more attentions to drug interactions during prescribing (rate of drug interactions decreased from 12.1% before intervention to 9.7% after intervention). However, the rates of drug interaction wasn’t changed significantly before and after interventions)

7.Some solutions for science-technology contributing to push up domestic drug production
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;0(6):2-5
Pharmaceuticals industry is developing over the country. In a new tendency, pharmaceutical enterprises have trained staff and workers to meet new requirements as well as invested in infrastructure and modern equipment. These enterprises have registered to produce 7,569 medical completed products including 4,000 new medications which are resulted from 401 active ingredients. Revenues in 2004 reached 4,700 billion VND. However, Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry is still limited and Vietnam ranks in forth group in world's pharmaceutical industry. Restrictions of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry are presented in two factors: pharmaceutical chemistry industry and pharmaceutical biological industry. In global’s competitive market with many unprecedented changes, Vietnamese enterprises in general and pharmaceutical enterprises in particular have a few competition advantages. Therefore, competition advantages should be created in the market. Factors of human resources and science – technology is very important, which is key foundation and motivation to help the pharmaceutical enterprises stablize and develop in current integration tendency

8.Synthesis of bicucullin by method of forming cycle with Bischler-Napieralski
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;0(6):6-9
Phthalideisoquinoline alcaloid norbicuculline have been synthesized by Bischler-Napieralski cyclization. The racemic norbicuculline were resolved into (+) and (-) forms. Methylation of (+ )norbicuculline provided (+)bicuculline. Researching bicucullin synthesis by the method of Bischler – napieralski shows that bicucullin is synthesized from Piperonal and Beta - (3,4 methylendioxy) – phenylethylamin by method of Bischler – napieralski. Isomers of ( ±) erythro and (±) threo norbicucullin are easily separated thank to nhờ sắc kí cột silicagel. Afterwards, optical isomers of (±) norbicucullin are also separated with high optical purity and good output. Methyl changed into (+) erythro norbicucullin is to gather (+) bicucullin gaining standards for biological experiments

9.Study on anti-ondontitis effect of extracted solution from bark of Hopea odorata Roxb
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;0(6):13-17
Hopea Odorata Roxb (HO) is often used by many Vietnamese people as a remedy for dental caries. However, nothing is known about which compound(s) of the material and how it (they) acts to protect the teeth. It was found in this study that the ethanol extract of Hopea odorata Roxb bark (HOE) was strongly inhibited acid production of Streptococcus mutans cells in suspension and biofilms as well. The extract also killed the organisms in acidified medium. At a concentration of 10% HOE, 90% of population was killed by 10 min and 30 min at pH 4.0 and 7.0, respectively. Killing ability of HOE was augmented when combined with hydroperoxide. In reduced pH and killing assays, the cells in biofilm appeared to be more resistant to the effect of the HOE compared to the cells in suspension. Further investigation should be needed to elucidate the anticariogenic effects of HOE

10.Study on galenical preparation of thyroglobulin tablets
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;0(6):18-22
This study aimed to investigate the thyroglobulin tablet formulation produced from hog thyroid glands. This formulation were designed and optimized by MODDE 5.0. High performance liquid chromatogaphy (HPLC) was used to measure thyroid hormone concentration in the thyroglobulin tablets. The hormone in thyroglobulin tablets have got required stability after accelerated test at the temperature of 40 + 2oC and the relative humidity of 75 + 5% for 3 months
