2013 saw sustained and rapid development in the military medicine-related life sciences .New research fields, new technologies and devices continue to emerge , such as Brain Science Projects , 3D bio-printing, cognitive neuro-science, brain-computer interface and mind control , genome editing technology , neuroimaging techniques , protein research technology , Which will promote the all-round development of basic and applied research for military medicine .

AIM: To screen macroreticular resins for isolation and purification of flavonoids from the leaves of Diospyros kaki Linn (FLDK). METHODS: 8 kinds of macroreticular resins were assayed for their adsorbability and deadsorbability as well as the adsorption kinetics to FLDK. RESULTS: Polyamide and AB-8 resin were found with good adsorbability and deadsorbability as well as adsorption kinetics to FLDK. CONCLUSION: AB-8 resin and polyamide could be used for preparing high contents of FLDK. FLDK-P70, a flavonoid extract contained more than 77% of flavonoids was prepared from the extract of leaves of Diospyros kaki by polyamide adsorption column isolation.

Objective To investigate the effect of surgical treatment for giant primary liver cancer.Methods One hundred and forty-six cases of giant primary liver cancer received surgical treatment in recent 11 years ware analyzed retrospectively. Of them, 99 cases underwent irregular hepatectomy ,28 hemihepatectomy and 4 right hepatic trisegmentectomy .Including 19 cases received secondary resection after preoperative TACE, meanwhile 6 cases were underwent portal venous cancer thrombus extraction, 15 cases received biopsies and DDS only, Interoprative DDS were performed in 105 cases. Result The postoperative complications was 10.3 %, the postoperative mortality was 1.4%.The 1-,3-,5- and 10year survival rates were 56.6 %, 30.2% ,14.4% and 2.1% respectively. Conclusions The main treatment of giant liver cancer is hepatcctomy.Combination with TACE,portal thrombus extraction and DDS can improve the long-term survival.

Objective: To establish p53 trancated muteins group and analyse their expression and effects on p53 related downstream genes in HeLa cells. Methods: Using PCR-based site-directed mutagenesis technique, a group of P53 muteins with the N- and/or C-terminals differently trancated were set up. The plasmids with p53 mutein genes were used to transfect HeLa cells, the p53 muteins and some p53 related downstream genes' expression were analyzed by RT-PCR. Results: The p53 muteins were expressed in HeLa cells and they had effects on some of p53 related downstream genes. Conclusion: The P53 muteins may be a good tool to analyze P53 function and has effects on p53 related downstream genes' expression model.

Observation revealed the abnormalities (increased CD 4 and Th, decreased Tc) in patients of Graves′ disease, and these abnormalities were not significantly adjusted after 6 weeks of treatment with methimazole (MMI), or with MMI and methotrexate (MTX), though the soluble interleukin-2 receptor and thyroid autoantibodies slightly decreased in both groups. However, the addition of MTX did not show any better effects than MMI alone in the treatment.

Using of clearing zones on pachyman agar medium, there are 217 plant endophytic actinomycetes, producing ?-1,3-glucanase were screened. 45.6% of the strains produced ?-1,3-glucanase, in which the strains from cucumber are up to 38. The percentages of endophytic actinomycetes from different hosts produceing ?-1,3-glucanases were different. The percentage of the strains in Rhizoma Polygonatum produced ?-1,3-glucanases is the highest, up to 88.9%. The Inhibited effects of plant endophytic actinomycetes which produced extracellular ?-1,3-glucanases on mycelium growth of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum were detected in vitro. Cucumber endophytic actinomycete gCLA4 strain was screened out from 99 isolates, which can strongly inhibit the growth of S. sclerotiorum. The optimal ?-1,3-glucanases fermentation conditions of strain gCLA4 were investigated, they were pachyman 0.2%, peptone as nitrogen, pH 7～8 for 5 days. The ?-1,3-glucanases of strain gCLA4 had some inhibiting efficiency on 13 plant pathogens, in which inhibiting efficiency to Botryosphaeria dothidea was the strongest.

Objective To evaluate the antioxidant effect of hesperidin and its effect on transcription of monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP 1) in rabbits with dietary atherosclerotic lesions. Methods (1) Low density lipoprotein (LDL) was isolated from healthy human plasma by sequential ultra centrifugation and oxidized by copper. The contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured at different dosages of the drug and at different reaction time. (2) Atherosclerotic model of rabbits was established by feeding rabbits with high lipid diet and immune injury. A total of 18 rabbits were divided randomly into three groups: control group, model group, and hesperidin group ( n =6 in each group). Rabbits in the control group were fed with common diet, those in the model group with high lipid diet, and those in the hesperidin group with high lipid diet plus hesperidin. After 10 experimental weeks, blood samples were collected from the marginal ear veins for the detection of the contents of MDA and nitric oxide (NO). The rabbits were sacrificed for the isolation of the thoracic aorta. MCP 1 mRNA transcription in the thoracic aorta was detected by RT PCR. Xenopus Paraxial Protocadherin (PAPC), which was initially identified in a screen for genes present in the Spemann organizer of Xenopus embryos, is required for gastrulation, somitogenesis and otic vesicle formation. In order to investigate its function in various developmental events, an antibody was prepared which could specifically recognize Xenopus PAPC. Glutathione S transferase (GST) expression system was used to express the fusion protein GST-PAPC. Rabbits were immunized with GST-PAPC Western blotting analysis of FL-PAPC transfected HEK 293T cells lysates, which could be specifically blocked by pre-adsorption of prokaryotic expressed GST-PAPC fusion protein. Furthermore, by using immunofluorescence analysis the polyclonal antibody recognized membrane-bound PAPC in FL-PAPC transfected 293T cells and Xenopus animal cap cells. By Western blotting analysis,the endogenous 150 ku PAPC protein was detected in Xenopus embryos using the anti-PAPC antibody. Take together it could be concluded that a polyclonal antibody specifically against Xenopus PAPC was developed.

AIM:To investigate the protective effects of astrocyte protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) up-regula-tion on APP/PS1 double transgenic mice.METHODS:An eGFP-wtPP2A lentivirus with glial fiber acidic protein promoter was constructed to specifically increase PP2A expression in the astrocytes.The mice were divided into wild -type mice +vector virus group (Con), APP/PS1 transgenic mice +vector virus group (APP/PS1) and APP/PS1 transgenic mice +eGFP-wtPP2A lentivirus group (PP2A) by lateral ventricular injection of the lentivirus.Four weeks after injection of the vi-rus, the immunofluorescence of brain slices were used to detect the level of β-amyloid protein ( Aβ) .Golgi staining was used to detect the changes of dendritic spine density and morphology.Electron microscopy was applied to detect the thickness of postsynaptic density (PSD).The Morris water maze test was applied to examine the learning and memory abilities of the mice.RESULTS: Up-regulation of PP2A in the astrocytes attenuated Aβlevel increasing in APP/PS1 group.Up-regulation of PP2A in the astrocytes significantly attenuated both decreases in the dendritic spine density and the percentage of mushroom-like dendritic spines in the hippocampal CA3 region of APP/PS1 mice.Up-regulation of PP2A in the astrocytes significantly attenuated the reduced thickness of PSD in APP/PS1 group.Up-regulation of PP2A in the astro-cytes attenuated the escape latency extending in APP/PS1 group .CONCLUSION: Up-regulation of PP2A in the astro-cytes reduces AD-like pathological changes, and attenuates synaptic impairment, synaptic plasticity deficits and cognitive impairment in the APP/PS1 double transgenic mice.

Objective To localize the upper airway obstruction of patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)with the Cinema Magnetic Resonance(Cine-MR) and fiber optic laryngoscope with Müller maneuver(FLMM)before operation and discuss the clinical application values.Methods Before operation, FLMM and Cine-MR were applied to 22 patients diagnosed as OSAHS by Polysomnography(PSG).Medical examinations conducted in this study from September 2015 to April 2016 to examine the obstruction of the soft palate region, the lingual region and epiglottis.Results There were complete agreements between the Cine-MR and FLMM at locating obstruction sites of the soft palate (n=22/n=22),and there were moderate agreements between the Cine-MR and FLMM in locating obstruction sites of the retroglottal region(n=13/n=6),epiglottal region (n=4/n=2)and multiple level(n=13/n=6), respectively.Conclusion For those moderate and severe OSAHS patients with multiple sites obstruction , the preoperative application of the Cine-MR and FLMM together will be better in locating the obstruction sites.
