1.CHROMOSOME ANALYSIS OF ENDOMETRIUM BEFORE AND AFTER CLOMIPHENE THERAPY
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
This article presents a technique of chromosome analysis which are prepared from human endometrium directly. The success rate was 40.3%. It was shown that there was no statistical significant differences between mitotic index of prolifera-tive and secretory phases. The same study had been carried out in women before and had been taking clomiphene for 3 cycles and 6 cycles. And also no detectable mutagenic, and no carcinogenic effects on endometrium were found
2.Influence of dehydration degree on biomechanics of allogeneic bone nails
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(38):7597-7600
BACKGROUND:With increasing freeze-drying time, the water content of allogeneic bone reduces along with the bone mechanical strength. The suitable dehydration degree that maintains mechanical strength of allogeneic bone and allows long-term preservation at room temperature remains controversial.OBJECTIVE:To detect the mechanical properties of bovine bone nail following different degrees of dehydration using the three-point bending mechanics tests.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Biomechanical analysis, comparative observation. The experiment was performed at the Mechanical Laboratory of Southern Medical University between May 2007 and May 2008.MATERIALS:Bone nails,50 mm length and 3 mm diameter, made from healthy adult bovine femoral cortical bone were divided into control and freeze-drying groups (8,12,24 hours, respectively) with 20 samples in each group.METHODS:The water content of bone nails with or without freeze-drying was measured by SH10A Moisture Quick Determination Meter.Three-point bending mechanics tests were performed using MTS 858 Mini Bionix. The parameters included load range 0-2000 N,resolution 0.01 N,cross beam replacement resolution 0.001 mm,span 50 mm and loading speed (cross beam replacement speed) 2 mm/min.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Water content, maximal load and elasticity load.RESULTS:The water content of control group was 7%-9%,and following freeze-drying for 8 hours, the water content was 5.5%-6%,which met the standard of freeze-drying bone;Compared with control group, the maximal load and elasticity load reduced respectively 0.004% and 0.000 8% (P>0.05).Following freeze-drying for 12 and 24 hours, the water content was 3.5%-4% and 1%-1.5%;the maximal load reduced 21% and 37% and the elasticity load reduced 22.5% and 39% compared with control group (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Freeze-drying for 8 hours is the best time of dehydration. The mechanical load and elastic modulus reduce with increasing freeze-drying time.
3.Experimental study of zinc finger protein A20 inhibiting oxidized low density lipoprotein induced migration in smooth muscle cell
Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(5):577-580
Objective To investigate the possible mechanisms of ox-LDL on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) with and without exogenous zinc finger protein A20 gene. Methods VSMC were trans-fected with plamid containing A20 gene and incubated with ox-LDL. TLR4 and LOX-1 mRNA expression were measured by RT-PCR. Results After VSMC incubated with ox-LDL, the expression of LOX-1 and TLR-4 mRNA reached a higher level. However, when VSMC were transfected with plasmid containing A20 gene, the NF-kB nuclear translocation and the ability of migration reduced to normal level. Conclusions ox-LDL can significantly activate NF-kB signaling system and enhance migration in VSMC. The activation may induce the inflammatory response in arterial wall, the migration of VSMC to the intima, and triggering the process of atherosclerosis. Transfecting plasmid containing A20 gene significantly inhibited the activation of NF-kB and the ability of migration of VSMC. A20 effects might be through inhibiting NF-kB signaling. Meanwhile, A20 blocked the development of atherosclerosis.
4.The nervous system adverse effect induced by β-lactam antibiotics in patients on hemodialysis
Clinical Medicine of China 2009;25(7):739-741
Objective To discuss the reasonable utilization of β-lactam antibiotics in patients with renal failure on hemedialysis. Methods The clinical characteristics of patients with renal failure on hemodylysis, who de-veloped the adverse effect of nervous system and psychiatric symptom while being treated with β-lactam antibiotics, were retrospectively analyzed. Results The adverse effect of nervous system and psychiatric symptom showed dur-ing and after hemodialysis, including: mental confusion, hyperexcitabiliy, incoherent speech, lethargy and amyestasia in two cases. Physical examination did not show signs of cerebral focal injury in all cases. Computed tomography of brain in 7 patients did not show acute lesions. The symptoms completely disappeared after withdrawal of β-lactam antibiotics but bemodialysis or hemodiafiltration continued. Conclusion β-lactam antibiotics used in conventional dose could cause temporary adverse effect of nervous system in patients with renal failure on bemodialysis, which is related to prolongation of drug half life.
5.Adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization after curative liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2016;22(12):797-801
Objective To study the effect of adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on intrahepatic recurrence after curative liver resection for primary hepatocellular carcinoma (PHC).Methods 130 PHC patients who underwent curative liver resection from June 2010 to February 2013 were selected and randomly allocated to the study group (n =67) and the control group (n =63).The study group underwent adjuvant TACE for 1 ~ 4 times, and the control group did not receive any adjuvant therapy. On follow-up for 36 months, the postoperative recurrence rates, tumour free survival time and tumor free survival rates of the two groups were compared. Results At 6 months after surgery, the serum AFP level [(379.8 ±91.7) μg/L vs.(414.5 ±84.3) μg/L] and the IGFBP-2 level [(2 855.3 ±727.5) μg/L vs.(3 259.6 ± 894.1) μg/L] in the study group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05).The 1-year cumulative recurrence rate in the study group (10.4% vs.28.6%) was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05).However,the 2-year and 3-year cumulative recurrence rates were not significantly different between the two groups (P > 0.05).The 3-year cumulative tumor free survival rate of the study group (81.0% vs.73.2%) was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05).Patients in the study group with portal vein tumor thrombus had an 1-year cumulative recurrence rate of (12.8% vs.31.6%) and a 2-year rate of (28.2% vs.50.0%).In patients with a preoperative AFP ≥400 μg/L,the 1-year cumulative recurrence rates were (8.8% vs.30.6%).When the tumor diameter was ≥10 cm,the 1-year,2 year and 3-year cumulative recurrence rates were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05,11.8% vs.46.7%),(35.3% vs.75.3%) and (47.1% vs.86.7%),respectively.The recurrence rates in patients who had no cancer thrombus,a preoperative AFP ≤400 μg/L and a tumor diameter < 10 cm were not significantly different between the two groups (P > 0.05).The recurrent rates of patients who underwent TACE 1 time and those who did not receive TACE showed no significant difference (P >0.05).In patients who had TACE twice, the 1-year (4.3% vs.28.6%),2-year (15.2% vs.41.3%) and 3-year (26.1% vs.49.2) cumulative recurrence rates were significantly lower than patients who did not receive TACE (P < 0.05).In patients who had TACE for more than three times, the cumulative recurrence rate was similar to patients who had TACE twice (P > 0.05).Conclusions Adjuvant TACE helped to reduce PHC recurrence after curative liver resection during the high-risk period for recurrence.A 1-time TACE did not significantly reduce postoperative recurrence rate, and ≥ 3 times TACE did not significantly improve tumor-free survival rates.Adjuvant TACE and the number of TACE should be reasonably carried out based on the indications and pathological characteristics.
6.Seeking the common end of both doctors' and patients' value orientation
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(10):-
How to handle the relationship between doctors and patients is currently a hot spot of society. The author first expounds the fundamental propositions in the theories of the science of value. Then, using the theories of the science of value, he first describes the relationship between the object and subject of value, viz. who comes first, the patients or the staff, arguing that in the mind of the hospital director there should always be an unbiased balance of value benefiting both sides. Then he describes the realistic form in which value exists, viz. which is more important, the value of utility or the value of effectiveness, arguing that the hospital director should lay equal emphasis on the staffs value of utility and the patients value of utility, thus satisfying both sides. Thirdly, the author describes value accounting and the cost of value, viz. the dual unity of the values of effects and effectiveness, arguing that creating value while paying cost indicates the dual nature of the practice of hospital administration. Hence the need to lower cost as much as possible and create greater value.

8.Expression of miR-133b in prostate cancer and its effect on the proliferation of tumor cells
Chinese Journal of Clinical Laboratory Science 2017;35(5):349-352
Objective To investigate the expression level of miR-133b in cancer tissues of patients with prostate cancer and its effect on the proliferation of prostate cancer cells. Methods The total RNAs in resected prostate cancer tissues and adjacent tissues from 30 patients with prostate cancer were extracted and reversely transcripted into cDNA,and then the expression levels of miR-133b were detected by real-time quantitative PCR.The correlations between the expression levels of miR-133b and the patients' clinicopathological features were analyzed. The expression of positive regulatory domain I-binding factor 16 (PRDM16) and proliferation of PC-3 cells transfected with miR-133b mimics by LipofectamineTM 3000 were determined by real-time quantitative PCR and the CCK8 method, respectively. Results The expression levels of miR-133b in prostate cancer tissues [(16.85 ± 0.94) × 10-4] was significantly lower than that in adjacent tissues [(22.95 ± 1.567) × 10-4,t =3.335,P < 0.01].The expression levels of PRDM16 in PC-3 cells transfected with miR-133b mimics were significantly lower than that in the control group (0.371 ±0.031 vs 1.000 ±0.022,t =12.53,P < 0.01).The proliferation ability of PC3 cells transfected with miR-133b mimics for 72 hours was significantly lower than that in the control group (t =6.811,P < 0.01).Similarly,the proliferation ability of PC-3 cells transfected with PRDM16 inhibitor for 72 hours was also significantly lower than that in the control group (t =9.048,P <0.01).Conclusion The expression levels of miR-133b in prostate cancer tissues are significantly down-regulated,which regulate the proliferation of prostate cancer cells possibly through PRDM16.
