1.Effects of Maca on kidney mitochondrial respiratory function and anti-aging capabilities in aged rats after exhausted exercise
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(18):2711-2716
BACKGROUND: Studies have shown that Maca can enhance immune cel function, improve mitochondrial respiratory chain enzymes, and play a role in anti-oxidation and anti-aging.
OBJECTIVE: To observe Maca effects on kidney mitochondrial respiratory function and anti-aging capabilities in elderly rats after exhausted exercise.
METHODS: 10-month-old elderly rats were intragastrical y administrated Maca powder 5 g/kg, once a day, and did treadmil exercise, 5 days in a week. Rats were randomly divided into control group, Maca group and training group and Maca+training group. At 6 weeks after training, rats in each group did exhausted exercise (35 m/min), and immediately received intraperitoneal injection of 2% sodium pentobarbital. The kidney was obtained, and mitochondria were extracted by differential centrifugation. A spectrophotometer was used to measure mitochondrial respiratory chain activity.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme and antioxidant enzyme activity: mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme I-III, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities were higher in the Maca+training group than in the control group, Maca group and training group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), but malondialdehyde content was lower (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) Results suggested that the combination of supplement Maca and incremental exercise can improve mitochondrial respiratory function and delay aging in the kidney of aged rats after exhausted exercise. Moreover, supplemented Maca and incremental exercise have a synergistic effect.
2.Effects of vasopressin and adrenaline on cerebral resuscitation in rats undergone cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2011;20(3):277-280
Objective To compare the effects of vasopressin and adrenaline on cerebral resuscitation in rats. Method Sixty male SD rats were used to set the animal model of cardiac arrest and were randomly (random number) divided into 4 groups (n = 15/group): sham operation group (sham-gro), negative control group (neg-gro), vasopressin group (vas-gro) and adrenaline group (adr-gro). Blood pressure was recorded, and brain tissue samples were obtained. Results There was no significant difference in the recovery rate between vas-gro and adr-gro 30 min after resuscitation (P <0.05). The mean blood pressure in vasgro was higher than that in adr-gro within 30 min (1,2, 5, 10, 20, 30 min) after restoration of spontaneous circulation. The measured MDA, SOD and GSH were significantly different (P < 0.05) between each two groups among vas-gro, sham-gro and adr-gro. Conclusions The recovery rate was similar between vasopressin group and adrenaline group during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in rats. However, vasopressin can to maintain the mean arterial pressure at a higher level after resuscitation, which can the increase the cerebral perfusion and reduce brain cell damage.

6.Action mechanisms of continuous renal replacement therapy for sepsis
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2017;30(7):698-702
Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by dysregulated immune response to infection, which has high rates of morbidity and mortality. The imbalance between the response to inflammation and that to anti-inflammation is one of the most important pathophysiological processes in patients with sepsis.Despite the variety of its treatment options, their therapeutic effects remain unsatisfactory.Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is gaining a wider application in critical care medicine, especially in the treatment of sepsis, which can significantly increase the survival rate of sepsis patients by immunity modulation, organ support, and internal environment stabilization, so as to improve the immune disorder, protect the organ functions, and maintain homeostasis in the body.
7.Manifestation and therapies of EGFRI-induced dermatological toxicities
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2017;44(13):673-676
In the past decades, the advent of molecular targeted agents has been a considerable breakthrough for cancer patients, ex-cept for traditional operation, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. As a novel therapeutic method, molecular targeting treatment is im-portant in the field of medical oncology, in which epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors (EGFRIs) have been widely used as target-ed agents. Dermatological toxicities are the common side effects associated with the EGFRIs. Diarrhea, weakness, and pneumonia can be observed. EGFRI-induced dermatological toxicities may disrupt the health-related quality of life and cause anticancer treatment dose adjustments or discontinuance. The dermatological toxicities mainly involve rash acneiform, pruritus, xerosis, paronychia, hair change, and skin hypersensitivity. Treatment recommendations from guidelines include antibiotics, corticosteroids, and antihista-mines, but their clinical therapeutic efficacy have not been proven. Therefore, oncologists and dermatologists are investigating effec-tive medication. This article reviews the advances in the study of the clinical manifestations and drug therapies of EGFRI-induced der-matological toxicities to provide reference for clinical practitioners.
8.Construction of LAPTM4B promoter-luciferase reporter recombinants
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
Objective:LAPTM4B is a novel gene which is over expressed in HCC.To evaluate LAPTM4B gene promoter on gene transcription,we construct luciferase reporter plasmid pGL3-LAPTM4B-Luc.Methods:The LAPTM4B cDNA was used as a template in the polymerase chain reaction to amplify its upstream regions from the translation initiation codon. The PCR product was directly cloned into the luciferase reporter vector pGL3-Basic.Results:Restriction enzymes digestion and nucleotide sequencing confirmed that the recombinant plasmids were correct without base mutation and deletion. Conclusion:A known gene promoter sequence could be freely obtained from Genbank database. This is very useful for the gene promoter cloning and promoter vector constructing. The construction of LAPTM4B recombinant plasmid lay a foundation of the analysis of promoter activities.
