1.Determination of catechin,epicatechin,gaIIic acid and procyanidin B2 in procy-anidins by RP-HPLC

To develop a RP-HPLC method for the determination of catechin (C),epicatechin (EC),gallic acid (GA)and procyanidin B2 (PCB2 )in procyanidins and compare the contents of C,EC,GA and PCB2 in procyani-dins purchased from different manufacturers.A RP-HPLC method was developed and the determination was car-ried out on a Hypersil ODS2 column (4.0 mm ×200 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase consisted of methanol and 2% acetic acid with gradient elution and the detection wave-length was at 280 nm.There was a good linear rela-tionship between concentration and the peak area in the range of 0.1-50 μg/mL (r =0.998 6)for catechin,0.1-50 μg/mL (r =0.994 5)for epicatechin,0.05-50 μg/mL (r =0.999 9)for gallic acid and 0.1-50 μg/mL (r =0.992 2)for procyanidin B2 ,respectively.The average recoveries of catechin,epicatechin,gallic acid and PCB2 were 98.36%,98.21%,89.60% and 98.47%,respectively and the RSDs were 1.39%,0.84%,2.12% and 2.46%,respectively.The method is simple,accurate,reproducible and can be used for assay of C,EC,GA,PCB2 in procyanidins.There was a great difference in the content of four substance in procyanidins purchased from dif-ferent manufacturers.
2."Preliminary research in construction of ""school-community"" health education network"

Objective By discussion on the construction of school-community health education network,we can identify suitable community practice ways of improving students' comprehensive ability,enrich community health teams and meet the health demand of community residents.Methods Take Grade 08 and Grade 09 as the test classes.Two classes were selected from each grade,one class was set as the experimental group,the other was named as the control group.The communication skills,critical thinking skills,teamwork skills and the ability of getting the specific knowledge after the community practice for a year were compared between the two groups in each grade separately.At the same time,we assessed the community residents from the following four aspects,knowing about the health information,residents' health beliefs,their change in attitude,their adoption of healthy behaviors,and compared their knowledge of health information about three diseases.Results The results showed that the four mentioned abilities of the experimental groups were significantly improved.The community residents' health information awareness rate after the health education was significantly different compared with that before.There was no significant difference among three other levels.Conclusions Construction of school-community health education network can improve the students' comprehensive quality,it is beneficial to the survival and the development of health schools,and it can meet the needs of community residents,enrich the community health service team,and can also promote the change of teaching ideas.
3.Preparation and pharmacokinetics of imperatorin sustained-release tablets

Objective To prepare imperatorin sustained-release tablets and study their pharmacokinetics and bioavailability in rabbits.Methods Hydroxy-propyl methyl cellulose(HPMC) and carbomer were used to constitute the binary polymer matrix.Orthogonal design was used to optimize the formulation of imperatorin sustained-release tablets.The preliminary pharmacokinetic study in the rabbits was carried out by single-dose crossover design using imperatorin plain tablets as control.An appropriate GC-MS method was developed for measuring the concentration of imperatorin in the blood.Results Optimized formulation contained 1∶20 HPMC K100M and 2∶25 carbomer.Single dose test with 300mg showed that the relative bioavailability of imperatorin sustained-release tablets was(115.37?45.46)%;AUC of the studied tablets and control tablets was(391.08?47.22) and(368.25?136.15)?g/(h?L),tmax(2.26?0.25) and(0.33?0.05)h,Cmax(59.66?6.28) and(295.91?127.00)?g/L,T1/2ke(2.27?0.09) and(0.60?0.10)h,respectively.Conclusion The release behavior of the imperatorin sustained-release tablets prepared with binary polymer system shows evident sustained-release characteristics.

Salmonella is a pathogenic bacteria to human and animals ,which can cause seriously complication and death . Salmonella pathogenicity is from the reactions of SP‐1 and SP‐2 T3SS effector proteins .In this paper ,the functions of different T3ss effector proteins in different infection periods is reviewed to provide a reference for further understanding the pathogenesis mechanisms of Salmonella .
5.Analysis of Clinical Efficacy of Azithromycin Combined Glucocorticoids in Treatment of Severe Pneumonia Mycoplasma

Objective:To analyze the influences of azithromycinantibiotic combined glucocorticoids on the levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and inflammatory cytokines levels as well as the clinical effect of severe pneumonia mycoplasma.Methods:112 children with severe pneumonia mycoplasma who were treated in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 56 cases in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with azithromycinantibiotic,while the patients in the observation group were treated with glucocorticoid on the basis of the control group.Then the levels of ESR,LDH,isoenzyme MB (CK-MB),creatine kinase (CK),aspertate aminotransferase (AST),c-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin 6 (IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-o (TNF-α),CD4+ and CD8+,the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions between two groups were observed and compared before and after the treatment.Results:The effective rate in the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of ESR,LDH,CK-MB,CK,AST,CRP,IL-6,TNF-α and CD8+ in the two groups decreased,which were lower in the observation group than those of the control group (P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of CD4+ in both groups increased,which was higher in the observation group than that of the control group (P<0.05).The disappearance time of fever,cough relief,lung rale of observation group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:Azithromycin combined with glucocorticoids was more effective than azithromycin alone in the treatment of severe mycoplasma pneumonia with high safety,which could obviously relieve the myocardial injury and inflammatory response,enhance the immune function.
6.Dynamic changes of morphology and histopathology of conjunctival filtering bleb after anti-glaucoma filtering surgery in rat

Background Dynamic observation in morphology and histology of conjunctival filtering bleb in rats can contribute to form ideal filtering blebs by interferencing the process of scarring.Objective This study was designed to observe the survival time,morphological and histopathological changes of conjunctival filtering bleb after filtering surgery.Methods Filtering surgeries were performed on 60 male adult Sprague-Dawley rats by implanting drainage tubes into the anterior chamber.The shape of filtering blebs was examined by slit lamp microscope 1 day,3,5,7,14,28 days after surgery.The filtering was typed according to the criteria of Kronfeld.Areas of the filtering bleb were measured and compared at various time points after surgery.Conjunctival and subconjunctival tissues at filtering zone were obtained 1 day,3,5,7,14,28 days after surgery,respectively,and hematoxylin and eosin staining was used for the histopathological evaluation.Results Well-elevated filtering blebs formed on the first day after surgery in 60 rat eyes.The survival time of filtering bleb was 7-17 days with the mean time of (11.93±2.23) days.Survival rate of the filtering blebs was 100% in 1-5 days,77% in 7 days,20% in 14 days and 0 in 28 days after operation.The filtering blebs were functional (Ⅰ type) in 1-5 days after operation,23 eyes were functional in 7 days after operation (13 eyes were Ⅰ type,10 eyes were Ⅱ type),4 eyes were functional in 14 days after operation (2 eyes were Ⅰ type,2 eyes wereⅡtype).The filtering area shrunken from (7.50±1.08) mm2 to (1.83±0.35) mm2during the observational duration.The filtering blebs area of different days after surgery were statistically significant (F =180.056,P=0.000),and significant differences were found between any two timepionts after surgery (all at P =0.000).Histological examination showed that inflammatory finding was dominant in postoperative day 1-3,such as infiltration of inflammatory cells,vasodilatation and edema of tissue.However,proliferating manifestation became the main signs 5 days later,showing the increase of fibroblasts,neovascularization and collagen formation.Conclusions The model of conjunctival filtering blebs in rats can be successfully established by implanting silicone tube into anterior chamber.The inflammatory response,proliferation of fibroblasts and the accumulation of collagen fibers are involved in the scarring process of filtering blebs.
7.Prevalence and influencing factors of overweight and obesity of adult residents in Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province, 2013

Objective To understand the prevalence and influencing factors of overweight and obesity in adult residents in Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province,so as to provide scientific basis for health policies and intervention strategies.Methods A total of 39 445 participants were recruited by multi-stage random cluster sampling method,and health data were obtained through questionnaires and physical examinations.Results The prevalence of overweight and obesity was 34.60% and 9.40%,respectively; and the standardized prevalence was 32.97% and 8.67%.The prevalence of overweight or obesity in males was 36.73% and 8.62%,in females 32.61% and 10.13%.The prevalence of overweight or obesity was increased with age,although the prevalence of overweight was decreased after 55 years of age (18-:16.31%; 25-:27.38%; 35-:37.28%; 45-:41.55%; 55-:40.71%; 65-:37.64%; 75-:32.08%) and the prevalence of obesity was decreased after 75 years of age (18-:2.49%; 25-:6.41%; 35-:9.64%; 45-:11.24%; 55-:12.07%; 65-:12.45%; 75-:8.88%).There were significant difference of the prevalence of overweight/obesity by educational level (x2=178.41,P<0.01; x2=243.59,P<0.01),profession (x2=191.28,P<0.01; x2=120.38,P<0.01) and marital status (x2=431.67,P<0.01; x2=118.43,P<0.01).In Logistic regression,female,vegetable over-intake every day and current cigarette smoking were protective factors of overweight/obesity,while middle and old-age,alcohol drinking and big appetite were risk factors of overweight/obesity.Conclusions A higher morbidity rate of overweight/obesity was found in Xuzhou City,and comprehensive interventions should be taken for high risk populations.
8.Burkholderia cenocepacia associated nosocomial lower respiratory tract infections: risk factors and drug resistance

Objective To identify the risk factors of Burkholderia cenocepacia associated nosocomial lower respiratory tract infections (NLRTIs),and to investigate the drug resistance of Burkholderia cenocepacia strains.Methods A total of 138 patients with Burkholderia cenocepacia associated NLRTIs and 40 patients with non-Burkholderia cenocepacia associated NLRTIs were enrolled in the study.All patients were collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University during January 2009 and December 2012.Clinical data and results of drug sensitivity tests were retrospectively reviewed.Chi-square test and Logistic regression analysis were performed to identify the risk factors of Burkholderia cenocepacia associated NLRTIs.Results Logistic regression analvsis showed that combination use of 2 or more antimicrobial agents,mechanical ventilation,stay in intensive care unit (ICU) for more than two weeks,use of antacid H2 antagonist and deep venous puncture were the independent risk factors of Burkholderia cenocepacia associated NLRTIs (OR =6.315,5.957,5.254,4.585 and 2.017,P <0.05).Burkholderia cenocepacia strains were sensitive to levofloxacin,ceftazidime and sulfamethoxazole; More than 40% strains were resistant to cefotaxime,ceftriaxone,cefepime,aztreonam and tetracycline; And nearly 100% strains were resistant to gentamicin,amikacin and tobramycin.Conclusion Burkholderia cenocepacia associated NLRTIs are more likely to occur in patients with combination use of 2 or more antimicrobial agents,mechanical ventilation,and those who stay in ICU for more than two weeks,or received antacid and deep venous punctures,and most Burkholderia cenocepacia strains are multiple drug resistant.
9.Analysis of risk factors for high-normal blood pressure in residents of urban Xuzhou, China

Objective To study risk factors for high-normal blood pressure (HNBP) in residents of urban Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 17 500 residents in urban area of Xuzhou from June to December 2008 by cluster sampling with self-designed questionnaire to collect their demographic information and measurements of body height, weight and blood pressure. Data were approached to univariate and multivariate non-conditional logistic regression analysis. Results In total, 17 306 residents finished the survey, with an overall response rate of 98.9percent. Results of univariate analysis revealed that 13 variables such as living region, sex, age,occupation, annual average family income, history of dyslipidemia, smoking, alcohol drinking, intake of pork, and vegetables, daily length of sleeping, body mass index (BMI), abdominal obesity, all were related to HNBP ( P < 0. 05 ). Results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that living region, sex,age, annual average family income, alcohol drinking, intake of vegetable, BMI, abdominal obesity all associated with HNBP (P<0. 05). Conclusions Older age, history of alcohol drinking, increased BMI,abdominal obesity all are risk factors to prompt occurrence of HNBP, and intake of large amount of vegetables is its protective factor.
10.Study on the relationship between poor sleep quality and stoke

Objective To explore the relationship between poor sleep quality and stoke.Methods A total of 738 stroke patients in Xuzhou city in 2013 were selected as the case group and age-and sex-matched healthy non-stroke subjects (n =738)as control group.The writer-designed general situation questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)analyses were conducted for a face-to-face investigation.Results No significant difference in mean age(66.1±10.9 and 65.8 ± 10.6,t =0.60,P =0.58)and in sex (50% vs.50 %) was found between two groups.There were statistically significant differences between case and control groups in baseline values of BMI(t=2.40,P =0.02),histories of hypertension(x2 =174.30,P =0.00),diabetes mellitus (x2 =27.20,P =0.00),coronary heart disease(x2 =115.60,P =0.00),smoking(x2 =6.10,P =0.01),drinking (x2 =7.30,P =0.01)and living stress(x2 =11.40,P =0.01).The PSQI sub-scores and PSQI total scores were higher in case group than in control group.The rate of poor sleep quality was higher in case group(279 cases,37.8 %) than in control group(136 cases,18.4 %) (x2 =6.10,P =0.01).Multivariate logistic analysis showed that,after adjusting for confounding factors of BMI,histories of hypertension,diabetes,coronary heart disease.smoking,drinking and living stress,the poor sleep quality in total male plus female was independent predictor variables for stroke[odds ratio(95 % CI) of 2.3 (1.8-3.0)],no matter their sex,with odds ratio (95 % CI) in male (2.5,1.7-3.7) or in female (2.2,1.5-3.2),respectively,but there was no significance difference in the odds ratio between male and female in case group(x2 =0.04,P=0.85).The risk stroke was 2.3 folds higher in poor sleep quality versus control in male plus female,with pure male or female of 2.5 or 2.2 folds.There was no significance difference between male and female in case group versus.the control(x2 =0.04,P=0.85).Conclusions Poor sleep quality is associated with the occurrence of stroke and may be a risk factor for stroke.
