1.Death Surveillance on Heart Diseases in Residents of Henan Province during Year 1987-2006

Objective To explore the death distribution characteristics of heart disease and the strategies for its prevention and control, based on data of the death rates of different heart diseases among the residents of Henan province from 1987 to 2006. Methods The mortality rates of heart diseases during past 20 years were analyzed by age, sex, living places (urban vs. rural), and by patterns of heart disease as well with SAS9.1. Results In these past 20 years, the mortality rates of heart diseases ranged from 60.93 to 85.10 per 100 000. The annual mortality rate averaged 74.47 per 100 000, and the standardized mortality rate was 61.10 per 100 000, which equaled to 13.14% of the total death number. The death rates of heart diseases had increased significantly with age. Among the male and female of the cities or the rural, the death was mainly due to coronary heart disease. Concludes According to the death distribution characteristics of heart diseases in Henan Province, the prevention and control efforts should focus on the population over 35 years of age.
2.Correlation of head nurse's authentic leadership and degree of solidarity among nurses in operating room

Objective To investigate the relationship between head nurse's authentic leadership and degree of solidarity among nurses in operating room.Method A total of 120 nurses in the operation room of 3 general hospitals in Jiamusi City were enrolled in the study by way of the questionnaire on authentic leadership and the scale of solidarity.Results The mean score on the head nurse's authentic leadership (41.28 ± 8.48) was above the middle-high level.The mean score on the solidarity (68.67 ± 8.82) was in the middle-high level.There was a positive correlation between the head nurses' authentic leadership and the degree of solidarity among nurses in the operating room.Conclusion Hospital and nursing administrators should take active and effective measures to improve the leadership of head nurses so as to improve the degree of solidarity among nurses in the operating room as well as the quality of nursing.
