Objective To investigate the research quality of present medical graduates and propose suggestions for improvement.Method A self-designed questionnaire entitled Investigating Questionnaire for Research Quality Analysis of Medical Graduates in Peking Union Medical College Hospital was distributed to the clinical and academic medical graduates in the hospital from July to August 2015.Among 276 collected questionnaires,270 were validated as effective.SPSS 18.0 software was used to statistically describe the result and to perform t test on different subgroups. Results The research quality average of the surveyed hospital was 10.28.Results revealed that in regard of the three aspects of research quality, research consciousness ranked first, followed by the research ability, while scientific spirit was the weakest.Academic medical graduates showed significantly higher scores than clinical graduates in terms of total research quality and every single aspect (P values less than 0.05).Conclusions To better cultivate the academic leaders in medical research,it is necessary to strengthen the research training for the graduates, practice their scientific thinking especially the clinical graduates, reinforce tutors' guidance, and promote communication and collaboration.

Objective To investigate the effects of the gene expressions of FAS、FASL、FADD and caspase-8 in esophageal carsinogenesis. Methods Immunohistochemical method was applied to detect the expression of FAS、FASL、FADD and caspase-8 proteins in esophageal epithelium. In situ hybridization method was applied to detect the expression of FADD and caspase-8 mRNA in esophageal epithelium. Results The positive rates of FAS, FADD and caspase-8 proteins and FADD、caspase-8 mRNA were decreased from normal epithelium to dysplasia and carcinoma tissues gradually. The positive rates of FASL protein were increased from normal epithelium to dysplasia and carcinoma tissues gradually. There was very significant statistical difference between carcinoma and normal epithelium(P

Objective To investigate the effects of curcumin on H2O2-induced the production of nitric oxide(NO) and reactive oxygen species(ROS) in mouse embryo-fibroblast.Methods Macrophage were collected in abdominal cavity of 6-8 weeks Kunming mouse, cultured macrophage(2?108 L-1) were divided into control group and curcumin groups randomly.Macrophage in H2O2 group were added into a single bolus of H2O2(1 mmol?L-1) for 30 min, macrophage in curcumin group were preincubated with different concentration of curcumin for 2 h followed by a 30 min incubation with 1 mmol?L-1 H2O2 and macrophage in control group were added into the same volume(0.1 mL) of 9 g?L-1 so-dium chloride.Immunocytochemistry was used to measure the contents of inducible nitric-oxide synthase(iNOS),NO production was determined by Griess reactive,ROS was determined by DCFH-DA Fluorescence proe. Results The production of NO in control group was little. The production of NO in H2O2 group markly highter than that in control group(P

Objective To study the expression level and clinical significance of bcl-XL gene in childhood medulloblastoma. Methods The expression of Bcl-XL protein and bcl-XL mRNA were determined by immunohistochemical staining and in situ hybridization in 41 samples of medulloblastoma tissues,as well as 20 normal brain tissues. Results The positive rate of Bcl-XL protein(90.2%) and bclXL mRNA(95.1%) in medulloblastoma group were significantly higher than those in normal human brain tissues(all P

This study is to analyze and identify the water soluble components of water buffalo horn (Bubali Cornu, WBH), and also establish a method for investigating these components. Shotgun proteomic analysis identified proteins in WBH aqueous extraction: keratin, collagen, desmoglein, etc. Ultrafiltration and LC-MS/MS were used to separate and identify the peptides in WBH aqueous extract, as a result, identified peptides were mainly derived from nonspecific degradation products of keratin and collagen, which including C-terminal peptides and non C-terminal peptides. Hypoxanthine, uridine, guanosine, and adenosine were identified by comparing with the standards. The strategy in present study could be used in analyzing water soluble components of animal horn derived TCM. It provides a reference for investigation of the material basis of animal horn derived TCM.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of suberselective uterine arterial embolization for uterine fibroids. Methods Uterine arterial embolization with golyvimylalcohol(PVA) particles or Iodized oil and Gelfoam or Pingyangmycin lipiodol and Gelfoam was performed in 182 patients with uterine fibroids. Results Bilateral and unilateral superselective uterine arterial embolization were performed in 173 cases and 9 cases respectively. 6~28 months (mean 11 months) after the procedure, complete disappearance of tumor(16 cases), an average shinkage of 67% in tumor volume(152 cases) and a mean 42% reduction of uterine volume were obtained in 168 followed-up cases. The clinical symptoms were relieved significantly. The main side effets were hypogastic pain(135/182).Conclusion Superselection uterine arterial embolization is an effective and microinvasive method in treating uterine fibroids.

Objective To explore the correlation and significance of V312F locus polymorphism of PCSK9 gene in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods We selected 3560 patients with coronary heart disease who came to our hospital from January 2014 to January 2016 as the case group. They were divided into 5 subgroups:angina group, myocardial infarction group, silent myocardial ischemia group, ischemic cardiomyopathy group, and sudden death group, according to their anatomic and pathophysiological features.Data of 1 000 people for physical examination served as the control group.PCR assay combined with direct sequencing method was applied to test V312F locus polymorphism of PCSK9 gene.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze relationship between V312F locus polymorphism of PCSK9 gene and types of coronary heart disease. The concentration of serum PCSK9 and lipids of the two groups were also measured. Results The serum levels of PCSK9,TC,TG and LDLC and ratio of positive family history in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the level of HDLC was lower than that of the controls (all P<0.05).Indexes of sudden death subgroup in the case group showed the most significant changes, while asymptomatic myocardial ischemia subgroup showed the weakest changes. The frequency of genotype TT,GT and allele T in the case group was 3.4%,16.6% and 11.7%,respectively,which was significantly higher than that in the control group (1.1%,10.2% and 6.2%) (all P<0.01).The highest frequency of genotype TT,GT and allele T was found in sudden death subgroup, and the lowest frequency of these indexes was found in asymptomatic myocardial ischemia subgroup (P<0.05).Results of Logistic regression analysis showed that genotype TT in V312F locus of PCSK9 gene was related to the severity of coronary heart disease (OR =8.463,95% CI from 3.505 to 17.854,P<0.001).Conclusion The mutation of V312F (T/G)locus of PCSK9 gene might be related to the severity of coronary heart disease.
