Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(6):14-17
Objective To compare the anesthesia effect and adverse effect of subarachnoid block anesthesia with different doses of sufentanil combined with bupivacaine 7.5 mg in aged patients, and explore the suitable dosage of sufentanil. Methods Eighty aged patients with ASA grade Ⅰ-Ⅲ undergoing elective lower limb surgery were divided into 4 groups by random digits table and each group was in 20 cases:group Ⅰ received bupivacaine 7.5 mg,group Ⅱ received bupivacaine 7.5 mg+sufentanil 2.5 μg,group Ⅲ received bupivacaine 7.5 mg+ sufentanil 5.0 μg,group Ⅳ received bupivacaine 7.5 mg+ sufentanil 7.5 μg.The vital signs, degree of motor and sensory nerve blockade and adverse effect were observed. Results Compared with base blood pressure, systolic blood pressure(SBP)and diastolic blood pressure(DBP)in group Ⅰ was significantly decreased after intrathecal injecton 15,30,45,60 minutes(P <0.05).There were no significant differences in the degree of motor nerve blockade in four groups(P > 0.05).The time of sensory nerve blockade in group Ⅰ[(194 ± 58)min]was significantly shorter than that in group Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ[(255 ±44),(242 ±58),(308 ± 123)min](P <0.05).The time of sensory nerve blockade in group Ⅳ was significantly longer compared with group Ⅱ and Ⅲ(P < 0.05).The number of pruritus in group Ⅳ(10 cases)was significantly more than that in group Ⅰ and Ⅱ(0,4 cases)(P<0.05).Conclusion Subarachnoid block anesthesia with sufentanil 2.5 or 5.0 μg combined with bupivacaine 7.5 mg in aged patients is safe and effective.

Objective To analyze the diagnosis and treatme nt of 47femoral fractures in the neonates. Methods The history records of neonatal femo ral fractures during the period from1971to 1998were reviewed. They included of 24boys and 23girls.Thirty-nine fractur es of the femur occurred in Cesarean section and 18during vaginal delive ry.All were unstable fractures,30o blique and 17transverse.All of them were treated conservatively. Results Twenty-nine of the 47cases were foll owed up with the mean period of58months(12to 168months).The average angular and shortening deformity was 39.25?(15?to 80?)and0.69cm(0.5to 1.5cm)respectively.Twenty-five cases we re without leg length discrepancy,4cases had their affected side 1cm longer than t he unaffected side.At final follow u p,ll of the patients could walk with normal gait, and the range of motion o f the hip and knee joint were normal.N o delayed union was found. Conclusion The deformity of the femoral fractur e in neonate is usually severe and dif ficult to get anatomical reduction with closed methods, the f emur of the neonate is of great potent ial of plasticity, and the union period is usually short. The treatment shou ld be simple, and the use of repetitiv ely close or open reduction must be avoided. The popular accepted crite ria of children shortening within 1-2cm,angulations within 25?and torsion within 15?should be enlarged in neonates.
3.Advances in treatment of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome
International Eye Science 2017;17(6):1082-1086
Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH)syndrome is an autoimmune disease attacking against pigmented cells, resulting in blindness and usually affecting multiple organs including ears, meninges, hair and skin.Correct diagnosis and immediate treatment in the early stage is vital to visual prognosis.Currently, corticosteroids is first-line drug.In addition, VKH patients refractory to corticosteroids can choose other treatment such as immunosuppressive agents and biological agents.
4.The quality of basic research in ophthalmology needs to be improved in China
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(8):673-675
Basic research program is essential to the investigation of the pathogenesis of ocular diseases and the development of novel strategies for the prevention and treatment for these diseases. With increasing support of research grants at various levels, basic research in ophthalmology has gained great achievement in China in recent years. A number of studies have recently been published in well known peer-review international journals and won the State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. However, we have to keep it in mind that basic research in ophthalmology should be improved qualitatively meanwhile, the imbalance in basic study among different areas needs to be resolved in the near future.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(5):1160-1163
The study of mechanical properties on heart valves can provide an important theoretical basis for doctors to repair heart valves and prosthetic valve materials research. In this paper, we present the current status of the mechanical property study methods of heart valve, expound the methods and special requirements about uniaxial tensile test and biaxial tensile test of the heart valve, and further discuss several establishment methods of heart valve constitutive models. We also discuss the development trend of heart valve mechanics.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
The human bone morphogenetic protein 7 (hBMP 7) gene was reconstructed in retroviral vector and transferred into incasing cells PT67 by liposome mediated method. The clones of the cells transferred with BMP 7 were selected by G418, and targeted rabbit bone marrow stem cells were infected with the virus granules which secreted from PT67 cells and also selected by G418. The mRNA and protein of BMP 7 gene in transferred cells were analyzed with hybridization in situ and immunohistochemistry. BMP 7 retrovirus vetor was successfully reconstructed. Cells transferred by PLNCX 2 hBMP 7 expressed abundant human BMP 7 mRNA and protein in the cytoplasm. However positive findings were not found in those cells that were not transferred. It may be used to increase the osteogenic capability of BMSc in the study of bone tissue engineering.
9.Treatment of acute retinal necrosis syndrome
International Eye Science 2015;(5):813-816
?Acute retinal necrosis syndrome ( ARN) is a serious eye disease, which caused by Herpes virus mostly, with unknown pathogenesis. Because of the aggressive progression, treatment of ARN is difficult, and the blindness rate is extremely high. Current treatment strategies are the combination of the drug therapy and the operative treatment. Drugs commonly used are antiviral drugs, glucocorticoids, and antiplatelet drugs, and the operative treatment includes laser photocoagulation and vitrectomy.

Journal of Environment and Health 2007;0(08):-
Objective To study the effects of tri-ortho-cresyl phosphate(TOCP) on mitochondrial membrane permeability in hen's nerve tissues and investigate the mechanism of the organophosphorus ester-induced delayed neurotoxicity(OPIDN).Methods Adult Roman hens were randomly divided into four groups, including three treated groups and one control group(24 in each group). The hens in the experimental groups were treated with TOCP by gavage at the single dosages of 185,375 and 750 mg/kg respectively.TOCP was dissolved in corn oil and administered at 0.65 ml/kg.The control hens received an equivalent volume of corn oil by gavage. The hens were sacrificed on the 1st,5th,15th and 21st day after treatment and the cerebrum, cerebellum, spinal cord were dissected and homogenized in ice bath. The mitochondria in these nerve tissues were extracted to determine the changes of the membrane permeability and membrane potential. Results Compared with the control group,no significant increase of the mitochondrial membrane permeability in the cerebrum was observed in treated groups. In the cerebellum, the membrane permeability in the 185 mg/kg group had no significant changes, while in the 375 and 750 mg/kg groups it increased significantly on the 1st and 5th day after TOCP treatment(P
