This research is to investigate study the flavonoids from stems of Nelumbo nucifera and the cytotoxic activities of iso- lated compounds. The constituents were separated by column chromatography,and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analyses. The isolated compounds were evaluated for cytoxic activities by MTT method. Twelve compounds were isolated and identified as rhamnazin-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), luteolin-3', 4'-dimethylether-7-O-beta-D-glucoside (2), kaempferol-3-O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), quercetin-3,3'-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), 1, 8-dihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyxanthone (5), isorhamnetin-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside(6) , kaempferol(7), isorhamnetin (8), quercetin(9), astragalin(10), hyperoside (11) and 1-hy- droxy-3,7,8-trimethoxyxanthone(12). All compounds were isolated from stems of this plant for the first time, and compounds 1-5 were firstly isolated from the family nelumbonaceae. Compounds 24 and 6 showed significant cytotoxic activities against BEL-7402 carcinoma cell lines at a concentration of 1 x 10(-5) mol x L(-1) with the inhibitory rate of 67.36%, 53.25%, 57.78%, 60.13% and 52.11%, respectively.

Objective Evaluate the safety and efficacy of indwelling healer tube in prevention and cure the conglutination after the surgurey of flexor tendon tenosynovitis. Methods During the year of 2001～2006, We have 38 young patients treated with indwelling of healer tube into the local or partial of the recovering muscle and sinew, then anesthetic and sodium hyaluronate were injected in the tube in certain intervals to lubicate and prevent conglutination after the operations of joint of children flexor tendon tenosynovitis. Then let the young patients do some healing training attne earlystage after surgery. Groups of patient were set up to make comparative analysis and evaluate the effectiveness of indwelling of the healer tubes according to the recovery status of the function of arthrosis and grasp after surgery. Results The result is that the rate of choiceness of 46 sinew is 89.1% in 34 cases with indwelling healer tube after the observing period from 6 months to 2 years, whereas the other group of 44 sinew in 30 cases has the rate of choiceness of 63.6%. The comparison has the significant conclusion of statistics (P<0.05). Conclusion It is convenient and safe to use indwelling healer tube to prevent the conglutination after the operation of joint the broken finger muscle and sinew of children. Therefore it is worth popularizing and promoting.

Objective To probe the clinical values of the human serum glycoprotein profiles for the diagnosis of common gynecological tumors. Methods A total of 123 clinical serum samples which included 31 breast cancer, 24 cervical cancer, 19 ovarian cancer and 49 healthy individuals were collected. A lectin microarray consisting of 15 lectins with different glycan binding specificities was used to determine the glycoprotein profiles of serum sam-ples. Stepwise discrimination analysis method was adopted to establish function model of clinical serum samples classification with SPSS 15. 0 software. Results Two grades of diagnostic discrimination function models were es-tablished. The first grade discrimination function could differentiate gynecological tumors from healthy individuals, the diagnostic accuracy rates of retrospective inspection were 85. 7% and 83. 8% respectively, and the total diag-nostic accuracy rate was 84.6%. The second grade discrimination function was used to differentiate breast tumor, cervical tumor and ovarian tumor, the diagnostic accuracy rates of retrospective inspection were 96.8%,75.0%and 78.9% respectively, and the total diagnostic accuracy rate was 85.1%. Conclusion The human serum gly-coprotein profiles are associated with gynecological tumors, and the established discrimination function models based on lectin microarray data have a helpful reference value for the clinical diagnosis of gynecological tumors.

Objective To know the advantages and disadvantages of problem-based learning from students'angle. Methods Interviewed 15 students by PBL scale and face to face interview,to know their ideas about problem-based learning,and then analyzed the results. Results PBL contributed to developing problem-solving skills,self-directed learning,team collaboration and extending professional knowl-edge. But it failed to show positive effect on students'learning motivation. Conclusions PBL has two sides on the outcomes of learning. Implementing PBL appropriately could gain the optimal effects.

The insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) is a key regulator of mRNA metabolism and transport during development. Recent studies indicate that IGF2BP1 is aberrantly expressed in liver cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, ovarion cancer, breast cancer, etc.. IGF2BP1 expression is found to promote tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and correlate with poor prognosis. Further understanding of the mechanism of IGF2BP1 in malignancy may provide new targeted therapy strategies.

This study is to study is to investigate the coumarins from Fruit of Cnidium monnieri and their cytotoxic activities. The constituents were separated by column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analyses. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytoxic activities by MTT method. Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as osthole (1), bergaptan (2), xanthotoxol (3), xanthotoxin (4), imperatorin (5), isopimpinellin (6), osthenol (7), psoralen (8), 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin (9), oxypeucedaninhydrate (10), and swietenocoumarin F (11). Compounds 7, 9-11 were isolated from the Cnidium genus for the first time. Compounds 1,5,10 and 11 showed significant cytotoxic activities against L1210 cell lines at a concentration of 1 x 10(-5) mol x L(-1) with inhibitory rates of were 70.13, 63.10, 55.77, and 75.08% respectively.

Objective To investigate the mechanism and prevention of gallstones after esophageal cancer surgery.Methods Clinical data from 297 cases of esophageal cancer patients underwent surgical treatment from 2007 to 2010 inour hospital were retrospectively analyzed for the incidence of post-operative gallstones.ResultsNo cholecystitis and gallstones were detected by B-ultrosound before the operation in the 39 patients.13.1％ of the patients developed gallstones from 1 month to 3 years after the operation.The incidence was significantly higher than that in general population.Conclusion There is a high chance of gallstones in patients after radical resection of esophageal cancer.Cutting vagus nerve plays an important role in the incidence of gallstones.Preservation of vagus nerve during the surgery should be performed as possible.

Objective To investigate medical students' cognitive status and attitude toward urban-rural integration and to find the influencing factors in an aim to provide information for the process of urban and rural integration.Methods Sampling survey was conducted among the junior students who were major in eight-year clinical medicine,five-year clinical medicine and nursing (undergraduate) with self-made questionnaire.The data entry was done by 19.0 SPSS software and descriptive statistical analysis and ONE-WAY ANOVA were used to do statistical analysis.Results Students who didn't know urban-rural integration accounted for 53.2％,while 80.7％ students supported urban-rural integration.Students' major and residence were two influencing factors of working in the countryside.Conclusion Measures should be taken to raise students' awareness of urban-rural integration based.Targeted measures should be adopted based on students' majors and residences.

Objective To investigate the effects of somatostatin on the apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells. Methods The expression of somatostatin mRNA in colorectal cancer tissues from 79 patients who had been admired to Yijishan Hospital from January 2004 to October 2006 was detected by nested RT-PCR. The apoptotic index of colorectal cancer cells was detected by TUNEL, and the protein expressions of somatostatin, Fas, FasL, caspase-3 and caspase-8 in colorectal cancer tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. All data were analyzed by chi-square test, q test and Spearman rank correlation coefficient. Results There was a positive correlation between the mRNA and protein expression of somatostatin (r = 0.98, P < 0.05). The mRNA and protein expression of somatostatin in poorly and moderately differentiated colorectal cancers were significantly lower than that in well differentiated colorectal cancers (χ~2 = 10.78, 11.24, 5.27, 5.24, P < 0.05). The positive expression rates of mRNA and protein of somatostatin in papillary adenocarcinoma were significantly higher than those in mucinous adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma (χ~2= 6.56, 6.99, 5.44, 7.39, P < 0.05). The mRNA and protein expression of somatostatin in colorectal cancer in Dukes A and B were significantly higher than that in Dukes C and D (χ~2 =5.17, 4.06, P <0.05). The apoptotic index in high or moderate somatostatin expression group was significantly higher than that in low somatostain expression group (q = 5.66, 4.21, P < 0.05), and the positive expression rates of Fas, caspase-8 and caspase-3 in high or moderate somatostatin expression group were significantly higher than those in low somatostafin expression group (χ~2= 5.48, 5.62, 6.89, 4.32, 4.19, 3.91, P <0.05). Conclusion Somatostatin plays an important role in the regulation of cell apoptosis in colorectal cancer, and the mechanism may be related to the aberrant expression of Fas/FasL.
