2.Comments of spleen-yin theory of doctors of Ming Dynasty
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(04):-
Spleen-yin theory was the innovation of doctors in Ming Dynasty for Piwei theory of Dongyuan based on the inheritance of nourishing yin theory of Danxi. But because of rise of stomach yin theory, spleen yin theory was ignored gradually. This article revealed the neutralizing therapeutic conception contained in this theory, which was hoped to be applyed into medical practice and to be deepened furtherly.
3.Diabetes and osteoporosis
Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2001;0(10):-
Diabetic Osteoporosis is a general metabolic bone disease having fracture tendency because of osteopenia in unit volume, microstructural changes of bone tissue, decreased bone strength and increased friability, which is one of important complications of diabetes mellitus in skeletal system.Studies on bone involvement in patients with diabetes mellitus have generated conflicting results, largely because of the pathogenetic complexity of the condition. There are many factors, including advantageous and disadvantageous factors, influence the probability of osteoporotic fractures in diabetics.Adequate glycemic control, and calcium and vitamin D intakes, and the prevention and treatment of diabetic complications are key elements in the elimination of osteoporosis in diabetes mellitus.Patients with osteoporosis and diabetes should be offered the same pharmacological treatments as non-diabetics.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of intraosseous versus traditional infusion in critical pediatric patients under resuscitation. Methods 56 critical pediatric patients under resuscitation, who were difficult to establish a venous access, were divided into two groups:intraosseous infusion group (IOI group)and traditional group. The clinical characteristics, lab tests, clinical efficacy and complications of all patients were recorded in detail. Results The general characteristics of two groups were comparable. The mean operation time to establish an emergency infusion access in the IOI group was (1.01 ±0.53)min,which was significantly shorter than (8.97 ±2.36)min of the traditional group(t =4.856,P <0.01).The IOI group had a greater efficacy over the traditional group (50.0% vs 36.7%),in the IOI group, the patients showed obvious positive effect and less patients had no efficacy(χ2 =18.476, P <0.05 ).In addition, lower complication rate and mortality were observed in the IOI group. Conclusion For critical pediatric patients under resuscitation whose intravascular access cannot be achieved through peripheral venous, intraosseous infusion is prior to traditional infusion.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Aim Vascular endothelial cell growth inhibitor(VEGI) is a recently discovered novel member of the TNF superfamily, which is expressed predominantly in endothelial cells. As an endothelial cell-specific negative regulator of angiogenesis, the relationship between structure and function of VEGI is not understood at present. Methods In order to explore the functional key amino acids of VEGI,four mutants of VEGI(E45→R,G47→A,Y111→F,Y111→T) were construced by site-directed mutagenesis, and recombinant proteins were generated from E.coli.Four mutant proteins behaved similar to the wild type VEGI in various physico-chemical assays. The proliferation of HUVEC and chick choriallantic membrane assay were performed to study the activity of four mutants. Results The mutant E45→R significantly decreased the biological activity, and the mutant G47→A caused a slight drop on activity, but the mutants Y111→F,Y111→T almost completely abolished biological activity. Conclusion It suggests that Y111 is an important residue in biological activity, which may play a direct role in receptor recognition. Moreover, the tyrosine ring and hydroxy group of the amino acid are important determinant of biological activity.Additionally,E45 also plays an important role in biological activity of VEGI.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2011;27(8):700-702
Recently, the incidence of both diabetes mellitus and diabetic foot has been increasing.Ischemia, neuropathy, and infection are major causes of diabetic foot ulcer. In addition to other conventional treatments, hyperbaric oxygen is an effective adjunctive therapy with less side-effects. Hyperbaric oxygen may play a role through different mechanisms in improving the prognosis of diabetic foot.

Objective To evaluate the correlation between the Waters classification based on shoulder CT or MRI scan and passive shoulder external rotational angle before operation in the glenohumeral joint deformity caused by shoulder internal rotational contracture secondary brachial plexus birth palsy. Methods 33 patients suffered the shoulder internal rotational contracture secondary brachial plexus birth palsy (Tassin classification Ⅱ 19, Ⅲ 13, Ⅳ 1) including 12 girls and 21 boys, ranging from 10 months to 16 years old with an average of 4.5 years old, underwent either CT or MR examination in shoulder joint. The retroversion of the glenoid (glenoscapular angle) and the ratio of humeral head posterior subluxation were measured on the CT or MRI images according to the method described by Friedman. The deformity of glenohumeral joint was classificated according to the Waters criteria, while the passive shoulder external rotational angle was measured at neutral position in involved shoulder joint. The correlation between the external rotation and the deformity was analysed. Results 33 cases with shoulder internal rotational contracture secondary brachial plexus birth palsy were evaluated according to the Waters criteria. 4 cases were classified as typeⅠdeformity, 4 cases as typeⅡ, 7 cases as type Ⅲ, 6 cases as type Ⅳ; 5 cases as typeⅤ; 7 case as type Ⅵ. The type of glenohumeral deformity was significantly associated with the limited range of passive external rotation of the shoulder joint. Conclusion The Waters classification of the glenohumeral deformity according to the Waters criteria can accurately demonstrated the deformity of the glenohumeral joint caused by shoulder internal rotational contracture secondary to brachial plexus birth palsy.

Objective To observe the effects of different concertrations of calcifying nanoparticles (CNP) on growth and proliferation of human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2),and to explore the effects of autophagy of human renal tubular epithelial cells induced by CNP. MethodsNormal growth HK-2 cells were cultured in vitro and the culture medium was changed to serum-free medium after cell growth to confluence,CNP with different concentrations were then added and the cell proliferation inhibition was measured by MTT assay after 12,24,48 and 72 h co-incubation.EGFP-LC3 express plasmid was transfected into HK-2 cells,CNP with certain concentration was then added after 24h incubation. The formation of autophagosomes and their adherence to cells were observed by electron microscopy, and EGFP-LC3 staining was used to detect the formation of autophagosome by flourescence microscopy after 3,6,24 and 48 h co-incubation. ResultsCNP presented a concentration-dependent cell proliferation inhibition on HK-2 cells, the inhibitory ratio in cell proliferation was 14.5 % after 48 h co-incubation when CNP density was 0.05 mg/ml,and the inhibitory ratio was 21.5% after 72 h co-incubation when CNP density was 0.1 mg/ml.Autophagosome formation and CNP adherence to cell surface could be observed by electron microscopy 6 h after CNP was added to the DMEM medium. The LC3-positive dots were observed in HK-2 cells incubated with CNP.Conclusions Autophagy of HK-2 could be activated by co-incubation with CNP,which may play an important role in the formation of nephrolithiasis.

Objective To investigate the effect of enteral nutrition on patients with COPD during acute exacerbation stage. Methods Subjects hospitalized for an acute exacerbation of COPD (n=58) were assigned into two groups: enteral nutrition group (n=33) or parenteral nutrition group (n=25). The blood indexes of nutrition at day 5 and day 10,the incidence of complication and the mortality were observed. Results Less decrease of serum proteins was detected in the enteral nutrition group as compared with that in the parenteral alimentation group (day 5 P
