Objective To strengthen the control of blood quality, ensure the safety of blood for clinical use and effectively contain the occurrence of transfusion transmitted disease. Methods Using the method of random sample survey, appraisal was made once again of the blood for clinical use in the blood stations of 14 cities(regions) of Hunan Province in 1997~2001, blood that had passed reexamination by relevant blood collecting and supplying institutions. The appraisal, conducted in the proportion of 10% of the yearly use of blood, focused on 5 indexes, including HBsAg, Anti HCV, Anti HIV, RPR, and ALT. Results 6 211 blood samples were checked, with the total positive rate being 7.89‰. Among theses, the positive rate of samples sent for testing was 7.78‰, the positive rate of samples collected and tested on the spot was 9.35‰, the positive rate of HBsAg was 2.59‰, the positive rate of Anti HCV was 3.86‰, the positive rate of Anti HIV after primary screening was 0.64‰(ascertained to be negative through Western Blot testing), the rate of ALT≥25 IU was 0.81‰, and the testing of syphilis was all negative. Conclusion Serious problems remain to be solved with regard to the safety of blood for clinical use.

Modern Clinical Nursing 2013;(5):72-75
Objective To investigate the professional attitudes and occupational values of undergraduate students and to compare the differences between the first-year and fourth-year students? Method A scale concerning the professional attitude and a questionnaire concerning the occupational values were used to investigate the occpational values in 196 first-year and fourth year college nursing students? Results The professional attitude score of the first-year students was(6?7±1?3),which was significantly higher than that of the fourth students(5?3±1?1,P = 0?027)? The occupational value on the hygiene factor of the first-year students was significantly higher than that of the fourth-year students(P < 0?001)? The occupational value of reputation and social status, development between the students of the two grades achieved no significant difference? Conclusions The professional attitude and occupational value of students from different grades are different? The professional attitude and occupational value of the senior students tend to be rational?

Epilepsy is a complications of brain injury or stroke, and is a common diseases in reha-bilitation or neurology department.Transcranial magnetic stimulation as a classical treatment means for stroke or brain injury, but also can promote the recovery of epilepsy. However, there is no clear clinical re-port for safety of epilepsy patients use both donepezil and transcranial magnetic stimulation .The article re-views the literature.Clinicians maybe provided some help.

Clinical laboratory biological safety is one of whole society safety. This paper introduced briefly the current situation of clinical medical laboratory biosafty in the hospital. and set forth common biological hazards specifically for whose characteristics. Combining the biosafety administration measures from abroad, the issue of laboratory biological safety administration was considered, and put forward some suggestions according to related law and regulation of national laboratory safety administration in order to strengthen clinical laboratory biosafety administration.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical characteristics and diagnosis of mucopolysaccharidosis VII.
METHODThe clinical and biochemical features of an infant with mucopolysaccharidosis VII confirmed by enzyme assay were analyzed.
RESULTThe 2 month-old male infant showed hydrops fetalis, mental retardation, coarse face, corneal clouding, hepatosplenomegaly, hernias, Alder-Reilly granules in the leucocytes and decreased platelet (32 × 10(9)/L). The biochemical markers showed urinary glycosaminoglycans (GAG) (532.8 mg/L, controls < 70.0 mg/L). The ratio of GAG/creatinine was 161.3 (controls: 26.2 ± 11.7). Serum chitotriosidase activity was 315.8 nmol/(ml·h) [control < 53 nmol/(ml·h)]. Beta-glucuronidase activity was deficient in isolated leukocytes.
CONCLUSIONSevere form of mucopolysaccharidosis VII exhibited characteristics of hydrops fetalis, hepatosplenomegaly, coarse face, thrombocytopenia and Alder-Reilly granules in the leucocytes. The measurements of GAG in urinary and beta glucuronidase in leucocytes are critical to diagnosis and deferential diagnosis.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy in the treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR) of lung qi deficiency and cold syndrome between Jin's three-needle therapy and western medication.
METHODSSixty-six patients were randomized into an acupuncture group and a western medication group, 33 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, acupuncture was applied at three-nose points [Yingxiang (LI 20), Shangyingxiang (EX-HN 8) and Yintang (GV 29); Cuanzhu (BL 2) was added for frontal headache] and three-back points [Dazhu (BL 11), Fengmen (BL 12) and Feishu (BL 13)], once every day. Ten treatments made one session. Two sessions of treatment were required. In the western medication group, desloratadine oral suspension was prescribed, 5 mg each time, once a day, for 20 days. The scores of the symptoms and physical signs in AR patients as well as the clinical efficacy were observed between the two groups.
RESULTSThe total effective rate was 93.9% (31/33) in the acupuncture group, which was better than 72.7% (24/33) in the western medication group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores of AR symptoms and physical signs as well as the total score were all reduced compared with those before treatment in the two groups (all P < 0.01). The score of every item in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the western medication group after treatment (score of symptoms: 4.70 +/- 2.07 vs 6.55 +/- 2. 69, score of physical signs: 0.85 +/- 0.67 vs 1.45 +/- +0.62, total score: 5.36 +/- 2.70 vs 8.00 +/- 2.91, all P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONJin's three-needle therapy achieves superior efficacy on AR of lung-qi deficiency and cold syndrome, which is better than desloratadine oral suspension.

Objective To investigate the psychological status of patients with brain concussion. Methods A total of 186 patients with brain concussion were evaluated using Symptom Check-List 90 (SCL-90) and the scores were compared with the norms. Results The general scores (137.71±39.48), total mean scores (1.53±0.44) and positive object number (32.90±19.41) of SCL-90, as well as the factor scores ofsomatization(1.57±0.52), compulsion(1.79±0.50), anxiety disorder(1.50±0.49), hostility(1.63± 0.57), phobic anxiety(1.57±0.51), paranoid ideation(1.62±0.51) and psychoticism ( 1.49±0.43) in the patients with brain concussion were all higher than the normal ones (129.96±38.76, 1.44±0.43, 24.92± 18.41, 1.37±0.48, 1.62±0.58, 1.39±0.43, 1.48±0.56, 1.23±0.41, 1.43±0.57, 1.29±0.42, respectively)(P< 0.05). The scores of interpersonal sensitivity (1.67±0.54) were also significantly higher than that of normal (P>0.05). Conclusion Brain concussion may lead to psychological disturbance, for which early interventions should be administered.
