OBJECTIVE To study the distribution of pathogens and their antibiotic resistance in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)patients with gram-negative bacterial infections,for guiding the rational use of antibiotics therapy.METHODS The identification was analyzed by ATB Expression automatic microbiology analytical instrument system.The bacterial susceptibility test was done by Kirby-Bauer agar diffusion method.RESULTS Among 346 patients included,112(32.4%)had bacterial infections.A total of 181 pathogens strains had been isolated.Among 181 isolates,Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Acinetobacter baumannii,Proteus mirabilis,and Enterobacter cloacae were the main pathogens.The ESBLs producing rates in E.coli and K.pneumoniae were 27.5% and 28.1%.Piperacillin/tazobactam and cefepime had less activity against A.baumannii and low resistant to other Gram-negative bacilli(0-46.2% and 13.0-33.3%).Meropenem,imipenem and cefoperazone/sulbactam showed greater activity against Gram-negative bacilli,their resistant rates were 0-17.1%,0-22.9% and 0-38.5%,respectively.CONCLUSIONS The clinical features of SLE patients with bacterial infections are lack of specificity.The data will be useful for reasonably choosing antimicrobial agents in the treatment of SLE patients with bacterial infections.

Recent trends in generating multiple, large-scale datasets provide new challenges to manipulating the relationship of different types of components, such as gene expression and drug response data. Integrative analysis of compound response and gene expression datasets generates an opportunity to capture the possible mechanism of compounds by using signature genes on diverse types of cancer cell lines. Here, we integrated datasets of compound response and gene expression profiles on NCI60 cell lines and constructed a network, revealing the relationship for 801 compounds and 341 gene probes. As examples, obtusol, which shows an exclusive sensitivity on a small number of colon cell lines, is related to a set of gene probes that have unique overexpression in colon cell lines. We also found that the SLC7A11 gene, a direct target of miR-26b, might be a key element in understanding the action of many diverse classes of anticancer compounds. We demonstrated that this network might be useful for studying the mechanisms of varied compound response on diverse cancer cell lines.

Objective To investigate the usefulness of Utstein template to guide the assessment and study of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in our medical practice because it has been popularized in many countries since 1991.Methods A prospective observational study using Utstein CPR registry form to evaluate the epidemiological features and outcomes of 511 patients resuscitated in the emergency department.Results Of 511 CPR patients registered,higher cardiac arrest rates were observed in the group of patients aged 40- 70 years. In 511 CPR patients registered,preexisting chronic diseases were common including cardiovascular diseases ( 190,37.2％ ) cerebrovascular diseases (48,9.4％ ) and respiratory diseases (39,7.6％ ).Of them,173 cardiac arrest patients (33.9％) had underlying cardiac causes,such as acute myocardial infarction (AMI) found in 109 (21.3％) patients,and ventricular fibrillation witnessed during first cardiac monitoring in eighty ( 15.7％ ) patients.The restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) rate and survival rate at discharge of in - hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) patients were 47.0％ and 13.5％respectively,but 16.7％ and 4.7％ respectively in the out - hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients (P ＜0.01,both ). Conclusions This study indicated that the cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases,and respiratory diseases were the most common preexisting chronic diseases found in cardiac arrest patients.Myocardial infarct,stroke and trauma were the most common precipitation causes of cardiac arrest in the recruited patients.The rates of ROSC and survival at discharge were significantly higher in statistics in patients with IHCA than those in ones with OHCA.

In this study, real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to detect coxsakie and adenovirus receptor (CAR) expression. Both localization and quantity were evaluated in the uteri obtained at days post coitus (dpc) 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5. Outcome of PCR was assessed by 2(-ΔΔCt) method. Image Pro-Plus 6.0 software was used for quantifying mean density of CAR expression in immunohistochemical sections. We found relatively weak CAR expression in the mouse uteri during implantation window. PCR and immunohistochemistry revealed highest CAR expression was detected on dpc 2.5 followed by down-regulation of CAR at dpc 4.5 and 6.5 (with significant difference). At dpc 8.5, CAR expression was increased slightly again. It is concluded that during implantation, the expression of CAR mRNA and protein is declined, resulting in the impairment of tight junction between cavity epithelium cells. After implantation window closure, CAR appears again to maintain epithelium stability. CAR might play an important role during embryo implantation procedure.

Objective To investigate cleanliness of hospital environmental object surfaces and hands of health care workers(HCWs).Methods The adenosine triphosphate (ATP)bioluminescence assay was used to detect object surfaces and hands of HCWs in a hospital,on-the-spot intervention was conducted.Results The qualified rates of hospital environmental object surfaces and ventilator-relevant object surfaces were 58.14% (200/344)and 69.88%(116/166)respectively,the qualified rate of ventilator tracheal intubation site was low (29.17%);the qualified rate of telephone surfaces was the lowest (27.27%).The qualified rates of ventilator-relevant object surfaces used con-tinuously for ≥48h and <48 h were 56.70%(55/97)and 88.41 %(61/69)respectively,there was significant differ-ence between the two(χ2 =19.26,P <0.01).The qualified rates of HCWs’hands before and after intervention were 34.18% and 85.58% respectively,relative light unit (RLU)values were (1 033.46±106.20)and (80.46±10.68) respectively,the qualified rates and RLU before and after intervention were both significantly different (both P <0.01).Conclusion Contamination of object surfaces and hands’of HCWs in hospital dynamic environment is seri-ous,ATP bioluminescence detection and on-the-spot intervention is helpful for improving cleanliness of hospital en-vironment object surfaces and HCWs’compliance to hand hygiene.

We developed a user-friendly, interactive program to simultaneously cluster and visualize omics data, such as DNA and protein array profiles. This program provides diverse algorithms for the hierarchical clustering of two-dimensional data. The clustering results can be interactively visualized and optimized on a heatmap. The present tool does not require any prior knowledge of scripting languages to carry out the data clustering and visualization. Furthermore, the heatmaps allow the selective display of data points satisfying user-defined criteria. For example, a clustered heatmap of experimental values can be differentially visualized based on statistical values, such as p-values. Including diverse menu-based display options, QCanvas provides a convenient graphical user interface for pattern analysis and visualization with high-quality graphics.

Objective To investigate the expression and the relationship with angiogenesis of miR-195 and NLR family member X1 (NLRX1) in granulation tissue after negative-pressure wound treatment (NPWT).Methods Six patients were collected who received negative pressure treatment with refractory wound granulation.The levels of miR-195, NLRX1 mRNA and NLRX1 proteins were measured.The expression of NLRX1 and the micro-vascular density (MVD) of CD31 were detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC).Results MiR-195 and MVD were significantly higher in granulation tissue after 7 days negative pressure treatment (P＜0.05), and NLRX1 was significantly lower (P ＜0.05).In granulation tissue,the expression of miR-195 was negatively correlated with NLRX1 (r =-0.856, P ＜0.001), the expression of NLRX1 was negatively correlated with MVD (r =-0.618, P ＜0.05), and the expression of miR-195 was positively correlated with MVD (r =0.630, P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Negative pressure wound therapy can promote the formation of granulation vessels and the wound healing.The therapeutic mechanism may inhibit the expression of NLRX1 and upregulate the expression of miR-195 to promote angiogenesis.

Objective To discuss the application of shear wave elastography and strain elasticity imaging diagnosis of infants with congenital muscular torticollis. Methods Children with congenital muscular torticollis in 50 patients and 100 healthy infants were recruited for the research at Shezhen Children′s Hospital in the period of September to December, analyzing factors in normal sternocleidomastoid two mode ultrasonic elastography, including the young′s modulus, shear wave velocity, shear modulus and the ratio of strain results, comparing the change of elasticity between the patients and normal. Results The elastic parameters of the sternocleidomastoid showed no statistically significant difference between the genders, the left side and the right side. The results of young′s modulus, shear wave velocity and shear wave modulus were higher in long axis section than the short axis section, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However, the results of the strain ratio and thickness was not statistically significant. The young′s modulus, shear wave velocity and shear wave modulus are higher in the stretch back position than symmetrical supine position, and the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). But those of strain ratio and thickness was not statistically significant. The thickness of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the young′s modulus, shear wave velocity, shear modulus and the ratio of strain results ultrasound elastic results were higher in the lesion side than the healthy side, and the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The ultrasound elastic imaging of multimodal technique can quantify the elasticity of the normal infant and the patients sternocleidomastoid, be used for diagnose for the infants with the congenital muscular torticollis.

Esophageal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in China. Lymph node metastasis is one of the most important prognostic factors and severely affect the long-term survival after surgical treatment. Therefore, systemic two-field lymph node dissection including thoracic and abdominal draining nodes of the esophagus during surgery is essential in order to improve the long-term survival for the patients with thoracic esophageal cancer, and it is also the basis for precise staging and postoperative adjuvant treatment regimen- making. As reported in the literature, lymph node metastases along bilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve was the highest, therefore, the lymph node dissection along bilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve is the most important manipulation during esophagectomies, however, it is also the most technically difficult procedure during operation. It usually results in postoperative complications especially the respiratory complications due to paralysis of recurrent laryngeal nerves caused by lymph node dissection. Therefore, the gain and loss of lymph node dissection along bilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve has been a disputed and entangle topic for thoracic surgeons, and the purpose of this paper is to summarize author′s experience and the key technology to prevent the associated complications in lymph node dissection along recurrent laryngeal nerve during esophagectomies for the patients with thoracic esophageal cancer.
