Objective Toinvestigatetheeffectoftranscatheterarterialchemoembolization(TACE)combinedwithinterferon(IFN)adju-vanttherapyinthetreatmentofadvancedprimarylivercancer,andtoprovidenewideasforadjuvanttherapiesafterTACE.Methods The databases including Cochrane Library,PubMed,Medline,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang Data,and VIP were searched to obtain all articles pub-lished before January 2015,and the randomized controlled trials (RCTs)about the comparison between TACE combined with IFN and TACE alone published in journals at home and abroad were included.Quality assessment and data extraction were performed for these articles,and Revman5.1softwarewasappliedforthemeta-analysis.Results Atotalof6RCTswereincluded,consistingof311patientsintheIFN adjuvant therapy group and 308 patients in the placebo group.The results of the meta -analysis showed that compared with the placebo group,the IFN adjuvant treatment group had significantly lower 1 -,2-,and 3-year recurrence rates and a significantly higher 1 -year survivalrate(P=0.006,0.002,0.002,and0.030).Conclusion IFNadjuvanttherapycanreducetheriskoflivercancerrecurrence after TACE and improve the patients′survival rate.

Objective To evaluate the interference of occult blood in urine (urinary hemoglobin) and to determine the protein in urine by benzethonium chloride .Methods By reference to EP7‐A2 of CLSI ,urine containing different concentrations of hemoglobin were preparated to produce the dose‐effect curve,while 50 cases of clinical urine with varying degrees of occult blood were col‐lected for clinical sample bias test.Urinary protein was quantified by benzyl chloride in DPP roche comparing with sulfosalicylic acid method .Results When the urinary hemoglobin was 0 .2 g/L or higher ,the determined result of urinary protein of urinary pro‐tein would be significantly interfered by benzethonium chloride method .The clinical sample bias testshowed that clinical urine with different degrees of occult blood caused positive interference to the determination of protein by benzethonium chloride .Conclu‐sion Urine samples with occult blood and /or containing red blood cells should be emphasized and evaluate the accuracy when the urinary protein is quantified by benzyl chloride .If necessary ,it should be confirmed by sulfosalicylic acid .

Objective To investigate the characteristics of brain default mode network of patients with Parkinson disease (PD) in resting state with functional MRI. Methods Fourteen PD patients and 14 matched controls were selected and posterior cingulate cortex was regardes as region of interest. Results Compared with control group, brain default mode network of PD patients in resting state was abnormal, including decreased functional connectivity and increased functional connectivity. The brain areas with decreased functional connectivity included left inferior parietal lobule, right precuneus, medial prefrontal and left superior temporal gyrus. The brain area of increased functional connectivity included left cerebellar tonsil, left postcentral gurus, left superior parietal lobule, left precuneus, right inferior temporal gyrus, right cuneus, right lingual gyrus and left middle temporal gurus. Conclusion The brain default mode network of PD patients is abnormal in resting state.

Objective To investigate functional connectivity changes in Parkinson disease in the resting brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging.Methods Nine patients with Parkinson disease and eight age-matched healthy volunteers were entered into the study.The bilateral globus pallidus were chosen as seed points, the functional MR data acquired in the resting state were processed to investigate functional connectivity in PD patients and the results were compared with those of the controls.Results In age-matched healthy controls, there are regions which had functional connectivity with bilateral globus pallidus, including bilateral temporal poles, bilateral hippocampus, bilateral thalami, posterior cingulate cortex, right middle occipital gyrus and fight superior parietal gyms.In PD patients, brain regions including bilateral cerebellum, left hippocampus, bilateral superior temporal gyri, left inferior frontal gyms, left middle frontal gyms, left precentral gyms, left inferior parietal gyrus and left superior parietal gyms, had functional connectivity with bilateral globus pallidus. Compared to healthy controls, increased functional connectivity in bilateral cerebellum, bilateral temporal lobes, left frontal lobe and left parietal lobe, and decreased functional connectivity in bilateral thalami were observed in PD patients.Conclusion Abnormal changes of brain functional connectivity exists in Parkinson's disease in the resting state.

Objective To verify the criteria proposed by National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry(NACB)guidelines in investigating the factors that affect serum TSH determination, and to determine the reference range of serum TSH in iodine-sufficient areas of China. Methods In 2007, 5 348 inhabitants were enrolled from 3 iodine-sufficient areas of Liaoning Province, and were asked to fulfill the questionnaire. Serum TSH, thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb), and thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb)were determined, and thyroid ultrasonography was carried out. Results The distribution of TSH levels was skewed in healthy people and closely fit the curve of Gaussian distribution after logarithmic transformation. The levels of TSH in subjects of 12-19 years of age were significantly higher than those of other age groups(P＜0.01), and no significant difference was found among the latter groups. TSH level in females [(1.68±1.90)mIU/L] was higher than in males[(1.45±1.92)mIU/L, P＜0.01]. The reference range of TSH was 0.43-4.74 mIU/L in males, and 0.48-5.39 mIU/L in females. Family history of thyroid disease, abnormal thyroid ultrasonography, and positive thyroid antibodies were the factors that influenced TSH level. Conclusion The reference range of serum TSH in iodine-sufficient areas of China is established.

Objective To investigate the relationship between serum thyrotrophin(TSH)and dyslipidemia in subclinical hypothyroid and euthyroid subjects. Methods An epidemiological study on diabetes and thyroid diseases was performed in Dadong community, Shenyang city, in 2007. 110 subjects with subclinical hypothyroidism(SCH)and 1 240 euthyroid subjects were enrolled in the study. Neither history of thyroid diseases nor administration of thyroid-related and lipid-regulating medicines were reported in these subjects. The levels of serum thyroid hormones, lipids, fasting plasma glucose(FPG), and insulin were determined. Results (1)Patients with SCH had significantly lower HDL-C levels than those who were euthyroid.(2)According to the guideline of treatment of adult dyslipidemia in China, the lipid profiles were each categorized. Mean TSH levels were higher in subjects in the dyslipidemia subclass than subjects in the normal subclass. The differences were significant in high LDL-C subclass in overweight individuals. In euthyroid overweight women, mean TSH levels were significantly higher in high LDL-C subclass. In the euthyroid population, TSH was positively associated with total cholesterol in overweight population. The association was not modified by the homestasis model assessment for insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)values.(3)TSH was associated positively with serum triglycerides and negatively with serum HDL-C in women. TSH was positively associated with total cholesterol in overweight population and positively associated with total cholesterol and LDL-C in overweight women after adjustment for age, sex, and body mass index. Conclusion Raised serum TSH seems to be a risk factor of dyslipidemia in subclinical hypothyroid and euthyroid subjects, which is independent of insulin sensitivity.

Objective:To observe the curative effect and temperature safety management of ginger mud moxibustion of different thickness on ankylosing spondylitis patients with kidney yang deficiency type, and to explore the best curative effect combination and safety combination of ginger mud thickness in Du Meridian moxibustion.Methods:From March 2020 to March 2021, 90 patients with ankylosing spondylitis of kidney yang deficiency type who were treated with Du moxibustion in the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine were selected. According to the thickness of ginger paste, they were randomly divided into 2 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group, 3 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group and 4 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group when the diameter and height of moxa wool were the same as 2 cm, 30 cases in each group. They were treated with Fu Yang Du moxibustion once a week for 60 minutes each time. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score were used to evaluate the curative effect of spinal function before and after the intervention for 6 weeks. The time when moxibustion temperature reached 43 ℃ and moxibustion temperature maintained at 43-45 ℃ were analyzed for safety evaluation.Results:After moxibustion, VAS scores of 2 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group, 3 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group and 4 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group were 2.89 ± 0.96, 2.01 ± 0.69, 2.93 ± 1.23, BASDAI scores were 3.51 ± 0.94, 2.69 ± 0.68, 3.13 ± 0.96 and BASFI scores were 1.71 ± 0.99, 0.99 ± 0.36, 1.61 ± 0.50, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores were 15.97 ± 4.61, 12.08 ± 3.21, 13.79 ± 3.58. The scores of the three groups were statistically significant ( F values were 6.51-19.22, all P<0.05) . After the intervention, there were significant differences in the scores between 2 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group and 3 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group, 2 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group and 4 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group, 3 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group and 4 cm-thick ginger mud thickness group ( t values were -6.61-4.56, all P<0.05). Conclusions:Du moxibustion is an effective method to treat ankylosing spondylitis of kidney yang deficiency type. The best curative effect and safety combination is moxa velvet diameter height 2 cm, ginger mud thickness 3 cm.

This study investigated the relationship between serum thyrotrophin levels and dyslipidemia in subclinical hypothyroid and euthyroid subjects. A total of 110 subjects with subclinical hypothyroidism and 1,240 euthyroid subjects enrolled in this study. Patients with subclinical hypothyroidism had significantly lower high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels than those who were euthyroid. The lipid profiles were each categorized and mean thyrotrophin levels were higher in subjects in the dyslipidemia subclasses than subjects in the normal subclasses. Thyrotrophin was positively associated with serum triglyceride and negatively associated with serum HDL-C in women. Thyrotrophin was also positively associated with total cholesterol (TC) in the overweight population along with TC and LDL-C in overweight women. In the euthyroid population, thyrotrophin was positively associated with TC in the overweight population. In conclusion, serum thyrotrophin was correlated with dyslipidemia in subclinical hypothyroid and euthyroid subjects; the correlation was independent of insulin sensitivity.

BACKGROUND: To determine the prevalence and prognostic impact of hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). METHODS: Fifty-four patients with unresectable HCC undergoing TACE between December 2014 and December 2015 were prospectively screened for HPS and were followed up for a maximum of 2 years or until the end of this prospective study. RESULTS: Nineteen of the 54 (35.2%) patients were considered to have HPS, including one (5.3%) with severe HPS, nine (47.4%) with moderate HPS, and nine (47.4%) with mild HPS. The median overall survival (OS) was 10.1 (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.9-16.3) months for patients with HPS and 15.1 (95% CI, 7.3-22.9) months for patients without HPS, which is not a significant difference ( P  = 0.100). The median progression-free survival was also not significantly different between patients with and without HPS (5.2 [95% CI, 0-12.8] vs. 8.4 [95% CI, 3.6-13.1] months; P  = 0.537). In the multivariable Cox regression analyses, carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.033 [95% CI, 1.003-1.064]; P  = 0.028) and Child-Pugh class (HR = 1.815 [95% CI, 1.011-3.260]; P  = 0.046) were identified to be the independent prognostic factors of OS. CONCLUSION Mild or moderate HPS is common in patients with unresectable HCC undergoing TACE, but it does not seem to have a significant prognostic impact.
