The technique of minimally invasive embedding simplifies the clinical manipulation of embeddingtherapy and relieves painful patients. The safety of minimally invasive embedding is analyzed in terms of manipula-tion apparatuses, embedding materials, operating techniques and possible adverse reactions, etc. It is expected thatthe evidence of popularizing minimally invasive embedding should be provided.

Objective: To explore the exact role of ghrelin in glyco-and lipo-metabolism.Methods: We compared the levels of ghrelin mRNA in gastric tissue,ghrelin in gastric tissue and plasma among LETO rats(non diabetes,n=10),OLETF rats(type 2 diabetes,n=10),OLETF/M rats(OLETF rats managed with Metformin at the dose of 100 mg/kg weight,n=10) and OLETF/F rats(OLETF rats managed with Fenofibrate at the dose of 20 mg/kg weight,n=10).The levels of ghrelin mRNA were tested by Northern blotting,and the ghrelin content in gastric tissue and plasma detected by RIA.Results: At the age of 30 weeks,the ghrelin fasting plasma levels of OLETF rats were lower than those of LETO rats(37.49?6.42 vs 58.52?5.85,P0.05).However,the fasting blood plasma ghrelin levels of OLETF/F group were more than those that of the untreated OLETF rats(62.02?7.35 vs 37.49?6.42,P

Objective:To study the relationship between sleep quality and psychosocial factors in prison police officers.Methods:Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ),Life Event Scale(LES) and Coping Style Questionnaire(CSQ) were used to evaluate the sleep status and psychosocial factors of 2093 prison police officers of Guangdong Province Prison Administration Bureau.Results:Their average score of PSQI was 7.10?3.68.40.71% of them had sleep problems.The scores of PSQI were correlated positively with the scores of N,negative life events,self-blame and rationalization,and negatively with working out a solution.Conclusion:The sleep quality problem of the prison police officers is serious.Their sleep disorder is obviously related to their mood stability,enduring negativity life events and coping style.

Objective To observe the effect of long snake moxibustion on adjuvant arthritis rats, and explore its mechanism in treating rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Forty-eight Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, drug group and moxibustion group, 12 rats in each group. The model of adjuvant arthritis rats was induced by intracutaneously injection of complete Freud's adjuvant in the right hind foot pat of rat. Three days later, the medcine group was given Wangbi Keli, and the moxibustion group was treated with long snake moxibustion. The changes of toe swelling was observed, and the content of IL-1, TNF-a and IL-10 in serum were detected by radioimmunoassay (RIA). Objective:To explore the possible molecular mechanism of abnormal renal lipid metabolism in OLETF rats, and the effects of fenofibrate or metformin on renal local lipid metabolism. Methods: OLETF rats were randomly divided into three groups:one treated with fenofibrate, one with metformin and one without treatment. LETO rats were used as age-matched normal controls. The animals were sacrificed and the kidneys were obtained respectively at the age of 17 and 30 weeks. 24-hour urine albumin contents and TG contents in renal cortex were measured. The levels of SREBP-1 protein and mRNA in kidney were measured. FAS mRNA and ACC mRNA expressions were measured with RT-PCR. Results:OLETF rats showed characters of obesity, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia. At the end of thirty weeks clinical characters of renal damage appeared in OLETF rats, OLETF rats showed higher levels of 24-hour urine albumin contents than those of LETO rats. 24-hour urine albumin contents were correlated positively with TG contents in kidney. Objective To analyze the correlation of cerebral perfusion characteristics and cognitive function on patients with unipolar and bipolar depression. Methods The r-CBF imaging was detected by SPECT forall subjects. Evaluated cognitive function of subjects using WAIS-CR and WMA, and analysed data using SPSS.Results Data showed that some regions in the brain, e.g. temporal lobe, frontal lobe, hippocampus, and basal ganglia, had significant alterations of r-CBF in depressed patients as compared with healthy controls (P ＜ 0. 05 ).Compared with UPD, BPD showed increased perfusion in basal ganglia ( 0,22.73%; 4.54%, 36. 36% ) (P ＜0.05 ). Furthermore there was no significant different incognitive deficits between UPD and BPD(P ＞ 0. 05 ) , and correlations between cognitive impairment and hypoperfusion of rCBF (P ＜ 0. 05 ). Conclusion There be exist difference in r-CBF between UPD and BPD. The perfusion of r-CBF in BPD is significantly increased than that in UPD,and it suggest that hyperperfusion in basal ganglia may be the biological basis when bipolar depression turning to manic.

Objective To investigate the effect of PGC-1 on hepatic glucose metabolism of type 2 diabetes by observing its changes in the liver of OLETF rats. Methods OLETF rats were observed,even-aged LETO rats were controled. Oral glucose tolerance test, Fasting Insulin, triglyceride and total cholesterol were measured and then the protein level of PGC-1 , phosphoenolpyruvate earboxykinase and uncoupling protein 2 of liver tissue were detected by Western blot respectively in 8,18 and 28 weeks. Results (1)OLETF rats had significantly higher levels than LETO rats, in body weight, OGTT2h blood glucose and TG at 18th, 28th week. The levels of Fasting Insulin of OLETF rats were higher while insulin sensitive index were lower than that of LETO rats at 28th week. (2)Protein expressions in the livers: PGC-1 of OLETF rats was lower than that of LETO rats at 18th and 28th week. PEPCK of OLETF rats was more while UCP2 was lower than that of LETO rats at 28th week. Conclusions OLETF rats showed pathological phenotypes of type 2 diabetes. The changes of PGC-1 , PEPCK and UCP2 in 28-weeks OLETF rat suggested that PGC-1 plays an important role in the liver glycometabolism in type 2 diabetes.

Summary: The interaction of high-fat diet and the peptide YY (PYY) gene expression in diet-induced obesity and the mechanisms which predisposed some individuals to become obese on high-fat diet were explored. Thirty-six male SD rats were randomly divided into high-fat diet group (n=27) and chow fed control group (n=9). After 15 weeks of either a high-fat diet or chew fed diet, the high-fat diet group was subdivided into dietary induced obesity (DIO) and dietary induced obesity resistant (DIR) group according to the final body weight. Then the DIO rats were subdivided into two groups for a 8-week secondary dietary intervention. One of the group was switched to chew fed diet, whereas the other DIO and DIR rats continued on the initial high-fat diet. Weight gain and food intake were measured, food efficiency was calculated, and the concentrations of plasma neuropeptide Y (NPY) and PYY were assayed. Hypothalamic NPY mRNA expression and PYY mRNA expression in ileum and colon was detected by RT-PCR. The results showed that at the end of 15th week, the levels of body weight and caloric intake were significantly higher in DIO group than in DIR or control group (P<0.01), while no significant difference was found between DIR and control group (P>0.05). The concentration of plasma PYY was significantly higher in DIR group than in DIO and CF group, while no significant difference was found between DIO and CF group (P<0.01). After switching the DIO rats to chow fed diet, their body weight gains were significantly lower than that of the DIO-HF group. The expression of PYY mRNA was increased in DIO-HF/CF rats than in DIO-HF rats, and the expression of hypothalamic NPY mRNA was decreased in DIO-HF/CF rats than in DIO-HF group. It was concluded that both dietary composition and PYY gene expression could potently alter the hypothalamic NPY expression and result in different susceptibility to obese and overeating. The decreased PYY was associated with the increased NPY expression and their predisposal to obese and overeating in rats.
