1.Study on the hemodynamometry in 2 positions to predict the development of hypertensive disorder in pregnancy
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):31-36
Fifty three of normogravid - normotensive women who subsequently developed pregnancy - included hypertension demonstrated an increase in diastolic blood pressure at least 20 mmHg when turned from the lateral recumbent to the supine position, between twenty eight and thirty six weeks of gestation. Conversely 95.8% percent of women who did not demonstrate such a rise in diastolic blood pressure when turned to supine position did not become hypertensive during that pregnancy. The results demonstrated the high validity of this method as follow: the sensivity of predictive value: 65%. The specificity of predictive value: 93%, the positive predictive value: 53%, the negative predictive value: 96%.

Antibiotic use must carefully and must exactly consider according to indication and combined exactly method and disease. To against antibiotic resistance, urgent methods is needed such as drugs used exactly disease, sufficient dose and enough time. For physicians, should careful if prescribe antibiotic, don't use new drug if older drug still effective, review antibiotic resistance to choose exactly, preservation obey exact standards, limited using antibiotic for cattle and poultry

4.Review of 20 years of surgical treatment of deformity of foot cervix and club foot combining with orthopadic equipment and external fixation.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):20-22
Center for the trauma and orthopady treated 200 cases of foot deformity in which 1,500 cases received operations. Most of them were congenital club foot (70%) followed by club food due to the polio fever(20%) due to the brain paralysis (5%) and due to arthrogrip ossis (5%). The orthopadic equipments were applied for 35 cases. The equipment was used within 5 weeks and continuously fixed by gypsum up to 3 months from the day of operation.

5.Introduction of urodynamic studies
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2003;7(2):68-74
To survey the basic measurements of urodynamic as cystometry, uroflowmetry, electromyography, urethral profilometry. Currently, it may be to combine measurements each other or urodynamic with image diagnostic technique in order to have comprehensive consideration, more accurate on lower urinary tract function: To combine with cystometry, uroflowmetry and electromyography, detrusor pressure measurement, to combine with cystometry and observe reflection of light of cystoids under fluorescent screen, video-urodynamics

6.Varicocele - Updated knowledge on diagnosis and treatment
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2003;7(4):195-200
Varicocele is a dilatation of plexus venosus in the spermatic cord. It rarely occurs before the age of puberty, but 15% of male teenager experienced varicocele (the rate is relatively high). This rate is higher when surveying data of male infertility (35% of primary infertility patients, and 75-81% of secondary infertility patients had experienced varicocele). Varicocele may affect both sides, but 90% of cases occurred in 1 side and among them 90% were in the left side. Microsurgery is a treatment with high rate of success

7.Identification of eggs of Fasciola sp Collected from a Vietnamese woman using the molecular techniques
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(4):72-79
Fasciola eggs were collected from stool of a woman aged 21 years old in Nghe An province. Miracidium were obtained from these eggs after 20 days culture in the laboratory. A portion of the mitochondrial-encoded nad1 gene from these miracidiums were amplified using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and comparatively aligned with the known corresponding sequences of Fasciola gigantica taken from cattle in Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Ninh Binh and international strains (from Korea, Japan and Indonesia). The results showed high similar co-efficient of nucleotide 98-99% and amino acid 95-99%, but lower rate than that of Fasciola hepatica (Australian and American) (90-92%). However, it is suggested that the Vietnamese F.gigantica have had the genetic signs hybridized with F.hepatica

8.Evaluating the effects of chloasma treated by Hydroquinon combined retinoic acid.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;474(3):39-40
30 patients with melasma (diagnosed according to Zaumseil, Klaus-Graupe) was treated by applying 2% hydroquinone in combing with 0.05% retinoic. After 6 month treatment, the disease recessed well and very well in 65.6%, the size of pigmented area reduced 87% in average, 15.6% of patients has reduced in 90-100% of size and 65.7% of 70-89%.

9.The model of promotion of using services on maternal care and family planning in Nam Dong district, Thua Thien-Hue province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;517(8):70-74
Introduction: This action research aimed to make a context-specific and gender-sensitive interventions. Intervention activities was participatory to decrease the barriers to the use of maternal care and family planning (MCFP) services by the disadvantaged Kinh people and Catu ethnic minority people in the mountainous area of Nam Dong District in Central Vietnam. Intervention also aimed to improve communal MCFP services prioritized to training effective communication skills for communal health centers' staff and village health workers. Methods: 2 surveys were conducted before and after intervention among 7 poor communes using a random sample of total 840 mothers with at least one child under the age of 5 years. These data were supplemented by interviews with key informants, focus group discussions and observations. Statistical tests and measurement of effective index (EI) were used in data analysis. Results: - Women having ANC and delivery at local MCFP service were increasing 97.6% and 50% in year 2005 as compared with 86.9% and 31% respectively in year 2003. Midwives paid much attention to non-verbal communication as well as to counseling using demonstrative pictures. - There were a clear evidence of significantly increasing the mother's knowledge of MCFP such as local MCFP service availability, benefit of ANC (p<0.001) supported by performing many different communication channels (safe motherhood talks, village safe motherhood clubs, mass media of video-cassette using Catu speaking language, safe motherhood integration in traditional festival, campaign etc. - There was only statistically significant increase of inject able contraceptive ( EI=58.14%). The number of mothers having ANC>=3 times was significantly increasing (EI=11.98%, p<0.01). - The percentage of mothers who delivered at home was slow down to 19.4% as compared with before intervention was 45.2% respectively (EI= 64.20%, p<0.001) Conclusion: Intervention model was considerably successful in using context-specific and gender sensitive approaches. It contributed to meeting an urgent need for the MCFP services to build both clinical capacity and health promotion activities in a way that is gender sensitive, knowledge on of traditional practices and accessible by both illiterate and minority language speaking people.
