1.The estimation of blood quality between two groups volunteer and regular donors
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):14-17
The volunteers have higher quality of hemoglobin than the regular donors. Hb standard for donation is 120 g/l. The volunteers have 94.9% reaching the standard but 5.1% of the regular donors. The volunteers have higher incidence of infectous diseases than the regular donors except the syphilis. It is important to do the P24-HIV to reduce the window period. The volunteers are the good donation, the humanitarian donors.

2.The experiment of blood mobile organization
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):51-54
On the 3712 volunnteer blood donors, the incidence of shock and dizzy are 2.1% in which, shock is 0.2, dizzy is 1.9%. These events can be appearing after the time of venous puncture. Most of the events are seen in female. There is only one case that received the solution transfusion the rest of these cases only need the sugar drinking. The volunteer blood donation is humanities. The experiment of blood mobile organization is a good experiment for the “blood donation” program.

3.Effects of “Tu than” pill in treatment of patients with fluid colonal functional disorder
Journal of Practical Medicine 2000;383(6):45-47
48 patients with the fluid colonal functional disorder used “Tu than” pill at dose of 10g/day x2 times/day after a meal within 30 days. The results have showed that after 30 days of the treatment, the symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, cold anxiety were improved. The drug was well tolerated, easy to use and had a little side effects.

4.Some clinical and cytologic features of erythrocyte in peripheral blood and marrow of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome type persistent anemia
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;267(12):42-46
A total of 30 myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) patients was analyzed to determine the clinical aspects and erythroid morphology in peripheral blood and bone marrow. The results are summarized as follows: 63.3% of patients was (50 years old. Male/Female ratio: 0.8. 46.7% were with lonely anemia and the rest were anemia combined with hemorrhages, infections, hepatosplenomegaly and lymphadenopathy. In peripheral blood: 63.4% of patients was with Hb<60g/l. 50% had normocrom - normocytic erythrocyte 96.7% of patients had dysmorphologic erythrocyte. In bone marrow: 46.6% were with hyperplasia of erythroid lineage, 33.6% were with hypoplasia of erythroid lineage, the rest (20%) were with normoplasia of erythroid lineage, 63.4% had dysmorphologic erythroblast, in which 36.7% was with ringed syderoblast

5.Primarily evaluation of values of tumor markers in the diagnosis of digestive and prostatic cancer
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):22-24
Generality - Material - Method: The IMX PSA, CA 19-9, CEA are Microparticle Enzyme Immune Assay (MEIA) for the quantitative measurement of tumor marker in human serum. Results: number of health subjects 30 (20 men, 10 women), number of patients 56 (42 men, 14 women). The results of studies indicated that the PSA assay value is frequently elevated > 10ng/ml in the serum of subjects with prostatic cancer, the sensitivity 70.6%. CA 19-9 assay value is elevated > 37 U/ml in the serum of pancreatic cancer subjects, the sensitivity (83.4%). CEA assay value is elevated > 10 ng/ml in the serum of colorectal carcinoma, the sensitivity (54.5%).

6.Relation of HIV, HCV and HBsAg between patients and blood donors
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;430(9):58-60
In 1997, the Blood Bank in ViÖt §øc hospital discovered 14 cases of HIV1 positive: 1 case was not enough serum to make further test, 1 was regular donor with HIV positive, Anti HCV negative, HBsAg negative. The incidence of Anti HCV (Hepatitis C) was 12/13 positive (92.3%). The incidence of heroin users was 12/13 (92.3%). The incidence of HBsAg (Hepatitis B) was: 1/13 positive (7.8%).

Journal of Practical Medicine 2000;380(5):70-73
Among 4497 patients with injuries admitted to Viet Duc hospital, the rate of HIV infectious was 2.4%, especially in ages of 20-29. The rate of injured patients with HIV infection came from Ha Noi was 46.9%, Quang Ninh 11.6%, Lang Sn 6.8%, Hung Yen 6.8%, Nam §inh 4.1%, Hai Dng 3.4%, Phu Tho 2.7%, Thai Nguyªn 2%, Thai Binh 2%, Hai Phong 2%, Thanh Hoa 1.4%, Bac Ninh 1.4%, Haa Nam 1.4%, Bac Giang and Son La 0.7%.

8.Some remarks on the risks of HIV infection in the community
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2000;(4):29-32
2,690 healthy students and inhabitants in or out of Hanoi City were submitted to HIV screening test. Result shows an HIV incidence of 0.26% and the average age of patients is concentrated between 20-24 years old. The incidence of HIV inhabitants in or out of Hanoi City is higher than that of the students. It is important to have further research of HIV in the community to help the program of humanitarian blood donation

9.Use of for formula shine and Lal for screening the thalassemia.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):23-27
Shine and Lal’s discrimination functions MCV2 x MCH x 0.01 was tested for its utility in diagnosing thalassemia trait. A2 and F determination on all samples with MCV2x MCHx0.01<1530. A value of more than 1530 rules out beta thalassemia trait. Ferritin quantitation were done on all samples to detect iron deficiency anemia. We have collected 103 samples with MCV2x MCHx0.01<1530. In this study, this method detected 91 cases as beta thalassemia trait (95%), 8 cases as HbE heterozygote, 1 case as iron deficiency anemia and 3 cases as normal.

10.Preliminary study on the plasmids containing genes to encode antibiotic resistance of Shigella Flexneri strains isolated in Vietnam
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;0(12):72-74
Recently, treatment for bacillary dysentery have meet many difficulty due to Shigella which antibiotic resistance. Most of Shigella strains also resistant to many antibiotics at the same time (multi-antibiotics). The aim of the research is finding out genes that are encoded antibiotic resistance, features about structure, activity mechanism as well as transmitable of the genes in community. Material and method: researched strains: 100 S.flexneri strains, standard strain: E.coli K12-J5-3. Tecnology: diffused paper slice. The result chosen Sflexneri strains that resistant multi-antibiotic from 237 primary strains. Among them, 100 strains have major resistant type is resistant to 5 kinds of antibiotic. The strains are chosen to receive to E.coli K12J5-3. The percentage of receipt are 56%. Most of receive type don’t get enough resistance to the 5 antibiotics.
