Superior petrosal sinus (SPS) dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) is one of tentorial DAVFs with significant morbidity, which usually drains into the petrosal vein and its tributaries. Unless there is a connection with venous sinus, surgical obliteration is required. We present two cases of SPS DAVF which were successfully treated with the presigmoid retrolabyrinthine approach.

3.Some observations on clinical and paraclinical characteristics of malformation of cerebral vessel in children
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):46-47
In Bach Mai Hospital from May 1998 to June 2002, 23 children aged 10-15 (15 girls and 8 boys) with malformation of brain vessel were diagnosed definitely. Most of under 11-year-old children have swelling vessel, 30.4% of above 11-year-old children have AVM malformation - 52.1%. The main manifestations of brain vessel malformation are hemorrhage of brain lobe 65.2%, subarachroid hemorrhage 39.1%, brain ischemia 30.4%, epilepxy or epileptic conditions 21.7%, head pain of migraine type 17.4%. Unilateral palsy of III nerve is specific sign for diagnosis of swelling of prosterior communicating artery with a rate of 8.7%. Dysphasia is temporary, while the visual dysfunction is more persistent

4.Study on situation of congenital malformation of newborns at Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, Bach mai Hospital from 1/1/1999 to 30/9/2003 and some related factors
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;505(3):12-15
There were 173 cases of congenital malformations of newborn who were born at Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, Bach Mai Hospital from 1/1/1999 to 30/9/2003. Rate of congenital malformations was 1.31%. Rate of hydrocephaly is 0.13%, anencephaly was 0.08%, omphalocele and diapharagmatic hernia and abdominal cleft was 0.08%. Rate of congenital malformation in boys was higher than that in girls ( sex ratio=1.25). Some of factors such as parent occupation and age related to higher rate of having child with malformation. High-risk factors related to the congenital malformations of newborn were discussed.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2012;52(5):480-483
The authors present a case of isolated dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) in the transverse sinus, which developed six years after microvascular decompression caused by hemifacial spasm via suboccipital craniectomy. The lesion was successfully treated by transarterial embolization using Onyx. We reviewed the related radiologic and therapeutic features of DAVF involving an isolated sinus and described the feasibility of the use of Onyx.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1994;23(3):331-335
A case of extradural cavernous hemangioma on lumbar spine combined with ruptured disc is reported. Cavernous hemangiomas are uncommon vascular malformation of the central nervous system. In the spine, the majority of these lesions are from secondary extensions of vertebral hemangiomas. Occurrence of a primary extradural cavernous hemangioma is relatively rare. Authors report a case of extradural cavernous hemangioma of the spine with the review of literatures.
