Introduction. The survey was conducted to establish the midterm evaluation of the National Program on NCD Prevention and Control, and to establish baseline data for a health project funded by the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA).Goal The goal of the survey was to determine the prevalence alcohol consumption pattern among Mongolian adults using WHO-approved methods, and to inform on NCD and injury control activities. Objectives:To compare the current prevalence of alcohol consumption to that identified in the previous STEPS survey. Alcohol consumption patterns, frequency of drinking and risks associated with alcohol consumption will be studied according to gender, age and place of residence of the survey respondents.Materials and MethodsThe cross-sectional survey used WHO STEPS survey methodology adapted to the countries specifics. A total of 5638 randomly selected 15-64 year-old Mongolian residents of both sexes from 36 soums of 20 aimags and 6 districts of Ulaanbaatar city participated in the survey. The survey data was fully collected using small handheld computers (PDAs). Because the data was comprised of only a sample of the large population, it was necessary to weight the data, Thus sample weighting and adjustments to correct the differences in the age-sex distribution of the sample compared to the largest population were performed. Data analysis was conducted using EPI INFO version 3.5.1 using appropriate methods for the complex sample design of the survey. Outcome measures (prevalence and mean variance) and differences between groups (age, gender and urban\ rural groups) were calculated with 95% confidence intervals (95%).Results:34.2% of Mongolian adults did not use alcohol in their life-time and 65.8% of them used alcohol to some extent. The prevalence of binge drinking was 39.7% in men and 15.1% in women, and binge drinking was 2.5 times more common in males compared to females.

Since 1994 when Directly Observed Therapy Short Course (DOTS) was first introduced in TB control in Mongolia, the National TB Programme has made significant progress in detecting and curing TB. In 2007, we were able to detect 81% of all TB cases and cure 88%. However, we face many obstacles and challenges in dealing with drug-resistant tuberculosis including limited access to multi-drug resistant TB treatment, limited supply of second-line drugs, limited capacity of service providers, poor infection control in health facilities dealing with MDR-TB patients, limited financial resources. Since 2006 Mongolia has started to implement project on multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB) management through support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In total, 888 cases of drug-resistant TB were detected in our country. Among them, 66.3% (589) were diagnosed with MDR-TB. Among 589 MDR-TB cases diagnosed between 2003-2009, 45.3% (267) are enrolled in treatment, 26.7% (157) died before enrollment into treatment, 19.7% (116) are on waiting list. If we do not improve supply of second-line drugs we will continue to face obstacles in provision of medical services to MDR-TB patients. Our data shows that although MDR-TB cases were diagnosed in 2006, the number of patients who would not be able to receive the treatment and would die by 2015 would increase up to 510 persons. In other words, although about 70 patients are diagnosed every year, they would not be able to receive treatment. Mobilization of 350 thousand US dollars every year and advocacy among decision makers in order to improve their commitment will contribute to fight against MDR-TB in our country.

BACKGROUND. Uterine cervical cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths
in women worldwide. In our country, cervical cancer is second most common cancer
in women. Uterine cervical smear (Papanicolaou test) remains an effective and widely
used method for early detection of precancerous and cancerous lesions. Since 2002,
the cervical smear was introduced to the clinical practice of our country. However,
there is no study to performed external quality assurance of cervical smear until now.
MATERIALS AND METHODS. We selected 20 glass slides of uterine cervical smear, the
diagnosis was approved by histopathology. Each chosen slides were evaluated by four
cytologists of A, B, C, D hospitals with hidden clinical information, independently.
RESULTS. The sensitivity of A, B, C and D hospitals were 87.5%, 93.3%, 93.3%, and 93.3%,
respectively. The specificity of A, B, C and D hospitals was 85.7%, 85.7%, 75%, and 66.6%,
respectively. The diagnostic concordance of A, B, C and D was 70%, 75%, 50%, and 55%,
respectively. The agreement of cytological diagnosis was moderate (kappa = 0.55),
moderate (kappa = 0.43), fair (kappa = 0.37), and fair (kappa = 0.33) in A, B, C, and D
hospitals, respectively. CONCLUSION: The external quality assurance in cytopathology
is needed in Mongolia. The diagnostic concordance method would be applicable in
our country to improve diagnostic agreement.

Introduction:
Among the endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic disease and thyroid disorders occupy a significant place. According to the World Health Organization, 8-18% of the world’s population suffer from thyroid disorders. In our country, no research on the prevalence of the disorders has been conducted before, and this research methodology was discussed by the Scientific committee of the National Center for Public Health and was approved by resolution No.156 of the Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Health on 2020.
Materials and Methods:
In order to determine the prevalence
of thyroid disease in the country, we collected the actual number of thyroid disorders registered in 9 districts of the capital city and 330 soums of 21 aimags for a total of 10 years from 2011 to 2020. The prevalence of thyroid disorders was mapped using Arc view and GIS software.
Results
Endocrine, nutritional and metabolic disease account for 2.3% of all outpatient cases. Endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic disease accounted for an average of 168.3 per 10000 population over the past 10 years, and thyroid disorders accounted for 45 or 26.7% of endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases. Thyroid disorders are highest in people aged 40-49 years.
Thyroid toxicity is the most common type of thyroid disease in Mongolia, accounting for 56.2%, with an average of 17.2 per 10000 population in 2011-2020. However, iodine deficiency-related thyroid disease accounts for 5.5% of all thyroid disorders, with an average of 2.5 per 10000 population in 2011-2020. In 2011, it decreased by 2.2 per 10000 population, and by 2020, it decreased by 0.2 per thousand to 2.0, but in the last 5 years, it has increased by an average of 2.4 per 10,000 population, and in the last 5 years it has increased by 0.2 per thousand, or 2.6 per 10,000 population. Morbidity is high in the Khangai and Central regions.

Introduction
In 1987 Jerome Ritchie, David Auth and colleagues first introduced rotational atherectomy (rotablation)
as a technique for the endovascular treatment of obstructive atherosclerotic disease. Rotational
atherectomy covers 3-5% of all procedures in big PCI centers, while <1% in smaller centers. By
study of Warth DC et al. in 1994, at early period when it was first introduced, procedure complication
of rotablation was about 40%, those with coronary dissection 29%, coronary artery occlusion 11.2%,
side branch occlusion 1.8%, distal occlusion 0.9%, no relow phenomenon 6.1%, severe vasospasm
13.8% and vascular perforation 1-2%.
By advanced techniques and technologies that kind of complications reduced significantly, it occurs
as same as other PCI procedures.
In our country PCI procedure was first introduced in Third State Central Hospital in 2000, since then
20 years has passed. During this period coronary intravascular diagnosis and treatment developed
progressively performing 14751 PTCA procedures, of those 8355(56,6%) PCI cases. By statistics
of 2017, myocardial infarction occurred 1145.6 in 10000 population, showing sharp increase, and
cardiovascular mortality became number one cause and has tendency to increase further.
To inform first outcome of rotational atherectomy of atherosclerosis that is severely calcified and
unavailable to introduce balloon catheter or stent. To conduct atherectomy treatment methods,
accustoming professionals, order and get ready the treatment materials for necessity.
We successfully performed rotablation in severely calcified mLAD of 56 years of male patient by
staged PCI, whose infarct related artery Lcx was revascularized 3 months previously. As a result the
patient was fully revascularized, the balloon catheter passed through the narrowing and stent was
implanted successfully.
