Objective? To investigate the therapeutic hypothermia related knowledge and training demands of neurosurgery nurses at a hospital. Methods? From January to April 2018, we selected 139 neurosurgery nurses at a ClassⅢ Grade A hospital by cluster sampling. All of the nurses were investigated with the self-designed therapeutic hypothermia knowledge questionnaire and therapeutic hypothermia knowledge demands questionnaire of nurses. Results? A total of 59.7% of nurses mastered therapeutic hypothermia related knowledge and 11.5% of them mastered the knowledge well. Three terms of therapeutic hypothermia related knowledge were with the highest accuracy rate including the necessity of calm assessment, need of sedation and analgesia as well as mechanical ventilation support at low temperature. Three terms of them were with the lowest accuracy rate including the duration of the cooling, duration of holding phase and recommended temperature of therapeutic hypothermia monitoring. Neurosurgery nurses were willing to learn therapeutic hypothermia related knowledge by various ways. Conclusions? Neurosurgery nurses' mastery of therapeutic hypothermia knowledge needs to be improved. Mastery of knowledge and demands should be taken into account in contents and ways of inservice training.

Objective? To explore the effects of ICU head nurse's leadership style on nurse's professional identity. Methods Totally 112 nurses from 9 ICUs of a ClassⅢ Grade A hospital in Beijing were selected using convenient sampling in September 2018 and investigated with Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and Professional Identity Scale (PIS). Multivariate multilayer regression analysis was used to analyze the effects of ICU head nurse's leadership style on nurse's professional identity. Results? Head nurse's transformational leadership perceived by the nurses scored (2.69±0.37); the transactional leadership scored (0.62±0.61); and the nurses' professional identity scored (116.63±22.76). Head nurse's transformational leadership was positively correlated with the nurses' professional identity (r=0.376,P<0.01), but there was no correlation between the transactional leadership and the nurses' professional identity (P>0.05). Multilayer regression analysis revealed that the transformational leadership is an influencing factor to the nurses' professional identity. Conclusions? Head nurse's leadership style has significant impacts on nurse's professional identity, and the transformational leadership has positive effects on nurse's professional identity. Hospital managers should pay attention to cultivating the transformational leadership of clinical nursing managers, thus improving nurse's professional identity.

Objective:To understand the status quo of job burnout and sleep quality among neurosurgery nurses in a ClassⅢ Grade A hospital in Beijing and analyze their correlations to provide basis for formulating relevant intervention measures. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 150 nurses from Department of Neurosurgery of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University from March to April 2020 were selected as the research objects. The survey was carried out using the general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI) scale. Pearson correlation analysis method was used to analyze the effect of job burnout of nurses in department of neurosurgery on sleep quality. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed in this study and 149 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 99.3%.Results:The emotional exhaustion dimension score of the job burnout scale for neurosurgical nurses was (22.79±7.08) , indicating moderate burnout. The score of depersonalization dimension was (8.17±3.63) , indicating moderate burnout. The score of low personal achievement was (19.09±6.04) , indicating high burnout. The total PSQI score of neurosurgical nurses was 8.0 (4.5, 12.0) and 83 nurses (55.7%, 83/149) had poor sleep quality. Emotional exhaustion in job burnout of neurosurgery nurses was positively correlated with PSQI total score ( r=0.356, P<0.01) , and depersonalization dimension was positively correlated with PSQI total score ( r=0.180, P<0.05) , while low personal achievement dimension was negatively correlated with PSQI total score ( r=-0.120, P<0.05) . The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that PSQI total score and working years were the influencing factors of emotional exhaustion dimension ( P<0.05) , while PSQI total score and weekly overtime time were the influencing factors of depersonalization dimension ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The degree of job burnout of neurosurgical nurses is in the middle and high level and different degrees of sleep problems are common. The higher the degree of burnout, the worse the quality of sleep.
