1.Clinical Observation on Treatment of Women Climacteric Insomnia by Plum-Blossom Needle: A Report of 50 Cases
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2004;2(4):35-36
To observe the treatment of 50 female patients with climacteric insomnia by plum-blossom needle therapy. According to differentiation of symptoms and signs the head, back, belly and other location were tapping. Besides 50 patients were treated with Western medicine as a control group. The result showed the immediate and long-term effect in plum-blossom needle group was better than that in control group (P<0.01).

Objective:To study the differences of intestinal flora between neonatal rats with intrauterine hypoxia and healthy neonatal rats using high-throughput sequencing technology to determine the effects of intrauterine hypoxia on neonatal intestinal flora. Methods:Intrauterine hypoxia model were established in neonatal rats. On d1 and d7 after birth, intestinal samples were collected from intrauterine hypoxic group and normal control group and assigned into INH1 group (intrauterine hypoxia d1), INH7 group (intrauterine hypoxia d7), NOR1 group (normal control d1) and NOR7 group (normal control d7). 16S rRNA sequencing were conducted using these samples and the differences in the diversity, richness and composition of the flora among the groups were compared.Results:(1) The Alpha diversity of the intestinal flora in the INH1 group was higher than the NOR1 group. Specifically, both sobs and chao indices, representing the richness of the flora, in INH1 group were significantly higher than the NOR1 group (sobs index: 114.5±35.6 vs. 50.5±21.3, chao index: 135.6±38.5 vs. 73.9±28.8)( P<0.05). Compared with the NOR7 group, the mean values of sobs, ace, chao, simpson and shannon indices in the INH7 group showed no significant differences ( P>0.05). (2) At the phylum and genus level, the dominant bacterial groups in the intrauterine hypoxia group on d1 were firmicutes and streptococcus and proteus and escherichia for the normal control group. The difference of intestinal flora between intrauterine hypoxia group and the normal control group on d7 was smaller than the difference between the two groups on d1. Compared with INH1 group, the INH7 group had increased escherichia composition and decreased streptococcus composition. Conclusions:Intrauterine hypoxia changes the initial colonization and later affects the abundance and structural composition of the intestinal flora in newborn rats.

【Objective】 Corin, a transmembrane serine protease that can cleave atrial natriuretic peptide precursor (pro-ANP) into atrial natriuretic peptide with smaller bioactive molecules, participates in the pathophysiological process of hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship of Corin gene variation with blood pressure responses to sodium and potassium dietary interventions. 【Methods】 In 2004, we recruited 514 participants from 124 families in 7 villages of Baoji, Shaanxi Province, China. All the subjects received a 3-day normal diet, a 7-day low-salt diet, a 7-day high-salt diet, and finally a 7-day high-salt and potassium supplementation. Fifteen single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Corin gene were selected for final analysis. 【Results】 SNPs rs12509275 were significantly associated with diastolic blood pressure (DBP) response to low-salt diet, while rs3749584 was associated with pulse pressure (PP) response to low-salt diet.SNP rs3749584 and rs10517195 were significantly associated with PP response to high-salt diet. In addition,rs17654278 were significantly associated with systolic blood pressure (SBP) response to high-salt and potassium supplementation, rs2271037 was significantly correlated with DBP responses to high-salt and potassium supplementation, and rs4695253, rs12509275, rs2351783, rs36090894 were significantly associated with PP response to high-salt and potassium supplementation. 【Conclusion】 Corin gene polymorphisms were associated with blood pressure response to sodium and potassium, suggesting that Corin gene may be involved in pathophysiological process of salt sensitivity and potassium sensitivity.
