Journal of Chinese Physician 2011;13(7):938-940
Objective To find out the relationship between fetal growth restriction (FGR) and transforming growth factor -β1 (TGF-β1). Methods The levels of TGF-β1 in maternal serum and placental tissue of FGR were detected with using ELISA and immunohistochemistry technique, and it was compared with those of normal term pregnancy. Results The levels of TGF-β1 in maternal serum of FGR group were significantly higher than those of normal term pregnancy (76. 5 ± 33. 4 VS 47.6 ± 24. 2, t' = 4. 65, P <0. 05). As for the intensity of the immunohistochemistry signal, TGF-β1 in syncytiotrophoblastic cells of FGR was markedly higher than that of control group (81.82% vs 5.83%, P <0. 01). Conclusions The levels of TGF-β1 are closely related with FGR.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To evaluate the quality and the effectiveness of therapeutic studies on chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis published in Chinese journals by means of evidence-based medicine. Methods:Relevant papers were searched in Chinese Biological Medical Disc (CBMDisc)database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) database. Papers using randomized controlled trials (RCT) were identified and analyzed according to the international standards of evidence-based medicine. Results:There were totally 98 articles focusing on therapeutic studies of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis and only 22 of them met RCT criteria. Study design, diagnostic standards, therapeutic effects and adverse effects decribed in those 22 papers were fully evaluated by means of evidence-based medicine. Conclusions:Research quality of the analyzed papers could not meet clinical needs and Meta analysis could not been done due to their low quantity and poor quality. However, as far as the published articles concerned, GM-CSF showed a good short-term treatment effect.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 2004;0(06):-
Objective:To quantitively detect TfR gene expression of human white blood cell before and after iron supplementation. Methods:Before and after iron supplementation,10 healthy women were phlebotomized separately, and the real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR method was used to analyze the expression difference of TfR gene in human white blood cell. Results:TfR gene expression decreased after iron supplementation in 10 women, more evidently in 7 cases, where the expression level was half less than before iron supplementation. Conclusion:TfR gene expression of human white blood cell could be quantitatively measured by FQ-PCR,and was decreased after iron supplementation in 10 women. It explained that the regulative mechanism of TfR mRNA expression by iron is also suitable to white blood cell.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard for Qindan granules. METHODS: The constituents including Radix Scutellariae, Radix Astragali, Cortex Moutan and Fructus Gardeniae in Qindan granules were identified respectively by TLC. RESULTS: The test samples and their respective reference substances were alike in that the same color chromatographic spots were noted at the corresponding places. The color spectra of the samples were clear yet without interference of surrounding impurity. CONCLUSION: The established method has high specificity and can be used for the quality control of Qindan granule.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of trimebutine combined with mosapride on functional dyspepsia. Methods Patients with functional dyspepsia were randomly divided into three clinical groups. Group A (n=116) received 0.2 g trimebutine after meal, group the drug combination B (n=116) received 5 mg mosapride before meal, and the drug combination group (n=115) received 0. 2 g trimebutine after meal plus 5 mg mosapride before meal. All medications were taken orally three times daily for 4 weeks. Improvement in clinical symptoms and adverse reactions in each group were evaluated at the end of study. Results A total of 339 patients among 347 enrollees completed the treatment and follow-up. The clinical efficacy on postprandial fullness, early satiation, epigastric pain, epigastric burning, upper abdominal bloating and nausea were 88. 4%,76. 9%,72. 9%,61. 8%,86. 7% and 81. 7%,respectively in the drug combination group after 4-week treatment, which were superior to those in group A or B (P<0. 05) except for epigastric burning. The total effective rate of the drug combination group was 78. 8%,significantly higher than the other two groups (P<0. 05). The total incidence of side effects in the drug combination group was 1. 8%,similar to that of group A and B (1. 8% and 0. 9%,respectively, P =0. 776). Conclusion Trimebutine combined with mosapride is safe and effective for improving symptoms in functional dyspepsia.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2014;(8):530-533
Lin28 is a highly conserved RNA-binding protein that has an important role in human body development, metabolism, and tumorigenesis. Previous studies have found that the activation of Lin28 can suppress the maturity of let-7 miRNA in stem cells and promote the proliferation of stem cells by upregulating cell-cycle related genes, such as cyclins A and B. Other mechanisms underlying the activation of Lin28 can selectively block the processes of pre-let-7 miRNA in embryonic stem cells and ultimately promote tumori-genesis. In addition, Lin28 affects the occurrence, development, and prognosis of cancer by inhibiting the differentiation and maturation of miRNA and by moderating the expression of some cell-cycle related genes. Lin28 has an important function in the tumor's tolerance of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We review the physiological function of Lin28 in tumors and its function in tumor treatment.

Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery 2012;15(2):157-160
OBJECTIVETo study the clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of primary gastric lymphoma (PGL).
METHODSClinical data of 200 patients with PGL who were treated at the Tianjin Cancer Hospital were retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTSThere were 110 males and 90 females. The age ranged between 19 and 80 (median, 54) years old. Symptoms or laboratory examinations were not specific. Before the treatment, 130 cases were diagnosed correctly, and the remaining 70 were misdiagnosed as gastric cancer (n=59), gastric ulcer (n=5) and chronic gastritis (n=6). Twenty-four cases received chemotherapy alone, 29 cases surgery alone, 132 cases underwent surgery plus chemotherapy, and 15 were not treated. The 200 cases all received follow-up ranging from 1 to 246 months (median, 26 months). The 1, 3, 5, and 10-year survival rates were 65.0%, 57.5%, 56.2%, and 55.0%. Univariate analysis and multivariate analysis showed that emaciation (P<0.01), tumor location (P<0.01), treatment modality (P<0.01), histological type (P<0.05), and tumor staging (P<0.05) were independent factors of survival in patients with PGL.
CONCLUSIONSThe misdiagnosis of PGL is very frequent. The treatment of choice should be comprehensive therapy based on surgery.

Objective To isolate Toxoplasma gondii T. gondii strains from stray cats and explore their prevalence in Xu?zhou City. Methods The sera of 41 stray cats were collected to detect the antibodies of T. gondii by using a commercial enzyme?linked immunosorbent ELISA kit. The tissues including the heart brain and tongue from these cats were digested by acid pep?sin solution and inoculated to Kunming mice. These suspicious isolates were subsequently identified by a specific PCR method. Results A total of 11 strains were isolated from 41 stray cats which were confirmed by the PCR results. Moreover 17 cats 41.5% were found to be positive with the antibodies of T. gondii. Conclusion A high prevalence of T. gondii infection was found in Xuzhou City which indicates that the stray cats infected with T. gondii would be an important infection source that may infect humans and other animals in this area.
