Objective To investigate the mechanism of automatic processing of cartoon facial expressions by using event-related potential(ERP).Methods Sixteen healthy volunteers (7 males and 9 females) were recruited for this study.The subjects were instructed to mentally count green faces (targets) and ignore the red ones (non-targets) including standard neutral expressions and deviant emotional expressions.Thirty two channels electroencephalogram (EEG) was recorded by Neuroscan Nuamps System.The amplitudes of mismatch negativity (MMN) were analyzed.Results (1) MMN1:the amplitudes were(-0.570 ± 0.076) μV (TP7/TP8),(-0.840 ±0.119) μV(A1/A2) ,(-1.199 ±0.105)μV(T5/T6) ,(-1.184 ±0.102)μV(O1/O2).There was a significant main effect of site (F(3,45) = 8.340, P < 0.05 ) and an interaction of orientation × hemisphere (F(1,15) =11.977, P<0.05).( 2 ) MMN2: the amplitudes were (-0.469 ± 0.126 ) μV ( TP7/TP8 ), (-1.014 ± 0.255 ) μV(A1/A2) ,(-1.071 ±0.182)μV(T5/T6), (-0.915 ±0.178)μV (O1/O2).There was a significant main effect of orientation (F(1,15) = 7.232, P < 0.05 ) and interactions of orientation × type (F(1,15) = 6.458, P < 0.05 )and orientation × hemisphere(F(1,15) = 11.907, P<0.05 ).Conclusion Cartoon emotional faces elicit expressionrelated MMN indexing automatic processing.The MMN amplitude is right-lateralized and larger for negative than positive expression.
3.Breeding of Arachidonic Acid Producting Strain with Mortierella Sabellina by Ultraviolet Mutation
Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
In order to gain the strain which has high growth vigor and whose biomass concentration satisfy further fermentation to produce arachidonic acid, we took the yield of microbes olein and arachidonic acid as evaluative index, adopted twice ultraviolet mutation, determined the time of ultraviolet irradiation by single factor expriment, and then the content of the arachidonic acid was measured by GC. The results of this experiment showed that the power of viltalight lamp was 20 W, exposure distance was 30 cm and exposure time was 80 s, lethality of spores of Mortierella isabellina was 76.4%. After twice ultraviolet mutation and repeatedly screen, a mutation of Mortierella isabellina Z80s2-109 whose arachidonic acid concentration in biomass were 3.77 times of the control strains was obtained and genetic stability.

Objective To explore the role of TLR2 and TLR4 in the pathogenesis of Henoch-Schonlein purpura ( HSP) by investigating their expression at mRNA and protein levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells ( PBMCs ) and their influences on Th 1/Th2 immune response in children with HSP . Methods 64 hospitalized children with HSP in the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University Medical Col -lege from October 2011 to November 2012 were enrolled in the study .They were further divided into non-He-noch-Schonlein purpura nephritis ( NHSPN ) group ( n =36 ) and Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis (HSPN) group (n=28).30 age-matched healthy children from Child Health Division of the same hospital were selected as controls .The expression of TLR2 and TLR4 at mRNA level in PBMCs were detected by re-al-time fluorescent polymerase chain reaction .The expression of TLR2 and TLR4 at protein level and T cells subset were detected by flow cytometry .The levels of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-6 in plasma were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results (1)Compared with the control group , the expres-sion of TLR2 and TLR4 at mRNA and protein levels were remarkably increased in children with HSP , espe-cially in HSPN group.(2)Compared with the control group, the percentage of CD3+T cells and CD3+CD4+T cells were down-regulated in HSP group , but the percentage of CD 3+CD8+T cells and CD3+HLADR+T cells were up-regulated.(3)The level of IFN-γand the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 in plasma from children with HSP were significantly lower than those of the controls , while the level of IL-4 and IL-6 were remarkably higher than those of the controls .(4)The expression of TLR2 and TLR4 at protein level in PBMCs from chil-dren with HSP showed significant positive correlations with the expression of TLR 2 and TLR4 at mRNA level and plasma concentration of IL-4 and IL-6, but a negative correlation with the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4.Conclu-sions The aberrant activation of TLR 2 and TLR4 might be correlated with the immunological pathogenesis of HSP by enhancing Th2 immune response. The hyper-activation of TLR2 and TLR4 might result in renal injury in patients with HSP .

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(44):-
Stent-assisted angioplasty of intracranial and extracranial arteries is a complex pathophysiologic process. Therefore, understanding of related factors is significant for guiding clinical treatment and reducing restenosis rate.Intravascular stent as a foreign body leads to platelet activation and aggregation, cytokine secretion, resulting in thrombosis and leukocyte aggregation at vessel injury site to produce cytokine and inflammatory reaction. In addition, the smooth muscle cells migrate to injury site and proliferate, leading to intimal hyperplasia, vessel wall reconstruction and intra-stent restenosis. Moreover, the restenosis following stenting is related to stent type and medicine supportive treatment.Drug-eluted stent with anti-inflammation and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation can reduce body inflammation intensity and duration, and postoperative medicine supportive treatment can reduce incidence of intravascular restenosis.

BACKGROUND: The role of inflammatory reaction and inflammatory factors and the mechanism of pathophysiology of restenosisfollowing the stent implantation remains controversial. OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes of platelet activation markers and correlated factors following carotid artery stenting in rabbits. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Observation experiment was performed at the Institute of Neurobiology of Henan University fromMarch to September 2008. MATERIALS: A total of 26 rabbits, male or female, weighing 2.1-2.9 kg, were included. The alloy stent was made of 90% platinumand 10% iridium with wire diameter of 0.13 mm and monofilament winding spiral structure. The alloy stent was submerged 100 g/Lgelatin solution, and made into protein-coated stent after dried. METHODS: Animals were anesthetized by sodium pentobarbital (30 mg/kg), and the right carotid artery was exposed. The stent was inserted in the proximal end after administration of aspirin and clopidogrel dual antiplatelet therapy. Penicillin was intravenously injected, 800 000 IU per day. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The platelet-activating factor (PAC-1 and CD62P) of peripheral blood, platelet-monocyte aggregates and interleukin (IL-6) immediately before and 0.5 hour, 6 days, 1 month and 6 months after implantation were determined.RESULTS: Twenty-six rabbits were included in the final analysis. The level of PAC-1, CD62P and platelet-monocyte aggregates at 0.5 hour, 6 days and 1 month after inserting were significantly elevated compared with the levels immediately before inserting (P

Neurology Asia 2013;18(4):431-434
Acute paraplegia is a rare presentation for a spinal cord ependymoma. Subarachnoid hemorrhage
(SAH) due to spinal ependymoma is also very rare. We report a 32-year-old woman who presented
with acute paraplegia and typical clinical signs of SAH with normal cerebral angiography, and further
diagnostic work-up revealed an spinal cord ependymoma as the source of the hemorrhage. There
is evidence that some spinal cord ependymomas have intratumoral hemorrhage, but most of these
bleedings occur without symptoms. We discuss the clinical and neuroradiological findings of this rare
case and review the literature related to this unusual presentation.431
