The dimensional stability of tissue conditioners characterizes the ability of the materials to yield accurate functional impressions of oral mucosa. This study evaluated the viscoelastic property and the linear dimensional changes with the factor of time and thickness of tissue conditioners (COE-COMFORT(TM), Visco-gel, COE-SOFT(TM), Soft-Liner) The thickness of these materials were changed (1.5mm, 3.0mm) and the percentage changes in dimension were measured at 1h, 12h, 24h, 36h, 3day, 7day after specimen preparation. From the results large differences appear between the various tissue conditioners. The results suggest that the period recommended for forming functional impression would be 2-3days after insertion in the mouth. in addition, it is important to select tissue conditioners suitable for functional impression because of the wide range of dimensional stability among the materials.

mucosa.A pulsed Nd:YAG laser (SDL-300EN, Samsung Electronics, Korea)with a wavelength of 1.32 micro meter was used. In all cases, contact mode was used. Four cases of soft tissue oral lesions are presented to document the clinical aspects. Surgery proceeded without complication and healing was uneventful. This study indicate that the Nd:YAG laser can be used successfully for intraoral soft tissue applications are well tolerated and minimal bleeding.]]>

Morsicatio buccarum et labiorum is a form of chronic oral mucosa disease caused by habitual cheek or lip biting. The affected mucosa shows a shredded appearance. The patients may feel their oral mucosa rough. In present, there have not been unified denomination and systematic introduction about this disease in our country. Two cases were reported here. The pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, pathology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis about this disease were also discussed.

Annals of Dermatology 2010;22(2):223-225
Heterotopia refers to the finding of normal tissue in foreign sites, entirely separate from the main organ. Heterotopic gastric mucosa has been observed throughout the alimentary tract, everywhere from the oral cavity to the rectum. However, occurrences in the umbilicus are an extremely rare and peculiar phenomena. We report the case of heterotopic gastric mucosa in the umbilicus.
