1.Effect of Acupoint Sticking at“Zusanli”(ST36) with Magnolia Powder on Patients with Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Gastrointestinal Dysfunction
Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2013;(10):1259-1260,1264
[Objective] To observe the effect of acupoint sticking at“Zusanli”(ST36) with magnolia powder on patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and gastrointestinal dysfunction. [Method] A total of 78 patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) and gastrointestinal dysfunction were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group(n=40) and control group(n=38). Al patients received conventional therapy for AECOPD and tablet mosapride 5mg tid for 3 days. Patients in treatment group also received acupoint sticking at“Zu-sanli”(ST36) with magnolia powder q8h for 3 days. [Result]The total effective rate was 75.0%for treatment group, and 44.7%for control group. The total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group, and no marked side effects were found. [Conclusion] Acupoint sticking at“Zusan-li”(ST36) with magnolia powder combined with mosapride can relieve gastrointestinal dysfunction of patients with AECOPD.

Objective:To investigate the effect of restraint stress on T, B lymphocyte transformation rate and phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage.Method:Cells were extracted from the abdominal cavity of mice with S180 tumor and then were injected subcutaneously in the right oxter in 0.2 ml/mouse. Some of the mice were bound at the same time. There were four groups in all, they were normal control, tumor mice without restrain, restrained mice without tumor, and mice with both tumor cell injection and restrain. All mice were killed after 10 days, T and B lymphocyte transformation rates of spleen were examined, the phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage was also tested. The weights of tumors were also recorded.Result:Compared with tumor mice without restrain, the mice with both tumor injection and restrain had lower T, B lymphocyte transformation rates and lower phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophage. The weight of tumor in the study group was also higher than that of tumor mice without restrain. Conclusion:Restraint stress aggravates the depression of the immune function of mice with S180 tumor and promotes the growth of the tumor.

Objective To evaluate the CT and MR features of renal oncocytoma in order to improve the ability for recognition and ima-gingdiagnosis.Methods The CT and MR findings of renal oncocytoma in 12 patients proved by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results CT scans were performed in 12 patients, one of which was accompanied with the contralateral renal angiomyoliptoma. In all lesions, seven were in the right kidney and five in the left. The lesions were round or oval in shape with the diameter 1.5 cm-12.3 cm.On pre-contrast scan, the homogeneous density was found in 3,calcification in 2,and central scar tissue in 5.On post-contrast images, the parenchyma of tumor was obviously enhanced in the cortical phase. However, the enhancement was attenuated in the parenchymal phase.Seven patients underwent MRI at the same time, exhibiting iso-or hypointensity on T1 WI in 4 and heterogenous hyperintensity on T2 WI in 5.Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI demonstrated homogenous enhancement in 1 and heterogenous enhancement in others with delayed enhancement of the central scar. Conclusion Most renal oncocytomas show certain characteristics on CT or MRI, which are helpful for preoperative diagnosis and surgical therapy.
